Gracie had a great day as usual. She was very excited to see me first thing this morning. She jumped out of her bed with her ears pinned back and tail wagging and came over to me. She sat at my feet while I scratched her head and back. Right after that I let her out for her first group rotation. After being outside, Gracie soon went for her walk. She walked with her pal Goliath. A little while later, Gracie went outside again for next group play time. In the yard Gracie enjoyed exploring. She loved walking along the part of the yard where there were different plants and grass growing. She stuck her nose into the ground and walked along while sniffing. She stumbled across the new dog in the group, Mylo. She sniffed him and Mylo sniffed back. They spent a while just hanging out by each other's side. Gracie and I had a good one on one session this morning. It isn't hard to spend time with this lovely girl. She was so happy to head up to reception where we cuddled for a while. Gracie loves belly rubs and giving kisses. She was keen to sniff and explore the front area, and was quick to jump on the front chair. She looked like a great manager, handling the desk tasks like a pro. Gracie loves hanging out with our resident dog Julie. These two combined have the sweetest begging faces, and of course got oodles of snacks. They also had fun playing tug with a stuffed toy. When Gracie and I headed outside she immediately stuck her nose to the ground and began sniffing the fresh cut grass out front. It wasn't long before I showed her the giant tennis ball and we had a great game of soccer. She loved sprinted after the ball and batting it around with her nose and paws. It was a bit of a struggle to get the big toy in her mouth,  but she finally achieved this and began zooming around with such pride and joy of her new possession. We goofed around out front for a bit longer before heading back inside where we cuddled on her bed until it was time for her to head out for groups.

Amira had a nice day. In the morning she happily barked at me to tell me she was excited to go out for her first outdoor group. In the yard, Amira wandered around contentedly. She then got to go on her walk in the trails with her two friends, Riley and Harvey. She had a nice time with them. Not long after that, it was then time for Amira's next outdoor group play time. She wandered into the yard and the first thing she did was sniff all of her friends. She then came over to me with her ears down and tail wagging while barking. She snugged into my lap and got some cuddles from me. Some of her friends were coming up to me with toys, so I would pick up and throw them while Amira was by my side. I'd always let her sniff the toy before I gave it back to the other dogs. She wandered over to a plush patch of grass and dropped to the ground. She flipped onto her back and starting rolling and wiggling around. She looked like she was having so much fun.

Harvey had a great time with friends today. In the morning he was super energetic and ready for his morning outing. When he got outside he made sure to greet all of his friends before running around the yard. He was very playful and jumped around with Riley and Dushka. Next, it was time for his walk. Harvey walked with Amira and Riley. He had a great time as usual! A little while later he went out for his next outdoor play time. He ran into the yard excitedly and greeted all of his friends. He began to chase around Dushka and Riley as they had found a nice toy to play with. He chased after them as they ran around the yard to get away from him. Eventually this led to a match of tug of war with Dushka when Harvey finally caught up to her. Dushka won the match and Harvey had to find a new toy to play with. As he was searching around, he bumped into Riley. They sniffed each other and then Harvey pounced. Riley plopped onto the ground and they started to play. Harvey jumped all over Riley as she was on the ground. Since it was super hot out, Harvey ended his playtime by taking a dip in the pool.

Casper and William had fun today. They were both sitting and wagging their tails when I went to let them outside this morning. They wiggled their way outside for their first outdoor group time. A little while after that, it was time for walks. The boys walked on the grassy trail alongside each other. They had a great time! Next, it was time for the second outdoor group play time. Casper and William were once again so excited to go outside. They immediately greeted everyone and then started to explore together. One at a time, the boys would come over to me for a cuddle. William got up onto my lap and sniffed my face. Caspar had his tail wagging so fast that his whole body was wiggling when he came up to me. Caspar noticed Ryder and Coconut were playing, so he ran over to join in on the fun. They were pouncing all over each other. William then saw how much fun they were having and ran over to join as well.

Ryder had a great day. In the morning, he explored around the yard during his first outdoor time. Then, it was time for his walk. He walked on the trail with Coconut and Keegan. Not long after that, Ryder went out for his next outdoor play time. Instantly when he got outside, Ryder noticed that they were a few new dogs in the group. He went up and sniffed each of them. Ginger seemed to interest him a lot, as he followed her around as she sniffed the yard for a while. Then, another of the new dogs in the group, Coconut, came over to Ryder and started to sniffing him with her tail wagging. She whined a bit, which made Ryder's ears go up and tail wag. Suddenly, they started to pounce all over each other. This caught the attention of William and Casper so they came running over to join. Ryder sat on the picnic bench with me and watched all of the other dogs.

