Groups
Percy was so excited to get outside and see all who was in his group. He ran around saying quick hellos to everyone. Percy then decided he wanted to do a little exploring. He made his way over to the fence behind the tunnel and set about exploring in the all the crevices and cracks. Once Percy had thoroughly gone over it he was ready to check on the other dogs. He went trotting around the yard until he spotted Brenyn in the pool. Percy went running over and was quick to join her in the pool. He splashed around for a bit. Feeling cooler, Percy went running off to do a little more exploring. He stayed out of the pool for less then a minute. Percy was soon back splashing around. Eventually he was ready to leave the pool and went to race around with Justice and Magic

Vasco got out to the agility yard and went immediately to the far part of the yard. He did a little exploring, checking out the surrounding area and seeing if anything had changed since last time he was here. When he finished, Vasco went trotting back to see what the rest of the group was up to. He met up with Piper and Monte. After checking in on them Vasco headed back out to do some more exploring. He quickly did a round of the yard and went to see what Issy was up to. Vasco left Issy when he saw Monte and I playing Frisbee. He came trotting over and watched for a throw before deciding to run around after Monte. Vasco didn’t seem super interested in the toy, but he seemed like he was having fun chasing his friend. He ended up leaving Monte to go and join Caesar as he went trotting around the yard. Next Vasco went to check on Piper. He didn’t stay with Piper long and went to go trotting off. Vasco then found himself being asked to play by Monte. The two of them went running all over the yard together. Their runs around the yard eventually led them to the pool. Vasco was more than happy to hop in with Monte.

Caesar and Monte went running out to the agility yard. Caesar was then quick to come race back to lean against my legs wanting lots of pets. Monte, realizing his brother wasn’t right behind him anymore, came trotting over to see where he’d gone. When Monte headed back out, Caesar followed after him. He didn’t stick with his brother long and was soon distracted by some smells on the ground. Monte continued on is way until he realized once more he’d lost his brother along the way. He headed back the way he came only to find himself being thoroughly examined by Piper. Monte managed to leave Piper and go and join Caesar. The two of them then went around the yard with their heads together for a while. I found a Frisbee, which immediately caught Monte’s attention. He came running over ready to play. We had a lot of fun playing fetch on our own. After a little while Vasco joined us. He wasn’t really interested in the toy, but seemed to enjoy running after Monte. Caesar was trotting around the yard checking out anything that caught his eye. Vasco then left Monte to trot around after Caesar. When Vasco headed out on his own Monte decided he was done with the Frisbee and wanted to play with Vasco. They spent the next little while running around together. Caesar continued his explorations, until he found himself a nice bone. He then settled down for a nice little chew. It wasn’t long before Caesar was back out exploring. Monte spotted the pool while he was running around. It wasn’t long before he and Vasco were having fun in the pool. Caesar finished with his exploring and made his way back over to me for some more pets.

Issy and Mocha were the first to make their way out to the agility yard. They were quick to head out and start exploring around the yard. Mocha didn’t make it very far in when she was stopped by Piper who wanted to say hi and see how she was doing. When Piper moved on, Mocha was happy to get back to her exploring. Issy, who was a little ways away doing her own exploring, decided to head back to join Mocha and see what she was looking at. After a little more exploring, Mocha looked up at me. I looked back and soon she was at my side wanting pets. I was more than happy to give them to her. Once she had enough Mocha decided to retreat to her spot near the door and do a little sunbathing. Issy stayed in the agility yard and continued her exploring around the yard.
Piper went trotting out to the yard trying to decide what she wanted to do. She spotted Mocha and decided to start with her. Piper spent some time saying hi and giving her a thorough once over. She finished with Mocha and then made her way over to Monte to repeat the process. After Monte left her Piper set out to tour the yard checking out every little thing that caught her attention. After a little while she found herself being joined by Vasco. He soon left so Piper set out on her own once more. She seemed determined to check out every little bit of the yard. After a while Piper decided it was a good time to go and relax in the shade for a bit so I headed over and joined her. Piper was quite happy to receive some pets and love.

