Groups
Max and Sadie were so excited to be back today! They went tearing
out the door and went racing off to find out who was in their group. They met
up with Adele first. After giving her a very thorough once over, Max went racing
off to Justice. Sadie decided to head out and do a little exploring around the
yard. Max and Justice were quick to go tearing around the yard together. They ended
up over by the tunnel and had some fun racing through it. Magic went sprinting
over to join them and finally Sadie couldn’t resist the fun anymore and went to join them as well. Max switched his focus from Justice and onto Magic. She
took off at warp speed while Max tried to catch her. Sadie and Justice weren’t
quite up to that speed so let them have some fun on their own for the moment.
Sadie toured around the yard until she met up with Adele. She then decided to
spend some time trotting around with her. Sadie soon set off on her own once
more, wanting to check out her own things. Max eventually needed a bit of a breather from racing around with Magic. He headed out to do some exploring around the yard. Max soon went and joined Sadie and the two spent some time with their heads together. Max and Sadie finished with the far yard and decided to head over to the next yard to spend some time checking it out. Max ended up by the play structure. It wasn't long before he was in it and checking out all the nooks and crannies. Sadie started out checking out all the grassy sections, but she soon made her way over to the pallet where she could observe life from a slightly higher elevation. Feeling nice and refreshed, the two of them were ready to play once more. They took off racing and joined by with Magic and Justice. The four of them were soon having a grand old time together.
Joey and Giacomo made their way outside and immediately set out to tour around the yard. Giacomo was quickly derailed from his plans when Gryphon stopped him to see if he wanted to play. They spent some time staring at each other with their tails wagging, but in the end Giacomo decided he wanted to trot around the yard some more. Joey did a quick tour of the yard then decided he'd rather like to go in the agility yard. Since the gate wasn't open at that point he stood and stared at me with some sad puppy dog eyes. As soon as I opened the gate and Joey wasted no time in trotting off into the yard. Giacomo noticed his brother headed out to the yard and went racing after him, wanting to get in on anything interesting. Giacomo and Joey ended up over by the buildings, searching in the grass. A noise on the other side of the fence caught their attention. Giacomo had his face against the fence trying to see what was going on. Since Joey couldn't really see around his brother, he went off to the other side of the building so he could try and see through the other fence. Once their curiosity was satisfied, the two of them met up to go touring around the yard together. Eventually Joey was ready for a break and made his way over to me for some pets and cuddles.
Dougie couldn’t wait to go outside. He went charging out the
door and immediately went to say hi to the rest of the group. Dougie took an
immediate liking to Harvey. It didn’t take them long before they were jumping
on each other and having a great time. Dougie was then interested in Mel, who
had been watching them play. Dougie took a break so he could say a proper hello
to Mel and see how he was doing. With that done, he went running off to see what else
was going on in the yard. Not finding anything more exciting than, Harvey Dougie
went running back and launched himself at him. Harvey was taking a break from playing, so Dougie went to go and have a visit with Mylo. Out of the corner of
his eye he spotted Harvey playing with Mel. Not wanting to miss out on anything
fun, Dougie went running over to join in. Dougie took a break and went trotting around the yard until the other dogs around Harvey wandered off. As soon as they were gone, Dougie was right back there with Harvey and ready to play. The two of them had a blast wrestling and running around. Their fun soon caught the eyes of Riley and Goliath who went running over to see about joining in.
Mel was pretty happy to head outside for group time. As soon
as he got outside he was very happy to see Dougie and Harvey, who were wrestling and
playing around. Mel then caught Dougie’s attention. He took a break from
playing so he could say hi to Mel and see how he was doing. Mel then found himself
being checked over by Harvey, Riley, and Goliath. Harvey quickly decided he’d
rather like to play with Mel. Mel and Harvey were then joined by Riley and
Dougie who both didn’t want to miss out on the fun. Mel finished saying hello and then decided to head off and see what he could find in the yard. After he had toured all around the yards and saw everything he wanted to see, Mel took up a position near the door where he could also watch the antics of the rest of the group. I decided to head over to visit with him. Goliath noticed this and decided to tag along and spend some time with Mel. It wasn't long before Riley and Harvey had also joined us.
Coco and Timbits were so full of energy when they first got here this morning. They hung out with us in the staff room for a little while before heading into a kennel before groups. Timbits was being super playful, of course, and was pulling on all of the toys that were hanging out of the toy bin to try and play with them. Meanwhile, Coco looked like she just wanted to be cuddled and sat on my lap as I pet her for a while. Timbits saw that she was sitting on me and kept on jumping up to try and get her to come down and play with him. Once she jumped off me, the two of them started to brawl across the floor. Timbits took the lead and kept on jumping all over Coco as she tried to get away and then jumped on his back in return. When they went outside for their group, Timbits ran into the yard straight away to start playing. He and Finnigan really hit it off right away and the two played together the entire time. As they were in the further yard, Finnigan started to sniff around Timbits for a moment before Timbits bounced back and started to run around the yard with Finnigan chasing after him. Timbits didn't even try to run from Finnigan since he's pretty quick, and Finnigan pounced, igniting a play wrestling match. Coco was spending her time trotting around the yard and exploring. I called her over to me and she walked over and put her head down for me to pet it. I was trying to get her to play with the other two but she just seemed to want to watch them instead. A little bit later on, Finnigan went through the tunnel to sniff something there and Timbits turned to Coco. She was now excited and ready to play with her (not so) little brother. Finnigan came back to resume his play with Timbits, but this time he got double beagle trouble with both Coco and Timbits.
Tara spent her morning in the kitchen and was loving every second of company she got with each person that came in to say hello to her. She’s such a cuddly little dog and whenever you go to pet her she wiggles her body and gives you a look that shouts “don’t stop!”. During groups outside she stayed near Keegan the entire time. Keegan is usually pretty playful when he gets out into the yard, but today when he noticed Tara all he was interested in doing was being around her. Keegan trotted out to the far side of the gravel yard to go and explore around the grass. Tara was already over there sniffing along the fence. Keegan went right up to Tara and began to give her a few sniffs to say hi. Tara didn’t mind one bit that he was near her and let him stay. The two walked around together as they explored and when I called them over to me they both skipped over quickly. Keegan is quite the cuddle bug and as I was petting Tara again he’d walk right in between my legs and curl up into a ball and wait his turn. Eventually Keegan wanted in too and scooted his nose under my hand so that he could squeeze in next to his friend. I pet them both and as I did, Keegan kept on getting more and more excited and started to jump up onto my shoulders so he would be able to reach my face and give me a kiss. Tara hopped up shortly after and she walked over to go and say hi to the other dogs by the door and to explore that area. I got up and followed her, while Keegan trotted right behind me. These two stayed by the door the rest of the time we were outside and relaxed.

Xena was being such a cute girl when I took her outside for her group today. Xena's brothers followed her out the door and she had to run a little faster as they chased after her and tried to jump up to her playfully. Once they both said hi they parted ways for a little while. Xena took her time as she sniffed around the main yard before I called them all over to join me in the agility yard where there's more space to run around. Xena took off right away and began to head straight to the other side of the yard to sniff around and explore through the tall grass. She loves to stick her nose in it and move her head around so it brushes up against her face. I called her over to me and showed her a special little treat I had for her in my pocket. She got super excited and began to jump up. Finally, once I got her to sit down, Xena had a big grin on her face with her tongue sticking out. I gave her the treat and she ate it in a second, then took off to go and explore the rest of the yard before it was time to go back inside.
