Groups

Bella and Jake decided to head straight for the far yard when they got outside. They stuck together and it was pretty cute watching them walk around the yard with their heads together, noses to the ground. Bella and Jake spent quite some time going around exploring in the far yard. Eventually they needed to cool off and so headed back to the main yard and the shady section. I decided to tag along. Once we made it to the shade they two of them practically tackled me wanting all the love and attention they could get. Bella even hopped up onto her brother to try and get closer to me. Their antics caught the eye of Austin, who made his way over to see what was going on. Bella left me to see how he was doing and what he was up to. Jake was happy to get all the pets to himself for the moment. He didn't stick around that much longer and went off to rejoin Bella. Jake and Bella then headed off to do some more exploring together, but this time they stuck mostly to the shady section. Eventually they did make it back into the sunshine. They tour around in the grass for a little while before they went to check out the pool. Jake was then pulled away from Bella by Fergus. I'm not sure exactly how it started but which in seconds they were tearing around the yard having a blast.
Monty wasted no time in hopping in the pool. He was a little disappointed when he realized there wasn't any water in it yet. I went around and turned on the hose which pretty much made Monty's day. Monty proceeded to then have a blast batting at the hose. Once the pool had filled a little bit he went from batting at the hose to digging in the water and making some nice big splashes. Monty was still enjoying giving the hose an occasional whack. I turned away for a couple minutes and Monty had managed to knock the hose completely out of the pool and was now playing in the puddle outside of the pool. I decided it might be for the best to turn the water off for the moment. He splashed around a little longer before decided to take a break from playing in the water and go do a little exploring around the yard.
Austin is such a little cutie. He headed out to the yard and set out to start exploring. Austin then stopped so he could check in with me. After that he decided to tag along with me as I went around checking on the other dogs. It wasn't for very long and soon Austin was off doing his own thing. He seemed to enjoy going around with his nose to the ground checking out any scent of interest. Austin took a break from his exploring when he spotted Bella, Jake, and I hanging out in the shade. He made his way over to see what we were up to. Austin ended up spending some time with Bella checking one another over. He finished with Bella and headed out to continue his explorations. After a little while Austin figure it was a good time for some cuddles. He came trotting over to me and asked for some pets and ear rubs. Once he'd had enough Austin headed out to see what the other dogs were up to and to check on anything that caught his eye.
Leah and Poppy went trotting out to the agility yard. From there they split up. Poppy's attention was completely grasped by something on the other side of the fence. Leah continued to trot around the yard before joining her sister by the fence. Eventually they both got tired of trying to figure it out and set out to explore more of the yard. Poppy was once again distracted fairly quickly and stopped to spend some time checking out stuff in the ground. Leah continued to trot around looking for something extra special. She ended up meeting up with Dragon. They spent some time checking one another over. Poppy saw this and made her way over to spend some time checking Dragon over as well. It wasn't long before Dragon was asking Leah to play. She wasn't quite sure at first, but it wasn't long before she was play bowing and wanting to bounce around. Poppy caught up in the fun and started to bounce around as well. They ran around with Dragon for a little while before Leah and Poppy took off running together. Poppy smelt something and came to a sudden stop. She then spent quite some time tour in that particular section of grass. Leah let her sister explore and continued to race around.
Splash was quick to make his way out to the far part of the yard. He had the area all to himself for a while, but it wasn't long before he was joined by Poppy. They spent some time checking out their own sections of the yard. Once he'd seen enough of that section of yard, Splash went trotting out to check out more of the yard. He headed in my way so we could have a bit of a visit. Splash didn't stick around too long as something in the grass caught his attention. He ended up off wandering around in the grass some more before he made his way back to me. Splash was happy to get some more pets and cuddles. He headed out and then stopped to watch Feist play in the pool. Splash then decided to go and rejoin Poppy over in the part of the yard in which they had started their morning.
