Cattery
Gizmo has been enjoying lounging on the ledge of the cat tree. He looked up from his perch when I came in to greet him, then went back to relaxing. I headed over and offered him some pets. Gizmo was more than happy to receive some chin scratches. After a little while it was time for Missy to have a turn out in the room. Missy was curled up in her cubby when I opened her door. She greeted me then started to roll around in her bed. After I gave her some pets she got up to go and climb the cat tree.
Groups
The littles were the first group of the morning. Ghria seemed pretty happy to be back and say hello to everyone. After all the greetings were done she went racing around with Maya and Benji. Maddie, Nellie, and Charlee headed over to see about joining in the chase. It wasn't long before the five of them were racing off to the far yard. Charlee needed a bit of a break and left the fun to just watch for a little while. Maya was curious as to why he stopped and went over to check on him. Benji saw Maya and Charlee and couldn't resist going over to say hello. When his curiosity was satisfied, Benji went trotting off to the main yard. Ghira, Nellie and Maddie continued to play and have a great time. Maya went racing back to rejoin the fun and Maddie left to check on Charlee. When she had finished that, Maddie made her way over to visit with Teddy and I. Teddy was feeling a little chilly and had nicely asked for some cuddles, to which I happily obliged. Off in the distance, Charlee went to rejoin Maya, Nellie, and Ghira. Their fun eventually brought them back to the main yard, where Benji had been racing around, too. Rocky who was also in the main yard doing some exploring, stopped what he was doing to go and see what all the others were up to and give them a once over. Since it was fairly cold, we didn't stay out very long and spent the rest of our group time in the indoor playroom. Maya and Nellie continued to play and wrestle and it wasn't long before Benji wanted to join them. Rocky, Charlee, Ghira, Maddie, and Teddy went around seeing what everyone was up to and just spending some time getting to know each other better in between visits with me.
There was no shortage of energy in the next group. Everyone went racing out to the far yard except Riley and Roobee, who headed for the agility gate. Glo and Sally started to race around when Cooper went running over to say hello to go Glo and get her to play. Maggie started running, but then noticed her tail and started to chase it! Thanks to all the hair she has, Maggie actually caught her tail. Even after she let it go, Maggie continued to follow her tail until Glo came over to see if she wanted to play. Zoe, who had been trotting around, came running over. I think she wanted to join Maggie and Glo, but she was distracted by Cooper who was looking at something in the snow. Zoe then switched directions to go join him. Maggie and Glo were soon joined by Sally who couldn't continue to explore while they were having so much fun. Meanwhile, Chloe, who had been roaming around, went running off to find herself a toy. She was soon successful and having a great time running around showing off her prize. She went around to all of the other dogs with the toy hanging out of her mouth so that they could see it. She came to see me, too, and bounced around me when I tried to approach her toy. She was very happy to just carry it around instead of play a game with it. After a little while, I decided to head out to check on Riley and Roobee in the agility yard. The rest of the group tagged along and as we were entering the gate, Riley came running out. He looked pretty happy to see the group and tagged along as Glo, Sally, and Maggie continued to play. Zoe and Cooper were content to follow their noses and explore the new smells together. Chloe brought her toy along and continued to run around with it. Zoe eventually left Cooper to see about joining Glo in some play time. Riley ran off to go and see what Roobee what looking at since she seemed quite interested in what was going on on the other side of the fence. A snow plow was visible through the slats of the fence and Roobee barked at it as it drove past, doing her job as protector of the yard. After the snow plow was out of sight, Roobee went trotting off to see what was going on in the rest of the yard, while Riley tagged along behind his mom. Zoe left Glo to go back to running, and she did a few laps of the yard and watched the others as she passed. Glo went back to playing with Maggie and once again Sally was quick to join them. The group decided to go racing out to the main yard. As they went running Cooper found himself a rope toy. He was quite excited and started to bounce around wanting to show it off. Maggie hopped right to his side trying to get a grip on the toy. Sally, Glo, and Zoe went racing off together, while Riley stood watching them for a moment before he was hit with the zoomies and went racing off around the yard. Roobee saw him take off and went bouncing off after him!
Next up was a bit of a smaller group, and everyone headed out to the agility yard to start things off. Issy did her usual check of the yard while the others greeted each other. Mocha and Tsavo spent some time saying hello to each other and the rest of the group, seeing how everyone was doing. When Tsavo was finished with the hellos, she set off to do a little exploring. Mocha debated on what to do for a little while then followed Tsavo's lead and set out to check things out behind her. Issy was finished with her check of the agility yard went trotting off to the main yard. She continued on exploring and seeing what she could find in the snow along the fence that faces the field. I followed after Issy and the rest of the group followed after me. While Issy stayed along the fence, the others went all around the main yard, letting out their spurts of zoomies. Mocha met up with Justice and she really seemed to like him! They shuffled around each other for a moment before starting to play together! This caught the eyes of Tsavo, Glory, and Brokk who went running over to see about joining in. Mocha distanced herself to watch the others and to wait for Justice to come play again. Tsavo had a turn playing with Justice before he went back over to see Mocha, who was ready to play some more.
Buddy and Molly don't mess around. As soon as their feet hit the snow they launch themselves at each other and start wrestling! To make it even more fun, they like to wrestle as close to me as possible, using me as an obstacle to bounce around. When they needed to take a bit of break from wrestling, they would go tearing off around the yard before coming back and pouncing on each other again. It wasn't long before Buddy was launching himself at Molly wanting to wrestle some more. They did the occasional break to come and get some pets from me, but they spent as much time playing as possible!
The last group of the morning ended up being an all boys group. At first they were all interested in doing a little exploring, but Teddy kicked things off by taking off running around the yard. Clifford, Cai, Spencer, and Percy continued on exploring. Clifford then found himself a bone, which is his favourite item in the yard. Teddy noticed and went running after Clifford. I don't think he wanted the bone so much as he new Clifford would run so Teddy couldn't get it. They had a blast running around together and were eventually joined by Cai and Zim. Clifford was then distracted by Spencer, and the boys said hello to one another. It soon turned into them bouncing around and goofing off. Teddy was quick to go racing over not wanting to miss out on any running. Not too long after that Percy was there playing referee. Cai and Zim had been roaming around together when Cai decided to take a break from exploring to make his way over for a visit with me. He bumped into me gently, looking for some back scratches. When Cai had had enough, he went wandering off to find Zim and to continue exploring. Clifford was curious as to what Cai was looking at and left Spencer and Teddy to go check it out. Around that time, Bentley started to race around so Teddy and Spencer switched to chasing him around the yard. After a little while, Clifford and Cai ran to join in. Percy, who had made his way out to the main yard, came tearing back into the agility yard. As he ran he snatched up a toy with Clifford hot on his heels. While they were racing, Percy spotted another toy and paused to switch. Spencer then snatch up the discarded toy and went racing off to enjoy his prize.