Keegan had a good day today. When he was being let out for his first outdoor group, he ran around the hallway before running outside to check to see if there was anything of interest to him such as a piece of kibble. Unfortunately he was out of luck this time, so he followed along behind his friends outside. He spent his time exploring and sniffing the yard. It was then time for walks after his first outing. Keegan was happy to be walking with Coconut and Ryder. They had a fantastic time adventuring through the trails. A little while later, it was once again time for Keegan to go outside with his group. He was happy to see everyone outside, and enjoyed exploring around again. While I was sitting on the picnic table with Ryder, Keegan came over. He looked up at Ryder and they sniffed each others noses. Keegan then got some cuddles from me.

Xena had a nice day. She hopped out of bed as soon as she realized it was time to go outside this morning. She enjoyed wandering around the yard with the company of Zak and Cesar. It was then time for walks. She went on a walk with Zak and Cesar on the trails. They all enjoyed the walk together. Between the time of her walk and next outdoor group, Xena relaxed and had a nap on her cozy bed. When she was let out for her next outdoor group, Xena instantly started to roam around the yard with her brothers. They went into the grassy part of the yard and sniffed all over. Zak and Caesar began to play, which Xena stood and watched them with her ears perked right up. She came over to me with her ears back and tail wagging. I gave her a quick cuddle!

Syrus was a very excited and happy boy throughout the entire day. Right from his very first morning outing, he always knew exactly when we were coming to let him out and made sure that he was sitting right at the edge of his kennel waiting to hop out. This morning he made sure to greet me as soon as possible with as many kisses as he could give me before running out the door to see his friends. After finishing his morning greetings, Syrus was ready to come back and see me. He was so funny and started jumping in circles around me trying to get me to play. Soon enough it was time to go back inside for his favorite time of day, breakfast! Syrus was just as excited to get outside for his morning walk. He joined two other huskies; our own, Aurora, and another one of Tycho’s daughters, for a very fast paced walk around the field. Walking with his two long lost sisters, Syrus was able to play tackle and chase both of them around for what seemed like the whole walk until I realized we were only half way. This playing continued for quite some time before the three of them jumped into the long grass to see what they could find. I didn’t think Syrus was going to find much until I saw him chasing a little frog. Luckily the frog was good at hiding but Syrus was still very interested in finding it until he finally gave up. Next up was his outdoor playgroup time. Syrus especially loved this part of the day because he was able to race around the yard as much as he wanted to. The games began as soon as he trotted down the hallway and went outside. He soon met up with two buddies, Rex and Jack, and the three of them played like there was no tomorrow! Once all the playing was over Syrus was a bit tired and went over to the pool to cool off as well as relax for a bit before going back inside.

Joey and Giacomo spent their entire day with their new good friend Mel. The two boys were basically jumping all over each other when they were waiting for their first morning outing. Giacomo made sure I knew he wanted to go out by barking, as he and Joey waited as close to their kennel door as they possibly could. Once I let them out they raced down the hallway and into the yard to greet their friends immediately. Mel’s excitement came more when it was time for his morning walk. He just knew that it had to be time to go and could hardly contain his excitement. Mel was hopping up and down at the door until I finally got to him. Once I got there he calmed down a bit and sat nicely for me to put on his leash. As soon as I got it on however, he was just as excited as before; running up and down the hallway, greeting everyone in their kennels and finally trotting out the door into the yard to get started on his walk. When Mel got outside, Joey and Giacomo were right there waiting to greet him. The three friends each gave each other a sniff and then they were off! Each one of these boys was following their noses to their hearts content in the long grass. Mel stayed to the end of his leash beside me in the long grass while Giacomo and Joey continuously got tangled up in their leashes. They kept going from side to side and did the occasional little play fight. By the end of this fast paced walk, I think they were all ready to go inside for some shade and water. This didn’t stop them from being excited for their outdoor playgroup however. This time, all three of them were bouncing around their kennels just waiting for me to take them out. Mel raced outside and once he got out he started doing laps around the yard while occasionally stopping to greet another dog in his group.  Once he got a good bundle of energy out, Mel looked pretty hot and tired so he then decided to go o one of his favorite things; swim in the pool. He didn’t hesitate in the slightest once he got to the pool. Mel just took one big leap in and lied down in the water as fast as he could. He occasionally splashed himself, the other dogs passing by and even me while trying to get me to play with him more. I swear Mel could’ve stayed in that pool all day long if I let him. Whenever he wasn’t in the pool, Mel enjoyed coming over to see me for some attention and was very good at going through the tunnel when I tried to get him to. When Joey and Giacomo first got outside, they let their noses take over, once again. They followed it everywhere together, whether it be along the fence line, in the grass, or even to their friends. Eventually, Giacomo had enough of the sniffing and decided it was time to play. He found a new friend that interested him a lot and decided he was the perfect play friend. Giacomo had his new friend playing all sorts of games with him; play tackling, and even racing around the yard after him. Of course Giacomo also took his turn chasing his friend around but for the most part he seemed to like to be the one getting chased. Eventually he took a nice dip in the pool but didn’t end up staying in for very long. Joey continued to sniff around for quite some time. It seemed to be what he was most focused on. He did however enjoy the company of the other dogs in his group and always checked up on Jack whenever he didn’t know where he was. Eventually Joey came to me for some cuddles, where he got a very nice back and chin scratch. I tried to get him to go into the pool but he wasn’t very excited about the idea. I think he was quite happy to get inside after this long playgroup!