Charlee, Trixie and Roxy were waiting patiently for it to be their turn to head out for group. As soon as they got outside Trixie and Roxy headed off to put their noses to work. Charlee went to follow them when she noticed Rocky.  She went trotting over to say hi and quickly decided she rather liked him. They spent quite some time checking each other over. When Rocky headed out to do some exploring Charlee tagged along. Roxy and Trixie became quite fascinated by a particular scent by the fence. They spent a while giving it a very thorough once over. Trixie finished with the scent and headed off to check out more of the yard. Roxy was determined to know all of the scents secrets and stay where she was. It wasn’t long before the sniffing turned into Roxy rolling.  I couldn’t see anything, but apparently it was pretty awesome. Since her sister still hadn’t joined her, Trixie headed back to steal Roxy away. Soon they were back to touring the yard with their heads together. Charlee was still going around with Rocky greatly enjoying herself. Maya, who was checking in on Rocky, soon joined them. Charlee and Maya spent some time saying hi and looking one another over. Charlee decided that she rather liked Maya, but that she was also a little intimidated. She very badly wanted to play with Maya, but kept regretting her decision. Maya was very good with her and played very gently. After a little while Charlee decided to go and check in with Trixie and Roxy before going back to play with Maya some more.

Maya and Rocky were pretty happy to be heading out for their group time. As soon as they got out, Maya took off to start exploring. Rocky made it about five steps when Charlee stopped him. The two of them spent quite some time checking one another over and saying hi. They seemed to really like each other and Rocky even headed out to do some exploring with her. Maya became curious about Charlee and went over to check her out and quickly decided that she rather liked her, too. Maya ended up joined Rocky and Charlee as they explored. It wasn’t long before Maya grew tired of exploring and was ready to play. She took of running hoping someone would chase her. Charlee tagged along after her. Charlee then left to check on her sisters so Maya lay down to wait for her to come back. Charlee did eventually come back, which made Maya pretty happy. Rocky left them to their fun and decided to also take a break from exploring and made his way over to his favourite corner to watch them and sunbathe.

Kouza couldn’t wait to get outside for her group. Once out there, Kouza sought out the best shady spot, out of the hot sun. Kouza didn’t let the sunshine stop her from exploring, though. After checking out the shady section she headed out in to the grass, determined to check out everything. Kouza started out near the main building, but soon headed out to check out more of the yard. Once she had checked out all the grassy sections she decided it was time to head back to relax in the shade with Julie. I headed over to join her and asked if maybe she might want to play with a toy. Kouza looked interested but decided that’s she’d much rather have butt scratches than play.

Bella and Jake went outside for their group this morning right after their extra attention session they had up at the front reception with us. They were very excited as they ran up and began to sniff around the room to explore all the unfamiliar scents. I sat down on a chair right away and called them over to me. First Jake ran and hopped up onto my lap and took a seat on my lap, then Bella saw and got a little jealous so she ran over to join in. When she jumped up Jake moved over as the two of them both sat on me all squished together. They were loving it though and all of the cuddles they were getting. When they got outside they took that as a chance to go and run around and explore. Bella skipped over to the far yard and began to sniff around the grass. Jake took his time in the main yard and wandered around the gravel for a little while before making his way over to Bella. Bella came across a big hole and investigated it with her nose while Jake took on some of the big rocks and walked around them in circles. The holes were so big that Bella could even fit in them and took a step inside before jumping back as if something startled her as she walked in it. After that she ran over to go see Jake and they trotted back to the door together to stay in the shade away from the sun.

Lola and Pearl were being noisy little things as they snorted up and down the hallway as I was letting everyone outside. Pearl was really full of beans, which isn’t too surprising and she kept on running in circles up and down the hallway while Lola stood there waiting for her to walk outside. Once Pearl had checked out every kennel in the hallway, she ran quickly to join Lola outside. Lola began to sniff around the long plants that were sticking out of the fence as Pearl made her way over to the far grass yard and began to sniff around. She was still really excited and every time she lifted her nose off of the ground she would start to wiggle her body and jump around a dog to see if they would want to play with her. She came across one dog that seemed to be very interested in her. Pearl noticed this and jumped out on to his back, which sent him bouncing across the yard and then circled back around to her. The other dog stood there as he began to relax, then she started to run around him with her tongue hanging out and a big smile on her face as she was filled with joy. Eventually Lola wandered over as she stood at the open door going into the grass yard deciding whether or not she wanted to join Pearl. As she stood there, Pearl all of a sudden ran out and straight to the door where she began to sniff around there. That meant that Lola turned around and walked all the way back there to see her, once she got to the door she laid down in the sun to relax.

