Pelley is such a happy little dog. She was more than ready to make her way outside for group time. She took off running only to come running back to see what I was going to do. After I gave Pelley some pets she was ready to race off once more. She headed out to see what the rest of the group was up to and to also see what she might be able to find in the yard. After touring around the yard a couple times, Pelley made her way back to me for some more pets. She even hopped up on the picnic table to make a bit easier. That done Pelley was off trotting around the yard once more. She ended up meeting up with Taylor. Pretty soon they were racing around together. A while later Pelley decided she’d rather like to play with Jake. They bounced around a bit, but he just wasn’t ready to get crazy just yet.

Bella and Jake were so ready for it to be group time. They went racing out the door and out into the yard. Bella didn’t waste any time in going trotting out to the far yard to do some exploring. Jake spent a little more time checking on the rest of the group before heading out to join his sister. The two of them ended up over by one of the big rocks where Bella spent some time looking around it before eventually climbing half on top. I think she enjoyed the extra height it gave her and spent some time looking around checking everything out. Jake left her to it and went to see what Coco and Resa were up to. He then moved onto see what Vega was up to. About two seconds after that Jake and Vega were off racing around the yard. Bella finished up with the rock and made her way back to the main yard to do a more thorough investigation now that the majority of the other dogs were now in the far yard. Jake ended up taking a break from Vega to have a little visit with me. Taylor then caught his eye and then he was off racing after her. I left them to their fun to go and check on Bella. She was spending some time with Vega. Jake took a break from playing to go check on his sister. While he was over there Pelley asked him to play, but he decided to spend some quiet time with Bella.

Maya and Rocky made their way out to the yard. They both stopped to see what was going on around them. Maya quickly went trotting further into the yard while Rocky’s attention was captured by something on the other side of the fence. He spent some time staring, but eventually left it to take up once of his favourite spots by the door. I think he was waiting for the sun to come back out in full force. Rocky got his sun for the second round of groups. Maya was off doing some exploring when she met up with Taylor. It took about two seconds for the two of them to go booking it out to the far yard and start racing around. Once they done a few laps and Maya had burned off some energy she made her way back to the main yard to check on Rocky. Satisfied he was okay, she went to do some more exploring. Along the way she met up with Jake. The two of them did a little running together before she went back to exploring some more. Rocky didn’t spend very much time alone. After Maya left him he was joined by a few others including little puppy Vega, who plopped herself down next to him.

Coco and Timbits spent the first little while of group socializing. They wanted to know how everyone was doing and give everyone a thorough once over. When Coco and Timbits finished with that they set out to explore around the yard. It wasn’t long before Timbits was distracted from his exploring by Resa. They gave each other a once over then took off running. The two of them split up and Timbits went to go see Jake and Vega. When Jake took off running Timbits was more than happy to take off after him. Coco was taking a break from exploring the yard as well, but only because her attention was captured by the pool leaning against the wall. I’m not sure why she found it so interesting, but she did. Once there was nothing more to look over on the pool Coco went trotting out to the far yard to continue on exploring in the grass. Timbits decided to make his way over to Coco and see what she was looking at. After a little more exploring around the yard the two of them headed back to the main yard to spend some time with Bella.

Abbie and Jock were both pretty excited to make their way outside for group time. Jock didn’t waste any time in putting his nose to the ground and setting off in search of something amazing. Abbie took a moment to say hi to me and get some quick pets. With that done, she tagged along after her brother. Not too long after that Abbie decided she was done exploring in the main yard and went trotting out to the far yard. Jock took a few extra minutes to really check out a particular section of grass, but then he followed Abbie. The two of them set off to different parts of the yard to see what they might find. Jock ended up making his way over to Apple by the fence to see what she was looking at. Both Abby and Jock were distracted from their exploring when when the doxies Rufus and Sherman took off running. The westies took off after them and gave chase. It wasn’t a very long chase, but they all seemed to have a lot of fun. With that out of their systems it was time to do some more exploring.