Feist watched the others enter the agility yard. She decided to spend some time hanging out in the shade by the entrance for a little while longer. I ended up calling her to come join everyone and she was so quick to come running into the yard. Feist spared me a quick glance before she went straight to the pool. She was quick to hop in. After getting her feet wet, Feist hopped back out. That last all of a minute and then she was right back in the pool. After getting a wee bit more wet, Feist headed out to go do some exploring around the yard. I think that lasted all of two minutes and then Feist was back in the pool. Now nice and soggy, she decided it was time for pets and cuddles.
Ranger seemed to have a distinct plan for what he wanted to do today. He wasted no time in starting on exploring things around the agility yard. I couldn't quite figure out if Ranger had a specific path he was taking or if he was just following his nose and going wherever it led him. Since it was rather warm out I tried to encourage him to get into the pool. Ranger wasn't ready for that just yet, though and continued on around the yard. Next thing I know his head is up and he is bee-lining it for the pool. Ranger double checks that there is in fact water in it, then climbs right in. With his feet nice and wet, he got out of the pool to go do some more exploring. That lasted about a minute and then Ranger was back in the pool.
Tanner started his morning with some exploring around the yard. He found the grassy sections of particular interest. Tanner soon got tired of exploring by himself so he slowly made his way over to where a bunch of the others were gathered around doing some exploring of their own. After he had spent some time with them, Tanner branched off once more to do his own thing. Tanner eventually made his way over to me. We had a nice little visit before he headed out to check out even more of the yard. Tanner eventually had gone all around the yard and pretty much checked out every little thing. He then spotted Poppy and I hanging out over by the main building and decided to make his way over to join us. Tanner was then hit with some zoomies and started to bounce around my legs and go through my legs. He then went bouncing off to see about playing with Dragon, Poppy and Leah.

Millie and Finnigan had so much fun out in the yard today that they didn't want to come inside one bit once there group time was over. Even with the heat and all of the running around they did, it's nothing but a quick splash, or in Finnigan's case, roll around, in the water can do to energize them right back up and keep them cool. Once Finnigan and Millie ran out the door they ran all the way to the other end of the agility yard where Finnigan began to run around in circles right away. This sparked Millie's interest, of course, and she stopped sniffing the ground immediately and scurried over to see her best pal. Finnigan started playing with some of our huskies at first. He loved it as they all surrounded him and he tried to bounce around them to get away. When that didn't work he would start to roll around in the dirt until all of them started to bark at him and he would jump up super quickly then run off. Millie followed of course and this time Finnigan was interested in her, the two jumped around each other as Millie tried to jump up onto him. Each time she tried to do this, Finnigan would run like the wind to the other side of the yard. Eventually he found himself jumping into the pool where he laid down right away to cool off and to get his entire body wet. Millie jumped in right after him as she was chasing him during their game of tag and walked around in the water for a bit as she took a few drinks out of it. All that running around can surely make a dog super thirsty and in need of a break. Once they both hopped out, Finnigan found a rope toy on the ground that he scooped up as he ran by it. Millie was really interested in it too once she saw him fling it around in the air and started to chase him to get it. I ran over and snatched it from him as the two of them were jumping up to try and get it from me. I placed one end in Millie's mouth and Finnigan grabbed the other end and they began to play tug-of-war.
Piper was the first one out the door this morning when I let her out and she ran as fast as she could into the agility yard before any of the others. She began by sniffing around the rocks and made her way to the outdoor kennel where she spent some time digging her nose through the tall grass to try and find something interesting. Once she saw that everyone made their way to her in the agility yard, she popped her head up and trotted over slowly to go and greet all of the other dogs. Right away you could see her interest in a bloodhound named Wally. They walked in circles as they sniffed each other from tail all the way to their nose. Wally wanted to play with her really badly and jumped up to show her but she wasn't quite ready and walked off to go and explore by the pool. She sniffed it carefully before stepping in and taking a big gulp of the water to cool off, she stood in there for a minute before she got some random energy and ran over to go and see Wally once more. The two jumped up on each other for a bit before running over to the door to relax with all of the others.
