Gizmo was lounging in the windowsill when I entered the cat room. As soon as he saw me, he went leaping down to come rub against my legs. Gizmo then proceeded to reach up to check out my hands and the camera. After he had given them a through examination he was happy to get some cuddles. It was then time to let Allie have her turn around the room. I put Gizmo in his cubby then went to let Allie out. She was curled up fast asleep in her bed. She gave me a one-eyed look when I opened the door. Allie then curled up into a tighter ball and went back to sleep. I left her to her nap since she didn't seem ready to get up quite yet. When I went walking past about ten minutes later Allie was awake and playing on the cat tree.
Groups
The first group of the morning started out by taking things slow. Benji set off to do some exploring and check on what the others were up to. Bogart was all about getting my attention. He bounced around my legs and actually got some pretty good height on some of his jumps. Eventually Bogart left me to go and do a little exploring of his own. While Benji was going around the yard he decided to take a little break and help himself to a nice ice chunk. As soon as he was done his ice snack Benji went trotting off to continue his explorations. Bogart came bouncing back over for some more pets. Benji went trotting past us and Bogart left to go and see if Benji wanted to play. Pretty soon the two of them were having a great time wrestling.
The second group of the morning couldn't wait to get going. Sadie was quite popular, as she usual is. Almost as soon as she got outside she went trotting off with Barley on her tail. Sadie then found herself being asked to play by Kane. They bounced around a little until Sadie went to see what Lobo was up to. He had been doing a little exploring in the snow, but seemed happy to stop when Sadie turned her sights on him. When she moved on, Lobo went back to exploring. Kimi stood a little ways away watching what was going on. When Sadie went running out to the far yard Kimi decided to follow, along with the majority of the other dogs. Kimi met up with Barely and the two really hit it off. When they went to go racing off together Sadie went bouncing past. Kimi switched focus and went charging after Sadie. Soon they had quite a group running after Sadie and Lobo even joined in. Barley ended up dropping out of the race to have a roll in the snow. Kimi decided that was the perfect time to pounce on him. Somehow not too long afterwards Sadie, Kimi, and Lobo all surrounded Kane to give him a group hello.
Max couldn't wait to get outside and see Rosie and Ivy. He was so ready to play, but the girls were very concentrated on exploring around in the snow and ice. Max did some running around on his own to let some of his wiggles out. He then settled down to do some exploring of his own. Max would check in with the girls every now and then and see if they were ready to play. I called him over and told him I'd play with him. Max was quite excited and started leaping around me and being a big goof.
The next group was a mostly huskies with a dash of golden and a hint of beauceron. Molly didn't seem to mind being the only golden. She went racing out to see about finding herself a toy. Molly was overjoyed as she looked around the yard to find that there were several toys laying around since the snow melted on the weekend. She spent some time with one rope toy only to move onto another fairly quickly. For the next little while Molly spent some time deliberating on which toy she should choose next. Boris was super excited to get outside. As soon as he saw me come out the door he came racing over to leap up and try and give me a kiss. Boris then went tearing off to the far yard to play with Magic. Tasha was a little calmer than her son. She looked pretty happy to be outside, but was happy to got trotting off to do some exploring. The group then made their way out to the agility yard. Molly left her rope toys behind and turned her attention to her fellow non-husky, Bren. They spent some time trotting around the yard together. Boris took a break from running around to do some exploring with Tasha. Of course it didn't take long for him to go back to playing with Magic. Molly left Bren when she noticed some new toys. Instead of playing with them, she decided to roll on the toys. When she was all finished, Molly chose a ball to carry around and play with. Boris and Magic's antics eventually caught Molly's eye and she went running over to see about joining in. The group ended up making their way back to the far yard where Molly returned to her rope toys. Boris went over to join her for a little while before going to see what Tasha was up to. He then found himself being tackled by his mom. Tasha and Boris then had a great time wrestling.