Abby and Dudley got to start their morning off with a nice walk. Afterwards it was time for their extra attention. They two of them went racing off down the hall. I led Abby and Dudley to the playroom. Almost as soon as I had closed the door Abby was ready to play. She went bouncing around and pouncing on her brother. Dudley was more interested in rolling on the floor at that particular moment so Abby came bouncing over to play with me. Eventually she turned her sights back on Dudley and this time had more success. It didn’t take long for the two of them to be tearing around the room. Once they’d burned off some energy they both decided it was time for lots of pets and cuddles. Later on it was time for Group. Abby and Dudley were quick to put their noses to the ground and start exploring. They were very thorough in their explorations and didn’t seem to want to move on to the far yard until the main yard was completely looked over. Eventually Abby and Dudley didn’t make it out to the far yard and from there they split up. Dudley took a moment to take stock of his environment then decided to go and see what the doxies were up to. He apparently found Rufus’ tail quite interesting and spent some time checking it over. When Dudley finished with his tail he turned his sights on me and decided it was time for some pets and attention. Feeling all frisky Dudley then went to see about playing with Kado. The boys bounced around and then took off running. It was short lived, but they had fun.  When Abby had entered the far yard she decide to stick with exploring around the yard. She kept her nose to the ground as she made her way all over the yard checking out every little thing that caught her attention. Abby eventually headed on over my way. She then discovered a good rolling spot and was more than happy to roll around. Dudley went over to watch her antics. Dudley was then distracted from his sister by a crow. He then spent the rest of the time making sure the crow knew he was there and not afraid. Abby watched him for a while then came to sit with me for some cuddles.

Apple didn’t waste any time in going trotting out into the yard. She immediately set out to check things out and see what was going on in the yard today. Apple had to stop and sample the grass every now and then as well. She quickly finished with the main yard and headed to the far yard. As Apple went trotting past the picnic table she discovered a good rolling spot. She never actually got all the way down, but she seemed to enjoy just rolling from her shoulders up. Kado curious about what she was up to made his way over to check her out. It wasn’t long after that Apple continued on her way to the fence to explore in the rocks and sample some more grass.  She had a few visitors over the next little while. Ringo was first to join her, shortly followed by Kado and then after a little while Jock. Once Apple had checked out all she wanted to along the fence she decided to spend some time looking past the fecne. Apple sat with me on the armchair at the start of her one-on-one time today. She is such a sweet soul and loves gentle pets and cuddles. We sat quietly for a little while and then Apple jumped down to explore around the room and check out the other staff who had just come up front. Kinsey decided Apple needed her sweater changed and it was so cute to see her look so refreshed when her new outfit was on. Kinsey got Apple all frisky when she rubbed her sides and talked excitedly to her and Apple seemed to be smiling she was so happy. After socializing with everyone for a little longer, we went outside for some exercise and took a different route through the field than she is used to. Apple loved following her nose up the berm and around the building and fences. We went all the way around, letting Apple set the pace and then came back in for some more pets and kisses.

Rex couldn’t wait for it to be time for his group. He went racing out the door and immediately set off to see all of what was going on in the yard.  Rex spent some time exploring in the grass, but mostly focused on what the other dogs were up to. It wasn’t long before his path led him over to me. Rex demanded some pets then went off to check out more things. Eventually his attention was caught by Maggie and a couple others having fun. Rex went over to see what they were up to and maybe see about joining in. Rex was so excited when he saw me bring a Frisbee out into the yard. He bounced up and down with excitement, always keeping his eyes locked on the toy. We played a few rounds of fetch before Rex came across a Kong toy and decided he'd like to pick that up instead.

Dexter headed out to the agility yard determined to check out everything. His nose barely lifted from the ground as he went around checking things out. Dexter’s attention was soon caught by Emma and Mylo checking something out by the fence. Not wanting to miss out he made his way over to give it a good look. That done Dexter went trotting off to check out even more of the grassy part of the yard. He next headed to the tunnel. Dexter spent some time giving the area a very thorough once over. Once he’d seen all he wanted to see for them moment he headed my way to demand some pets and attention. It wasn’t long before Dexter was so excited he was started to rub his butt against the rock. Satisfied he then went trotting off to see what he rest of the group was up to.