Fez and Rex had pretty different schedules today but they were both so very excited every time they went outside. Fez's day began with some well-known friends in his first morning outing. He wasn't sure that it was his time to go out but as soon as I called him to come outside he was up and ready to take on the day. His spirit from that point and on was just incredible. Fez trotted as fast as he could outside to meet all of his old and new friends. He really enjoyed sniffing them out and seeing if he could find them just like he’d do with me. Once it was time to come in, Fez wanted to play his little keep away game, except the object that he was keeping away from me was himself. He loved it so much outside that he didn’t want to come in just yet. I gave him a few more minutes and he was ready soon after. Next up was Fez's walk. He got a great one-on-one with me this morning out in the front field instead of the usual trail. Fez kept looking up at me and smiling every so often and he looked absolutely adorable doing it. Since it was so hot out today, he was definitely ready to go into the lounge where it was much cooler than inside the kennels. Rex had a very fast paced walk with two other rambunctious boys. He was so very happy to go on his walk that his tail just couldn’t stop whipping back and fourth as fast as possible. Once he saw whom he was walking with, his excitement continued to grow. Rex raced to the end of his leash and immediately began bouncing around with his two friends. He loves to get all wound up on his walk and I could definitely tell by the tangled up leashes that were constant throughout the walk. Every so often, Rex would stop to have a quick sniff in the long grass occasionally and even found a frog at one point. Fez and Rex were both in their own groups today for one rotation but I wanted them to get to see each other in the afternoon. Rex had a very playful and exciting group, which fit him perfectly. He was extremely playful being in this group and it just completely brought out the absolute best in him. To start his group off, he raced around the yard a few times until he found his perfect friend to play with. Once he got them into playing, Rex play tackled until he was completely exhausted. He needed to go lie down in the pool for a little while afterwards. Once he got into the pool, he start digging and splashing in all of the water. He was so happy to be in the pool that he looked as if he was smiling. Later on, the two of us played a bit of fetch before going back inside. Fez had a bit of a more relaxing first group today. He was with a few older dogs, which he fit in perfectly with. Fez’s obsession today was of course the pool. Every chance he got he would take a dip in there and stay in for as long as possible. When he wasn’t in the pool he enjoyed wandering around the yard to go where his nose took him. I think the most exciting part of their days today was getting to see each other. I let Rex into Fez’s group for the afternoon and the two of them were very excited to see each other. Rex followed Fez around wherever he went just to watch what he was doing.

Poppy had an exciting day with a lot of very big dogs throughout her whole day. She started off on a very fast paced walk with two big Bernese Mountain dogs. As soon as she saw that she was going on her walk with them, she started wiggling her little butt as much as she could, as she was very happy. The three amigos jumped out the door with Poppy in the lead. Even though she was much smaller than these two, she sure did a good job of leading them around during their walk. The two boys followed wherever she lead them, which I think she really enjoyed due to all of the attention she was getting. Poppy looked so funny whenever she’d walk in the middle of them because she looked especially tiny, but still very mighty! When it came to her outdoor playgroup time she wasn’t as playful today as normal. I tried to get her to play with a few different toys but she always went back to sniffing along the grass or cuddling with me. Poppy spent a lot of her time cuddling with me. I definitely spoiled her with as many belly rubs as I could. When it was getting quite hot I tried to convince her to cool off in the pool, but she wasn’t completely trusting. I did however, get her to stick her paw in a few times before returning to her venturing through the grass.
