Chief and Ziggy were enjoying the room when I went in to check on everyone. Earlier, Ziggy had been hanging out on the windowsill, watching the world pass by. When I went to visit, he had moved to waiting at the door ready for me to come and give him pets. As soon as I entered, Ziggy was rubbing against my legs wanting lots of love. Chief was still hanging out in his hammock as comfy as can be. He was happy to get some pets as well. Next it was Missy's turn in the room. She was quick to uncurl herself from her bed when she realized that it was time to get up. Missy then went to climb the cat tree. From there she demanded some love and pets. After I had given Missy lots of attention I went to see Fawkes and Ekkaia. I found Fawkes having a little snack and Ekkaia relaxing in one of the smaller cubbies. Ekkaia was eagerly awaiting some pets and scratches. He really leans into the love, at one point he stood up so he could lean his whole body against me while getting ear rubs. Fawkes hopped up to join his brother. He was happy to receive some good ear rubs.
Groups
Max and Sadie couldn't wait to get outside and see who was in their group. Max went racing over to see Scarlett and shortly after they were joined by Aurora. Scarlett then left and Sadie headed over to say hello to Aurora. It wasn't long before Sadie and Aurora started to bounce around and have fun. Max ran over to join in, since he loves to be in the middle of the action! Max then decided to go and visit the people and get himself some back scratches. Sadie was exploring the yard and Max went over to see what she was up to. Max watched Sadie for a moment before going to say hello to Alyssa, who had joined us in the yard. He then felt all frisky and wanted to play. Max went racing over to Aurora while Sadie continued to run around on the other side of the yard.
The first group of little dogs were next up. As soon as he stepped foot outside, Casper had his nose to the ground and was off in search of something interesting. William waited till he got a bit further into the yard before he started to follow his nose. Coco, Timbits, Maya and Rocky also set out to do some exploring. Coco, Timbits, and Maya went straight out to the far yard before putting their noses to the ground, while Rocky was happy to stay and explore the main yard. Benji and Mac were quick to start wrestling and racing around. Baxter tagged along behind them hoping he could join in, and eventually they made their way to the far yard. Baxter went trotting off to see what William was looking at, and William was very happy to see him. It wasn't long before William was asking Baxter to play and they were having a great time wrestling. Maya's exploration was going according to plan and she found herself a toy. She started racing around the yard with Mac on her tail. Baxter left his brother William to his explorations while he went to chase Maya. Coco took a break from exploring to come over for a little visit before going to join Timbits over by the fence that faces the field. William took this opportunity to come to see me for a visit, where he saw Timbits nearby. Timbits was looking at something in the snow and William approached him to check it out as well. Mac and Casper tagged along as well, while Benji came over to say hello before continuing on his way. Casper left Timbits, Mac, and William to go and join Benji. They bounced around here and there, which led to a brisk walk around the yard. Baxter left Maya and her toy to go and see if William wanted to play some more. William was definitely ready, and soon they were having fun wrestling once more. Maya figured she'd take a break while the others played and had a good chew on a toy. Mac saw Maya chewing on the toy and headed over to see if he could have a turn. Maya wasn't ready to give the toy away just yet, and it turned into a game of keep away! Baxter spotted the action and went racing after them. William jumped up to follow Maya, trying hard to snatch the toy. He wound up getting into a wrestling match with Maya along the way and the pair had a good run together. Coco and Timbits continued going around the yard checking things out and sampling ice, while occasionally meeting up to see what the other was looking at. Timbits ended up finding himself a stick, which he tossed around for himself. His game gave him the zoomies and he went tearing around the yard with his stick. I made my way out to the main yard to see what Rocky was up to. He was spending some time sunbathing. He left his post occasionally to explore the newly melted grass and gravel patches.
