Groups

Millie was so excited to be back. She was especially excited to be in Justice's group. Millie made a beeline over to him and wiggled around his legs. When Justice went running off ,Millie turned her sights on me. She came running over wanting all the love and attention she could get. Once she'd had enough she went trotting off to do a little exploring. Millie finished with whatever she was looking at and went runnig over to see Merlin. They were pretty adorable to watch as Millie rolled all around his legs and jumped on him, and Merlin lay down so she didn't have to reach so far. Her antics caught the eyes of Magic and Stella who came over to see what Millie was doing. Millie eventually became aware of the pool. She went running over and hopped up on the edge. Millie stared at it for a moment before finally hopping all the way in. She was quite happy to splash around with some of the huskies. Millie hopped out of the pool and went runnig off. It wasn't long though before she was back in the pool. The next time Millie got out of the pool she met up with Lilo. The two of them were soon play bowing and running around.

Lilo went trotting out to the agility yard. She went to go trotting out further into the yard when she decided that she wanted some pets and attention. Lilo came and leaned against my legs wanting all the pets. We were soon joined by Kyah who was wondering what we were up to. Lilo and Kyah spent some time circling each other and checking each other over. It wasn't long before Lilo wanted to play and started to bounce around and play bow. Lilo was then distracted from Kyah by Merlin. They spent some time checking one another over. She then went running off to see what was going on in the rest of the yard. After checking out most of the yard, Lilo took a break and headed my way for more pets and attention. She was then feeling all energized so I brought her over to the pool. Lilo wasn't quite interested in hopping in but was happy for a drink. Still wanting to play, Lilo went trotting around checking out the other dogs. Eventually, she met up with Millie and soon they were play bowing and running around.

Mia and Dawson couldn't wait to get outside for their group. They went charging out the door and went racing off into the yard. It wasn't long before Mia and Dawson came racing back to see what was taking me so long. Satisfied I was in fact on my way, they went tearing off once more. We made our way out to the far yard where Mia and Dawson continued to race around. I showed them the rope toy which got them all excited. Dawson tried to steal it from my hands a couple times, but I managed to keep hold and give it a throw. Mia went chasing after the toy and promptly left it where it was. I went and got it to toss again. We did this a couple more times with Dawson jumping at it while I held it and Mia chasing after it when I threw it and then not bringing it back. Eventually, they were tired and needed to cool off a bit. Dawson made his way over to the pool; he wasn't overly interested in hopping in but was happy to have a drink. Mia retreated to the shady section. Dawson and I headed over to join her. We then spent some time hanging out in the shade. Dawson spotted the picnic table and decided it would be more fun to climb up on it.

Ceasar and Monte were both all about the exploring this morning. They made their way out to the agility yard and immediately set out to explore along the fence line. Wanting to get them going I grabbed a ball and called them over. Monte came racing over ready to play. I let the ball fly and he went racing after it. He then promptly left it to go and explore over by the main building. Ceasar took a break from his exploring to make his way over to me for some pets and cuddles. Monte made his way over to get some pets for himself. After he'd had enough love, Ceasar headed back out to continue his explorations. I went and got the ball to see if maybe Monte was feeling a little more up to it. And he was. Monte started to bounce around eagerly waiting for me to throw the ball. This time, he chased after the ball and brought it back. We played fetch for quite a while until I changed it up to see if he could catch the ball. Monte caught one and fumbled the other. Ceasar made his way back over to me to watch his brother's antics while also indulging in some pets. After a couple more rounds of fetch, Monte and Ceasar headed off to do some exploring.

Tinkerbell was bursting with energy this morning and she was more than ready to get outside with her group. She led the dogs into the yard to explore and enjoy the nice weather. Tinkerbell said a quick hello to everyone, spending some extra time with me to cuddle, and then went racing to the other yard. She decided to explore the grass and set out along the fence line. The tunnel was fascinating to her, and I tried to persuade her to stick her head inside, but Tinkerbell was content to just sniff it thoroughly before moving along. She bumped into Obi and the two girls suddenly froze where they were standing, and then Tinkerbell jumped forwards and poked Obi with her nose. Obi then changed her mind about playing and wandered away. Tinkerbell ran over to see me instead, so I entertained her by pretending to chase her around the yard. I would shuffle my feet towards her and Tinkerbell would play-bow, and then she’d leap onto my shoes. After she had enough of the game, we made our way over to the shady area of the yard where some of the other dogs were lounging. Tinkerbell climbed onto the picnic table and sat there until it was time to head in.

Gracie is such a sweetie. She was doing a bit of everything today. Just like the other dogs, Gracie was delighted to be outside and trotted around to say hello to everyone. She pretended to ignore me every time she walked past until she eventually gave in and came to cuddle with me. At this point, the rest of the dogs started to run around, so Gracie went racing after them. She was so immersed in the game that she almost didn’t notice the tunnel in front of her and had to do a flying leap over it at the last second. Not even the slightest bit fazed, Gracie went hurtling after her friend Pippin. After a bit, the energy in the yard died down and everyone went their separate ways to explore. Gracie decided to sniff along the fence and munch on the grass. She also made a stop by the pool to get a drink. Unfortunately, some of the other dogs had the same idea, and they all jumped in. Gracie was standing in the wrong spot and ended up completely soaked. She just shook herself off and then trotted away with her tail wagging. Luckily the weather is so warm and it probably felt quite nice to be splashed!