Teddy had a busy day today, as usual. He was happy to be accompanied by a group of dogs that love to run and play. Of course, Teddy spent the majority of his time running around all his friends, keeping a close eye on all the action. Teddy is a great referee when it comes to wrestling and boxing. He is always sure to vocalize to his friends when the games are getting too intense and he will heard closer and closer trying to control them. Most of the time, his friends are too busy to care for his shenanigans however today, Jemma, was very obedient to all his wishes. Teddy loved her response to his running nad barking so he would test himself with her. Eventually, Jemma realized he was just playing around, so she began to ignore him. This didn’t stop Teddy from continuing to hear his friends with the biggest smile on his face.

Spencer was so excited to spend his day with his best buddy Teddy. These two keep each other great company, knowing when to rest and when to play. Spencer was happy to head outdoors for his mid morning group. He followed all his friends down the hall and out the door with his tail wagging a million miles an hour. On his way down the hall he came across a couple kibbles lying in the hall and instantly pounced. He was very pleased to have found himself the small treats. In the yard today, Spencer was happy to start things off by sniffing and exploring. He keeps himself very busy when it comes to investigating. After some convincing from his friends, Spencer decided to play around with the lovely Rosie. Rosie can be quite the flirt, she isn’t afraid at all to show the boys what she wants. She was pouncing and pawing all over Spencer until he finally gave in. The pair began to dance around, facing one another, and then bouncing backwards. It wasn’t long before Rosie tucked her bum and zoomed off looking for a chase. Spencer was happy to briefly chase her around the yard, but stopped when all his other friends joined in. It seemed he didn’t want to join in on a big swarm of games, which I can’t blame him for. He then watched his friends play around while sticking close to my side gladly accepting pets and cuddles.

Hobart was happy to start his morning off with a nice walk. He was happy to be accompanied by two busy friends, Max the labradoodle and Maggie the golden retriever. To my surprise, Hobart was rather smitten with miss Maggie. He spent some time walking in circles around her with his nose glued to her sides. He then began to gently body bump her, followed by a couple kisses to her ear. Maggie was more than happy to have someone crushing on her, so she let Hobart continue on. Hobart followed right on Maggie’s heels for the entire walk. Occasionally, he would walk up beside her and give her gently kiss, then return to behind here where he would politely follow. When the walk was over, Hobart looked a little disappointed to return to a kennel without Maggie. When it was time to go out in the yard Hobart was very keen to meet up with some young, playful dogs. They were very intrigued by him too. He did numerous laps around the yard, stopping to greet every dog he came across. Sammy and Justice were very fascinated by Hobart. The both of them gently pawed at him and gave him a play bow, which he did not reciprocate. However, he did enjoy the offer and attention. Hobart spent the remainder of his time in the yard sniffing and exploring. He also met up with me and nuzzled into my side where he gladly accepted some good chin scratches and bum pats.

It was so nice to have Sammy in for daycare today, it seems like a while since I’ve last seen her. She was absolutely thrilled to be her too. I was so pleased to see her so full of beans, participating in all the fun and games, goofing around like the silly girl she can be. Sammy was love struck by a younger dog who has been coming in for boarding and daycare named Jemma. Jemma is one of my favourite girls, she is such a sweet girl who is always open to play with anyone and everyone. Jemma was so excited to be here today, she showed this by wiggling around the yar with her whole bum going side to side. She zoomed around from dog to dog saying her hellos but stopped dead in her tracks when she came across Sammy. I had such a good laugh watching Sammy’s reaction to meeting her. Sammy slowly rolled onto her side and then onto her back, sprawling all of her legs apart, then kicking and flailing them in the air. Normally, the younger dog will do this as a sign of submission to the older dog, however Sammy is older than Jemma, which made it so funny. Jemma definitely did not know what to do, so she too, lay down and slowly rolled on her back. I stood there laughing, waiting for one of them to make a move. Of course crazy Jemma decided she needed to play and not goof around, so she pounced up, play bowed to Sammy then bounced away. Sammy slowly rolled onto her side and perked her head up, watching Jemma as she bounced away. Jemma then zoomed back and began to leap in circles around Sammy asking her to play. Finally, out of nowhere, Sammy lept up and zoomed across the yard full speed. Jemma bolted after her without a worry in the world. This pair zoomed around the yard in circles over and over until Sammy deterred from Jemma by bolting through the tunnel. Jemma wasn’t sure about the tunnel at first, however Sammy convinced her that it was a fun place to be. The duo ended up frolicking in the tunnel, drawing lots of attention their way. Soon enough, a couple more of their group-mates were in the tunnel with them. Next thing I knew there were 5 dogs going in and out of the tunnel causing such a commotion. I had a great time watching them all goof around. After some more tunnel action, Jemma and Sammy broke off on their own to continue their games. The pair finished their time in the yard with a great wrestle match. They both rolled around on the ground side by side, and on top of one another, while grunting and groaning. They had so much fun together that they didn’t even realize the whole group had gone indoors! I had to come back inside and call them in. Of course, their games started right back up during their next outing.