Caesar and Monte had a very relaxing day outside in the sun today, it took a little motivation for Caesar to get up out of bed and join the rest of his group but once he got out the door he was ready to explore and socialize just like all of the others. He and Monte took off on their own and began to walk around the yard and sniff around. Monte was walking along the rocks and digging his nose in them to try and get them to move so he could smell underneath in the dirt. Caesar wasn't exploring in any direction in particular and wandered the yard on his own while stopping to sniff whatever interested him in the yard. Monte walked over to a big group of other dogs to say hi once she was done exploring. Caesar followed her over their but only stayed for a moment and walked back over to me to say hi. He rubbed up against me to get lots of cuddles and once I stopped he would walk away for a second then come right back to get more. As I was petting Caesar, Monte took it upon herself to jump right in the pool after she saw a couple of the others go in and splash around she decided to as well. Caesar watched from a distance and kept his eyes on her as she was jumping around, for some reason he didn't want to go in as well.
Roxy, Trixie and Charlee were all so excited to go out for their walk this morning. Once I went in their kennel they started to run around me and hop up with excitement. I had a few treats in my pocket and once I brought them out in my hand and showed them. All three of them sat so pretty and waited until I gave it to them. Except for Trixie, she chomped it right out of my hand as I was giving Roxy hers. During their walk, Charlee walked along side me the whole time and took it easy in such hot weather, while Roxy and Trixie decided to race along the trail to show off how fast they both can go. We ran for a while then eventually had to stop since Charlee and I just couldn't keep up with these speedy guys. Once they got outside for their group they seemed to be much more relaxed, though. The trio made their way over to the far yard where they all began to explore around the grass. Roxy and Trixie couldn't keep their noses out of the grass as they were sniffing it, meanwhile Charlee found it entertaining to hop up on any surface that was above the ground and gave him some height. He spent his time sitting on top of all of the big rocks, the picnic table and even tried to jump up onto the agility tunnel, but didn't succeed unfortunately and walked around it instead to go back to the rock he was just sitting on. Charlee loved it and would stand there as he watched all of the other dogs run around and explore with each other. Roxy and Trixie weren't in much of a playful mood and kept to themselves as they were outside today, even though they were enjoying themselves as they trotted around the yard. Once they were done exploring they made their way to the door as Charlee followed behind and all laid out in the sun to relax, Roxy kept on nudging up on me to get some cuddles as well.
Kouza and Mika had a quiet day out in the yard today as they trotted out the door and began their day. Mika ran all the way into the further yard where she started to sniff along the rocks alongside one of her dog friends that kept her company. She sniffed each rock carefully as she went on to the next and then the next one after that. Kouza followed me into the grass area of the yard with a little treat motivation to get her going. She loves her treats so much and would basically do anything for a little snack. Once she walked out into the grass she did some tricks for me such as sit, lay down and paw. After I gave her another treat I was kneeling beside her and she popped up her head and attacked it with kisses. I cuddled her a bunch as Mika ran over to see what was going on. I reached my hand out to pet Mika but Kouza didn't like the company and ran back over to the door to relax in the shade. Mika approached me carefully then stood there for a bit as I pet her. After that she made her way over to the pool where one of her dog friends was sitting in. She walked around it a few times as she sniffed it a bunch to decide whether or not she wanted to join the others. After a long deep thought she stood up onto the ledge and dipped one paw in then ran away, all the way to the further yard where she continued to explore along the rocks outside.

Extra Attention
Millie loves going outside for her extra attention time. We went for our customary walk, but this time we went to the opposite side of the field, starting the trail backwards. Millie was confused for a second and turned to walk back from where we came. She looked at me as if to tell me I was going the wrong way, but I ensured her that we were the only ones out in the field and we could go where we wanted. Millie suddenly got the zoomies, and ran around and around me as far as her leash would allow. Since it's so warm out today, Millie and I wandered leisurely around and then went back inside to hang out and cool off. Millie spent some time with all of the staff and Julie in the reception area before going back for a little nap.
Feist got so excited when I joined her in her kennel. She bounced around before demanding pets and cuddles. I was more than happy obliged her and we cuddled up on the cot for a while. After a little while I went to see if the play room was free so we could spend some time in there. Feist was excited to get out of her kennel and as soon as she saw the play room door open she want racing inside. We spent some more time cuddling.
