Tsavo and Cai couldn't wait to head outside. As soon as I opened their kennel they booked it out the door. Tsavo and Cai went trotting around checking on what everyone was doing and then decided to go and actually say hi. They both took an instant liking to Rosie. Tsavo and Cai were both determined to get her to play with them, but Cai was quickly distracted by Adele. Tsavo stuck to her guns and started to follow Rosie around, trying to convince her to play. Cai and Adele were quick to start bouncing around and wrestling, having a great time. When they got tired, the two of them headed out to explore the far yard together. Tsavo, still not having much luck with Rosie, decided to make her way out to join Cai and Adele. Tsavo had a particular interest in exploring on and around the pallets. After the far yard had been thoroughly checked over, Tsavo, Cai and the rest of the group went running out to the agility yard. Cai spotted Justice over by the tunnel and headed over to see what he was up to. When Justice went through the tunnel, Cai followed him on the outside of the tunnel. The two of them then went and did some exploring together. Tsavo had found someone else to follow and was tagging along after Magic. They went trotting all around the yard. Tsavo took a bit of a break to check in with Cai. Satisfied he was fine, she went racing after Magic and out to the main yard. Cai noticed Tsavo had left the yard and decided to follow her out. He spotted Mocha and made his way over to see if maybe she might want to play. She didn't so he settled for some belly rubs.
Issy and Mocha wasted no time in taking up their customary actions. Issy went wandering around the yard with her nose to the ground and Mocha went and sat next to the door. When the rest of the group went piling in to the main yard, Issy decided it was time to go and do some exploring in the agility yard. I headed over to go and have a visit with Mocha and see if maybe she wanted to do anything else. She seemed pretty happy where she was and in no rush to move. Rosie curious about Mocha made her way over to say hi and check her over. Mocha didn't seem to mind the visitor and they spent some time together. They were then joined by Tsavo who was very focused on getting Rosie to play with her. Once they left, Mocha went back to her silent contemplation. I left Mocha and went to go check on Issy in the agility yard. She was having fun trotting around checking everything out with no disruptions. The rest of the group followed me out so Issy decided to make her way back to the main yard. Along the way she met up with Rosie and Magic, who she spent some time checking over. I headed over to have another visit with Mocha. She was happy to get some pets and I finally convinced her to get up and do a little exploring. Cai ended up coming over and seeing if Mocha wanted to play. She wasn't in the mood to play, though and went and sat once more.
Adele was full of energy this morning. She went bouncing out there door and immediately set sights on Cai. Adele went trotting over to say hi and see what was going on. Not too long after that they were bouncing around and wrestling. When they had tired each other out Adele decided to use her hound nose and do some exploring around the yard. After Adele had thorough checked over the far yard we decided to make our way out to the agility yard. She put her nose back to the ground and set off to sniff all that she could sniff. As Adele was going around the yard she remembered the pool. She went trotting over and climbed right it. Unfortunately had I hadn't started filling it yet, but she didn't seem to mind too much. Adele hopped out of the pool and went to see what was going on with some of the others. When she was done, she quickly decided it was time for some pets and attention. Adele came and leaned herself against my legs wanting all the love I could give her, and greatly enjoying some bum scratches.
Dougie was impatiently waiting for it to be his turn to head outside. As soon as he got out the door he took off around the yards checking on what everyone else was up to. Dougie then met up with Topher and from there it was all about him. They went racing around the yard together having so much fun. Dougie and Topher's fun so caught the eye of a couple other dogs who came running to join in. The other didn't seem to mind and the racing and fun continued. Eventually the heat started to get to Dougie and he needed a bit of a break. He decided to go and do some exploring aruond the yard. Dougie ended up over by the play structure and found it quite interesting and spent some time checking it over. As soon as he had his breath back he was ready to play some more. Dougie went to go and get Topher to play once more, but ended up meeting up with Mylo. The two of them took off running. I decided to make the group head to the agility yard and the pool. Dougie took another break from playing to check out a particularly interesting section of grass. Once he was done with that he went and hopped in the pool.
Dexter seemed pretty happy to be back for a visit. He sat waiting patiently in his kennel for it to be time for group. As soon as Dexter got outside he decided he had to thorough check out all the yards to see what all had changed since last he was here. He didn't spent much time in the main yard before heading out to the far yard. It was apparently much more interesting as Dexter's nose hit the ground and barley lifted after that. At one point while he was looking at something over by the fence, he was joined by Dougie and a few others. Dexter said his hellos then moved onto a different part of the yard. A little while later while he was exploring he was joined by Summit, who was very curious about what Dexter was looking at. They ended up spending some time together checking out everything in the grass. Summit left for a while so Dexter continued on his own. He kept his nose to the ground and I'm pretty sure he was checking out every blade of grass. Eventually Summit ended up going back to see what Dexter was looking at now.