Issy and Mocha were pleased to spend another day in the kitchen. During cleaning of the front, we had all the doors open as rooms and halls were vacuumed and mopped. The kitchen door was wide open and they had access to the whole front of the building, however, the duo chose to stay curled up in the kitchen. Around lunchtime, Issy must have heard be clanking dishes around in the back, because she finally came out of the kitchen and was waiting patiently in the hall for her lunchtime treat. She was a little disappointed to smell that Mocha got peanut butter and all she got was a biscuit, so I gave her a piece of chicken from my lunch. Wow, how spoiled?! Issy and Mocha were pleased to have their group time in the small dog yard today. Issy always loves a new yard, as this gives her so much more to sniff and explore. Mocha was very unsure of her group-mates at first. She spent a good amount of time watching them before interacting with them. Max finally made his move and walked towards Mocha. Mocha slowly walked towards him, with a very unsure look in her eyes. After Max gave her a polite sniff, Mochas tail began to wag and she gave him a kiss on the nose. Max loved this, so kissed her all over her ears. Mocha took this as a cue to get away, so she scurried back to my side looking for some protection from the overly friendly Max. Her darting only drew more attention to her, leading Cai to motor over and check her out. Mocha seemed to like Cai much more, as she perked her ears up and wagged her tail very fast while standing still. Cai sniffed her head to toe, and then play bowed, and bolted off looking for a chase. Mocha showed no interest what so ever in his games. She stuck her nose to the ground and continued sniffing the yard before making her way to my side to ask for pets and cuddles. Issy wasn’t far behind her, and the duo spent the rest of their time in the yard getting full body massages from myself.

Max and Sadie had a quieter day today. The pair wasn’t in-group with their usual rambunctious husky friends, so they took the opportunity to really sniff and explore the yard. It isn’t that often that they can both keep their nose to the ground without getting jumped by a silly group-mate. Sadie spent the majority of her time along the outskirts of the yard, pawing and digging into the long grass and rocks checking out all the smells underneath. Of course, she made her way into the centre of the yard and found herself 2 feet deep (literally) in the hole. No mater how hard I tried, I couldn’t get miss Sadie to stop digging. I drew a lot of attention to her by saying no a hundred times, which only led to her friend Tsavo digging too. It kept her busy for a while at least. She then met me on the picnic table and gave me some good cuddles and kisses. Max only wanted t osniff and explore for so long, and then he began to zip and zoom around the yard looking for a friend to chase him. His two buddies Tsavo and Cai weren’t apposed to some games. Max was happy to leap and bounce around with the pair for a while. He alternated taking them on, one at a time, but in the end they tag teamed him, leaving him on the bottom with the pair winning on top. Max wasn’t disappointed at all as he leapt up and zoomed off looking for a chase. Neither of them were interested in chasing, he played it off cool by slowly going from a run to a trot to walk and then sniffing. He met up with Mocha in the gravel yard that briefly sparked his interest, however she didn’t want to play so he gave up fast. Max was then pleased to meet up with me in the grass yard and show me some of his commands such as sit and lay down, which he did a great job of demonstrating.

Tsavo and Cai were on their best behavior in the yard today. This pair wasn’t all that interested in playing around like usual. The cooler air must have had them in a mindset to sniff and explore along with their other group-mates. Tsavo broke off from investigating the yard to meet with me on the picnic table, where she offered me oodles of kisses and cuddles. Cai wasn’t going to let her get all the attention so he bee-lined his way towards me from across the yard. He is much stronger than he thinks, as he leapt on me full force he realized he smushed me and was quick to retract his decision. His way of apologizing was to smother me in kisses too. After I was covered in Tsavo and Cai’s love slobber, the duo finally broke away from my side to meet up with their pal Max. Tsavo and Cai had good fun briefly wrestling and romping around with Max. Although they give in to Max’s shenanigans, in the end, they always team up and take him down (in a fun way). Max loves their intensity and constantly begs them for more games. After a couple rounds of wrestling and then some boxing, the pair broke off to do some more sniffing and exploring of the yard.