Maggie G. was surrounded by a crazy group of dogs today. Everyone was full of energy and raring to play! Maggie didn’t want to be left out and made sure to take part in some of the activity that was going on. She ran around after Pippin and Gracie for a while and sat back to observe the rest of the dogs chasing each other around. If they ever got close enough to her, Maggie would jump in and race after them for a bit. Eventually, she had her fill of play and wandered over to spend some time cuddling with me. I gave her a nice backrub and then had Maggie demonstrate her tricks for me. She sat down and posed for the camera. When she thought I wasn’t paying enough attention to her, Maggie would poke me with her nose and then stick her paw out for me to hold. After some more attention from me, Maggie went to join the rest of the dogs. Everyone simultaneously decided to make their way to the pool. Maggie climbed right in alongside her group – there must have been at least six dogs in there at one point. I couldn’t even see the water! Maggie seemed quite happy to be squished in a pool with her friends.

Hudson certainly has a lot of energy. He was excited for groups and raced right out the door as soon as it was opened - not even slowing down once he reached the middle of the yard. As everyone else made their way outside, Hudson continued to jog laps around the yard. He must have been warming up for playtime. Suddenly two of the dogs took off for the other end of the yard and Hudson wasted no time chasing after them. Ariel and Nymeria seemed more interested in playing with each other, but Hudson still had a lot of fun running around with them. A few other dogs joined in and Hudson was delighted to have so many friends to race and wrestle with. Eventually, the group calmed down again and Hudson headed for the pool to cool down. He climbed in with Harvey and waded around in the water until Harvey jumped out. With the pool all to himself, Hudson lay right down and was almost completely submerged in the water. He attempted to bite the water and only succeeded in thoroughly soaking every part of him. Once Hudson was good and wet, he leaped out, shook himself off and went flying after Harvey. The two boys wrestled with one another and a couple others right up until it was time to go inside.

Nymeria got along so well with her group today. Everyone was looking to play and she was no exception. She was surprised by her mom, Ariel, and right away the two girls pounced on each other. Nymeria was so happy to see her! She wiggled around at Ariel’s feet and then jumped up and took off. Both of them went racing across the yard. Nymeria led the chase and was soon joined by Hudson and Pippin. She took all of the dogs hurtling towards the tunnel. She sidestepped out of the way at the last second and Ariel went right through the tunnel. Nymeria was ready and waiting at the other end. After a few more laps of the yard, Nymeria and the others all headed for the pool. She jumped right in beside Ariel and Pippin. Ariel attempted to dig through the bottom of the pool and completely soaked both of the dogs beside her. Nymeria was drenched head-to-toe. She didn’t even have time to climb out and shake herself off because three more dogs decided to squish themselves into the water as well. Nymeria was sandwiched between everybody. She eventually wriggled out between their legs and went racing away. Ariel and Pippin noticed this and hurried after her for another game of chase.

Fitz had a nice walk this morning with Monte and Caesar. The boys started out side-by-side and happily trotted next to each other for the first bit of their walk. Eventually, Fitz became distracted and wandered off to sniff something in the grass. After that, all three of them were going in different directions. Fitz took his time to explore anything that seemed interesting and made sure to give me the occasional lick as he passed by. When it was time for groups, Fitz had a lovely day with some of our older guests. He decided to check out the yard with his friend, Cascabelle, and see if anything had changed since yesterday. Fitz found an interesting patch of grass by the fence and spent some time nosing around in it, and munching on it. After a bit more sniffing, Fitz ended up in the shade with Caiden and Sadie, who greeted him enthusiastically, and then they all settled down to enjoy the weather. I walked over to see them and Fitz was so excited to cuddle with me. We sat on the picnic table and I gave everyone some attention. Then Fitz decided that the warm weather was perfect for a swim in the pool. Unfortunately, the pool was a bit too small to do any real swimming, but Fitz was more than happy to wade in the water.

Extra Attention

Hudson was so excited to head out for his extra attention. We made our way out to the front yard so he could hang out on the long line. Hudson set out to do a little exploring but was soon bouncing around me wanting some attention and pets. I asked him to sit so I could get a nice picture. That done it was time to play with the frisbee. Hudon had a blast chasing after it and attempting to catch it mid-air. He was quick to bring the toy back and give it over to me to throw again. After a few more tosses we took a break to have a little cuddle session. We were soon back to tossing the frisbee.

Millie and I enjoyed a nice walk around the field for her extra attention. She stopped to sniff everything she could along the way, taking her time and enjoying every minute of it. After our walk together we headed inside to cool off and relax in the reception area for a bit. Millie wandered around for a while checking things out before laid down on the cool tile. Mind you this didn't last long with Millie of course, and when Tayler came up front she had to go say hi. She checked out the box of toys  and then we continued to spend some more time together before heading back to her kennel for a break.

Training

Hudson was pretty excited to start his training session this afternoon that he forgot all his manners! So we took the time to sit and wait for his leash to be put on and to sit and wait patiently at doors. We then headed outside to go for a structured walk. At first he was all over the place trying to figure out what I was asking of him and after a couple corrections he had it figured out and was walking by my side like a gentleman. We practiced sitting when the walker (myself) stops and again he was so quick to figure it out after about two times of asking him for a sit, it was automatic for him. After our structured walk we went over to the grass to practice some sits and downs. I lured him to lay down the first few times but of course he had that down pat in a matter of seconds and was doing doggie push ups (continous sits' and down's) like a pro. It started to rain so we headed back inside and did some fun recall games. Hudson seemed like his brain was finally getting a little tired so I took him back to his kennel for a nap.