Miko and Monty took it pretty easy out in the yard today. Maybe it was because of how hot it was outside and they wanted to keep it a little more relaxed on a day like today. When Miko walked out the door he had a lot of energy though and he ran around in circles as fast as he could to show off to all of the other dogs. They watched him as he span and once he stopped he stood there with his mouth wide open and his tongue hanging out with a smirk on his face that read, “try to catch me”. Meanwhile, when Monty walked out the door he stayed there for a minute as he walked around all the dogs to say hi to each of them and socialize. He spent a lot of the time sniffing the other dogs before I walked over to the further yard and he stopped immediately and began follow me in there. He started off by sniffing along the small rocks that were lined up along the side of the fence. He made sure to say hi to all the dogs that were near him first before he began to explore and then kept to himself. When I walked over to the picnic table to take a seat in the shade, Monty ran right over and hopped up on top of it to take a seat right beside me. He really enjoys his company and as I pet him and he gave me numerous kisses on the cheek.

Leah and Poppy are both so sweet, they were so excited for their walk this morning. Leah couldn’t stop running around me in circles on her leash as I was trying to get Poppy’s hooked on. Once we got outside they both settled down as we started to walk along the trail and out of the yard. During their group time outside Poppy and Leah made their way out into the agility yard where they began to wander around and say hi to all of the dogs that ran out after them. As Leah was sniffing one of her pals, Poppy ran over to me right as soon as she saw me and started to brush her head against my leg, asking for a pet. I knelt down and gave her lots of cuddles as she snuggled up as close as she could get to me for me to pet her. It was very cute. I called Leah over so I could give her some love as well but she was too distracted by the others to look over at me. Once she was done saying hi and sniffing the other dogs, Leah trotted around the yard and began to explore on her own. Poppy did the same but on her own as well. It wasn’t until they saw all of the dogs run over to the door that they met up with each other. Once I called all the dogs back into the yard Leah and Poppy stayed by each other’s sides as they explored the yard.

Feist was such a goofy girl this morning during her walk. She loved to jump up and around all of the others randomly once we started to walk on the trail and got herself all tangled up in the leash. The other two didn’t mind and found her quite entertaining so she didn’t stop and kept on playing around. During her group outside she seemed to be a bit more relaxed as she joined all of the others out in the agility yard. Even though she ran as fast as she could out the door, she slowed down once she got in the middle of the yard and began to walk around and sniff everything she saw. I called her over to me and she started to bounce over with a big goofy smile on her face as she was walking. At the same time she walked over Hobart did as well and joined us for our little cuddle session in the middle of the yard. Hobart was squeezing himself between Feist and I, trying to get all the love. Feist didn’t mind though and ran over to the pool to take a quick dip and cool off. She walked around in the water and stood in it to get her feet wet for a while before jumping back out. When Hobart saw her jump in he took off as well and made his way over to the far part of the agility yard to wander around through the tall grass to explore. He sniffed through it and tried to find something with that nose of his but when nothing came up he made his way back over to the door where Feist followed behind him. They sat there to take a break and cool off in the shade before coming back inside.

Extra Attention

Feist is such a sweet girl. We went for a little stroll around the field and to see all of the other staff. Feist always walks up with one of those little doggy smiles, which is so cute! She followed her nose, zig-zagging all over the place and taking in all of the good smells. We then went back inside where we said hello to everyone before heading back to her kennel. Once back, Feist and I settled down for some snuggle time. She laid her head down on my lap like a good girl and eventually closed her eyes. Before I left Feist's comfy bed I gave her some treats, which she really enjoyed.

Vasco was very excited when I brought a leash to his kennel this afternoon. We started his one-on-one time with a walk around the field. Vasco followed his nose to all of the parts of the field that he doesn’t normally get to sniff during his morning walk. We even went down to the little bridge at the creek and Vasco took his time to sniff the grass along the edge and look down underneath. There was no water in the creek so we kept walking to see what other interesting things we could find. We then made our way back into the reception area to cool off and have a drink. Vasco was very happy to say hello to little Julie and to the other staff, who gave him lots of pets and attention.