Fez was very pleased to accompany me on a short walk this morning. He loves to head out the back gate, and investigate everything the backfield has to offer. As usual, he found some great grass to snack on as well as a grasshopper to follow around. Fez was very content to have the largest kennel all to himself today. I spotted him snoozing on a big cot at one point and later on her was sprawled out on the cool tile resting his eyes. He loves having all the space to himself. In the yard, Fez was happy to be in a quieter group, with independent friends who like to sniff and explore on their own terms. Fez spent the majority of the time outdoors wandering around, checking out the other dogs as well as smells in the yard. As I sat down on a boulder, Fez made his way over to me looking for some pats and cuddles. Of course, he got what he was looking for, and was soon accompanied by Sophie the golden retriever. Fez showed a little interest in her by kissing the back of her head and trying to paw at her side. Sophie didn’t mind at all, so she continued to hang out with Fez and I enjoying some attention on this nice sunny day.

Sophie is always a bundle of love. She is constantly smiling at you, with her whole bum wagging and tongue out. She did not disappoint today by offering me bundles of love throughout the whole time outside. She took her time at first to say hello to all of the dogs, and then proceeded to sniff around the yard. Every couple minutes she caught my eye and would wiggle her way over to me. She loves to squeeze her face against my side and look up at me with her big, brown eyes. As I began to rub her chin she put all her weight on me and nearly knocked me over. I had to double step away from her, which led her to pounce over to me thinking I wanted to play games with her. I gave in to her request to goof around for a brief period of time, before she realized I didn’t intentionally hop away. Sophie was then very content to go meet up with some of her friends in the yard and explore with them. Of course she made her way back to me on and off for the remainder of her time in the yard. I was very happy to have her company throughout our outdoor time.

Kimi is always happy to spend her day in the staff room, accompanied by her two regular buddies Bentley and Merida. This quirky trio is always so lovely; they do a great job making us feel loved. Bentley is known for shaking blankets around, and normally Kimi brushes it off, however today she got pretty spunky when he got up to his games. Kimi began to bounce around, watching him whip the blanket around in his mouth. She then let out a little howl and play-bowed towards him. Bentley offered her the other end of the blanket, as he tends to do, but Kimi wasn’t up for a game of tug, She then returned to her favourite spot in the staff room to lay down and snooze until it was time for her group outing. Kimi was pleased to be apart of an quieter independent group today. This meant she could roam freely without the hassle of being asking to play around. Kimi was very content to sniff and explore the longer grass at the back of the yard as well as dig around in the rocks. Today, Kimi got up to her silly shenanigans of “hearing things” in the rocks. I love watching her stare at the rocks, tilting her head side to side, with her ears moving around like little radars. Kimi spent a while staring into the rocks before one of her friends joined her side, showing interest too. Kimi then thought it was’t as cool anymore, and head off on her own to sniff and explore some more. She was pleased to meet up with me towards the end of her time outside and accept some good ear and chin scratches.

I love having Poppy stay with us, she is always happy to see loves and me to cuddle. We enjoyed a nice morning walk with two friends Mylo and Keeva. Poppy was very interested in these two, and spent the majority of her time on the walk sniffing them. Occasionally she would break off to trot through the long grass and do some investigating of the path. She would always make her way back onto the trail and find herself right between Mylo and Keeva, whom she would sniff all over again. In the yard today Poppy was way too busy checking out the yard. She had to sniff every inch of it, to see all that has changed since she was last here. When called, Poppy would zoom over to me with her whole bum wagging. She would briefly enjoy some pats and cuddles before insisting on running off to do more sniffing and exploring. Towards the end of group time Poppy was content with all of her findings so she chose to hang out with me. She made her way onto my lap by climbing onto the rock I was sitting on then leaping onto me. She was pleased to be held, for a brief period of time, before squirming to be let down. She made her way back onto my lap and enjoyed some cuddles in the sun before heading indoors.