Our second group of little guys were next up to head outside. Cara was quick to make her way over to Rocky and see if maybe he might want to play. He watched as Cara bounced around him a little before he went trotting off to the far yard. Cara played it cool and came to stand with Ollie and I. I gave Cara some pets, while Ollie decided to make his way out to the far yard to join Rocky. Along the way he stopped and said hello to Tank, then went trotting off to see Rocky. Emma and Nanook were going around the main yard checking to see if there was anything interesting in the snow. When they had seen all they wanted to see, Emma and Nanook also headed out to the far yard. Nanook was quick to find himself a rolling spot in the snowier part of the yard. Emma headed out to do a little tour of the yard, until she decided to head my way for some pets. Ollie thought this looked like a good idea and raced over for some love and snuggles, too. When he came over, Emma swapped out and went to see what was going on around the yard. Meanwhile, Winston, Cara and Brodie were all hanging out by the playroom door together. I came over to say hello and Cara and Brodie zoomed around me before taking off into the far yard. I scratched Winston's head and watched as Cara and Brodie pawed around at the patch of grass by the fence. When Brodie and Cara had examined it to their satisfaction, it was time to go around and say hello to the others. Brodie headed off to the far part of the yard where he met up with Nanook and the boys enjoyed checking things out together. Cara went to see if maybe this time Rocky would be ready to play with her. Ollie left my side for a little while to go and sniff around and do his business, but he was back in no time. Emma left Ollie to enjoy his cuddles and went to have a visit with Rocky who was by the boulders with Cara. Cara saw Nanook, who was making his way over to me, and she ran across the yard to say hello. She was looking for someone to play with, and Nanook was happy to join her. Cara and Nanook were two little white puffs bouncing around the yard, loving each others' pace. Eventually Nanook needed a break, so he headed back out to see Brodie. Winston decided to make his way to the far yard to join the rest of the group. He headed right for the tunnel to give it a good once over. Winston then wandered off to see what was going on beyond the fence. Over on the other side of the yard Emma and Ollie were struck by the need for speed and went ripping around the yard together!
Back in the big dog yards, Glenda Lou led her group out into the yard. Gryphon followed along behind her at a slower pace with the other dogs. He walked along with Timber, who was very happy to spend time with his friends. Timber is such a social guy, and certainly loves all of the company in his group. After he had said his hellos, Timber headed off to do a little exploring until he saw Mia and I standing together. He shuffled across the yard and joined us as we observed the other dogs. Glenda Lou was still racing around the yard when she decided to switch gears and dip into the agility yard. Gryphon was tagging along behind her when he noticed Brenyn roaming around. He stopped in his tracks to see if she was ready to run around. Grypphon and Brenyn raced out to the agility yard after Glenda Lou. Timber decided he liked my slower pace and walked with me. Glenda Lou continued to race around trying to see everything there was to see. Gryphon left Brenyn to go and do a little exploring around the yard. He ended up finding himself a bone which he then half laid down to chew. Eventually he laid down fully, enjoying the toy to the fullest. Timber went to do another round of hellos and headed off to see what Brenyn and Merida were up to. Glenda Lou took a break from racing around to see what her brother was up to when she noticed him burst through the gate. Eventually, Glenda Lou, Gryphon and Timber all came to greet me until we were all hanging out in one big group together.
The next group was all about wrestling. They all went tearing out to the agility yard where they all gathered around to say hi to one another, except Tasha, who hung back for a minute to look around and get settled. Boris and Magic didn't waste a second and started chasing each other and wrestling in between. Bandit and Jack were close by waiting for the opportunity to join in. Jack ran alongside Boris and Magic until he noticed that Molly had found a toy. She and I started a game of fetch and Jack was excited to join in. Finngan, who had been saying hi to Merlin, was quick to race over to join the game when it caught his eye as well. Finnigan managed to steal the toy away when Molly dropped it and he then went racing off with his prize. Finnigan then dropped the toy and Molly ran over to me while Jack went to retrieve it. Soon we had a game of fetch going once more. I gradually moved the game into the main yard where Tasha had been hanging out. She was enjoying going around and smelling all of the new things, but was also happy to see the rest of the dogs. When I arrived with Jack, Molly, Boris, Finnigan and Bandit, Tasha said hello and followed their tracks back into the agility yard. Jack, Molly and Finnigan wanted to continue fetch, while Boris and Bandit did a little exploring. We soon made our way back to the agility yard where Boris went running over to the tunnel and hopped up onto it. Bandit went over to see what he was up to and Tasha watched her son's shenanigans from afar. Bandit hopped around on the ground alongside the tunnel and Boris jumped down to join him in a wrestling match. Tasha seemed to be happy to see the grass and walked around on the freshly melted patch. Finnigan managed to sneak into the game of fetch and catch the toy a couple more times, prompting Jack and Molly into a game of chase. Molly, a professional fetch player, found another toy nearby and we resumed our game while Finnigan ran around with his trophy. Boris joined in for a few tosses before we took the fun inside.