Xena made her way out into the yard with her brothers. The three of them then decided to go around and check some things out together. We all ended up in the main yard and Xena became aware of her shadow and my shadow. She found them quite fascinating it was adorable to watch her cock her head from side to side trying to figure out what they were. After some more shadow fun, we headed out to the nice grass yard. Xena set out to do some more exploring with her nose close to the ground. While she was occupied with that I went and started to fill the pool. It barley had any water it in, but that didn't matter to Xena and she was there within seconds and climbed right in to get her feet wet. Zak noticed what she was up to and went over to join her. He ended up taking over the pool, since it wasn't really big enough for the two of them. Xena didn't let him have it for long. She was soon inching herself in until she forced Zak out.
Teddy and Percy were both so excited when they came in this morning but they let out most of their energy during their walk they had together along the trail. Percy couldn’t stop bouncing around the hallways until we got out the door and Teddy was waiting there so eager with his tongue hanging out just waiting to get started. After they came in they seemed pretty tired and rested for a little while before going outside for their group. As they got out into the yard, Teddy wasted no time before starting to run around. He began to run in circles around the dogs as they were saying hi to one another. Percy was being super social at first and went over to all of the dogs to sniff them as Teddy ran laps around him. Teddy ran over to me and wiggled his little body into my lap for me to pet him. He only stayed for a second, though before he jumped back and started running around again. Percy took off to go explore around the agility tunnel. He loves to sniff along all of the grass to see what he could find hiding in there. Once he was done he ran back over to the dogs and started to jump up onto them to play. Teddy decided to join in and ran over to jump up a few times as well. Whenever he would jump up he quickly jumped back off of them and play bow to try and get the others to chase him. No one was ready to play, though so he kept on running around on his own. Percy made his way over to the pool since he was out of breath and needed to cool off. He jumped right in without hesitation and began to drink some of the water before splashing around in it. He really enjoyed digging in the water as if it was dirt, even though he couldn’t dig through the bottom of the pool and it just ended up getting me all wet whenever I stood around him, silly guy.
Kimi had a slow day outside today. I think she enjoyed staying in the staff room much more than being out in the yard. When I was in the staff room with her this morning she was laying down on her side with her legs spread as far as possible on the cool floor. I crouched down and gave her a belly rub as she laid there, so relaxed. During her group outside she walked into the agility yard after taking a quick tour of the main yard and trotted over to see everyone. She was being so social at first with all of the others and went up to them and said hi as she gave them all a sniff. Some even wanted her to play and I could tell she was debating it by the way she was bouncing around them. She decided it was too hot to actually play and after a quick sniff she walked off to go and explore along the fence on her own. She sniffed along all of the rocks and then made her way back to the main yard where she rested in the sun. She laid in the sun for a bit before walking over to the shade to lay down but by that time it was time to go back inside.
Keegan and Dugan are both such energetic little dogs. They have so much energy and personality that really shows while they are outside in the yard. Today they both ran out the door, well Dugan ran out, Keegan was a little distracted by the other dogs in the hallway and he wanted to say hi first, but once they got outside the two began to use all of their energy right away. Keegan started running in circles around where all of the dogs were. He was so excited that he would run and do a circle then run over to me and jump up for a kiss. Meanwhile, Dugan was off running in the distance. He took off and started a game of tag with two puppies that were here for the day. He sure loved to play with them and they were the only two that could keep up with how fast he was going. They took off into the further yard and began to run circles around the agility tunnel as the other two ran as fast as they could to try and catch him. Finally they caught him by going on either side of him and he began to roll around on the ground as they pounced off of his tummy. Keegan trotted over and watched as Dugan was enjoying himself, but he didn’t want to play. Instead he would rather have the company of a human. He sat up on the picnic table with me and cuddled onto my lap like a baby.
Maya and Rocky were both super lazy today; I think it was from the heat. Maya used up all of her energy during her walk this morning. She was running the entire way along the trail. Every time she finished sniffing something along the grass she’d all of a sudden bolt ahead of me so eager to keep on going. By the time she went out for her group she had used up most of her stamina and just wanted to relax alongside Rocky. The two walked out the door and it wasn’t even a question that Rocky would just sniff the fence for a second before going to lay down in the sun. He loves to relax and always goes to his special spot to sit and watch all of the others play. I think I even saw him doze off for a second until one of the dogs ran over to wake him up. Rocky walked out into the yard and roamed around it for a tiny bit. He stopped to sniff a few of the dogs but after that she was done and just wanted to lay down. Maya walked back over by Rocky and found a nice spot on the ground. She stayed there with a big smile on her face, watching everyone.