New friends Zoe and Maggie were quick to start racing around together while Chloe went off to find herself a toy. Chloe was successful and brought the toy over so I could check it out. Zoe and Maggie noticed Chloe's toy, they stopped running around to do a quick search of the yard seeing if they could find one of their own. A little while later we made our way to the agility yard where Maggie did a little more exploring before going tearing off around the yard. She soon had Tango close on her heels and he stuck by her for the rest of group time. Zoe continued her explorations as well when we got to the agility yard, and she determined to find something. Zoe went all around the yard with her nose to the ground, only pausing when Tango and Maggie ran over to see if she would join them. Zoe let them go on their own for a while, but eventually joined in a little running with them. Chloe was still all about her toy so she, of course, wanted to play some fetch. When she dropped it for me, I threw the ball and Chloe went racing as fast as she could after it.
Shyla, Kane and Duke stuck together for the first little while of their group time. When we got outside, I tagged along when they decided to head out to the agility yard. Maverick followed Shyla's lead and joined her as she did a check over of the yard. Meanwhile, Clifford greeted Kane who was digging at the ice by the rocks and in the cracks. In the far part of the yard, Shyla and Scarlett were intently checking out something in the ice and Kesler and Oban had their eye on something nearby. Scarlett was curious as to what the boys were looking at and went to check it out. Clifford left Kane to his digging and went go and join Kesler and Oban. Kesler and Clifford parted ways with Oban to join Shyla, and I approached Oban for some one-on-one time. Duke who had been doing his own explorations, couldn't resist the lure of so many dogs concentrated on the same spot and went to check it out as well. Duke did a quick lap of the other dogs and then came to see Oban and I. He got his snuggles and sprinted off to play with Kesler. They zoomed past Oban and I, and Oban caught up with Duke and Kesler and the three boys had a blast together. Meanwhile, Clifford had moved on to a different part of the yard with Scarlett and he kept an eye on the others' antics. It wasn't long before he left Scarlett to her sniffing to go and see about joining in. As Clifford made his way actoss the yard, something caught his eye and he stopped to have a look. Scarlett had tagged along after him, went and joined Duke, Kesler, and Oban while Clifford was busy. Shyla walked up to see what all the fuss was about, while Maverick made his way out to the main yard. Shyla saw Maverick go out of the corner of her eye and went trotting out after him. Shyla and Maverick went straight to where Kane was sniffing. It was pretty cute watching the three of them with their heads together. It wasn't long before the rest of the group joined us and Kane turned his attentions to getting Duke to play with him.
Macie was all about the exploring today. She came over for a quick visit for some pets and love. After that Macie was off with her nose to the ground in search of anything interesting. She made her way around the yard until she spotted Justice checking something out over by the fence. Macie decided to head on over and see what he was looking at. The two of them then went around the yard together. Just before it was time to come in Macie desperately wanted to play with Justice and so started bouncing around and jumping on him.
Enhanced
Ollie is so eager to work. We've been doing a little training throughout the day especially working on not jumping up. I've been aiming to redirect the behaviour to him sitting instead of jumping up and he's starting to get the idea. When it was time for our structured training, we did some 'sits' and 'stay' and recall. We also tried to work on 'down', but we need some practice with that one yet.