Next up was a very fun group. The majority of the group went running out the agility yard. Naughty had other ideas, though and went racing off to the far yard. She then realized she was alone and went sprinting out to the agility yard. Brooke was there waiting for us when we entered the yard. She was waiting patiently for me to give her some pets. Hobart was nearby as well, but he was more interested in checking out things in the snow. After that Hobart decided to take advantage of the quiet main yard and went to do some exploring. Kizmet made his way over to the gate to see what was keeping us, and went to go explore around once he saw the rest of us coming. Naughty caught Finnigan's eye as she went racing into the yard. He stopped was he was doing to go and chase after her and see about playing. Off in the other side of the yard, I spotted Teddy staring out beyond the fence. I'm not quite sure what had Kizmet's attention, but he refused to turn his focus away from it even with Chloe playing close by. Kizmet was stopped by Brooke who wanted to give him a good once over and see how he was doing. They ended up walking around together for a bit until Brooke made her way over to me for some more pets. Kizmet soon decided he didn't want to stay away and came over to join us. Naughty took a break from running with Finnigan to throw herself to the snow and have herself a good roll. Brooke saw this and went running over to go and play with Naughty. Finnigan wasn't too far behind either. And just after Finnigan came Chloe, who proceeded to try and steal Finnigan away from Naughty. She loves to run and pounce and Finnigan is a great match for her energy. All the fun got Kizmet curious so he headed over to check it out. Teddy apparently done with whatever had him so enthralled headed over as well to see what everyone was up to. He and Kizmet then met up and made their way out to the main yard. The rest of the group decided to tag along. Hobart upon seeing everyone invading decided it was now time to check out the agility yard. Along the way he was stopped by the others wanting say hello and see how he was doing. Hobart then paused to say a quick hello to me and to get some pets before he manged to get out to the agility yard.
We had another group heavy on the huskies up next. Everyone seemed pretty excited to get outside. Buffy and Shyla came bouncing over wanting some attention and to see what we were going to do. Maverick was quick to start playing with Scarlett. Storm noticed Maverick and Scarlett and came running over to join in. Maverick and Scarlett were very focused on their play time and Storm waited patiently for the right moment to join in. Storm was determined and joined his friends when that moment arrived. Aura had followed her brother over but she ended up meeting up with Buffy and soon the two of them were having a great time together. Shyla decided to go and do some exploring around the yard while the others wrestled. Dexter came trotting over wandering what everyone was up to and found himself being swarmed by the others who wanted him to play. Dexter didn't seem to mind and was quite happy to join the fun. Shyla apparently could only stand to be away from the action for so long, though and she came running over to see what was going on. All of the dogs needed a break after a little bit and everyone split up and headed out to do some exploring around the yard. I decided to go and have a visit with Aura. Storm saw us and came running over wondering what he was missing. After doing a little more exploring in the agility yard we headed back out to the far yard. Once we got out there everyone seemed pretty content to stick with the exploration theme and did just that.
The last group of the morning were quite happy when was their turn. Heidi came bouncing over to say hello and see about getting some attention and pets. Chloe C., Oliver, and Cooper all set out to do some exploring around the far yard. Chloe was of course looking for a toy and was soon successful. She quickly decided it wasn't quite the right toy and so ditched it to continue her search. Knowing there were more toys in the agility yard, I ushered the group out that way and Chloe was happy to go trotting off and discover the new toys. Oliver and Cooper seemed content to continue their own explorations. Heidi found herself back at my side and she was then quite happy to receive some more love and pets. When she had finally had enough, Heidi went trotting off to see what the others were all up to. Chloe found a toy that seemed to meet her expectations a little better. She picked it up and went trotting around for a little while. Chloe then dropped it to have some fun whacking at it in the snow. Oliver decided to take a break from exploring to go and do a little socializing. He went trotting over to see what Parker, Bruiser, and Pheobe were up to. When his curiosity was satisfied he went trotting back off to continue his explorations. Chloe while having fun with her ball ended up letting it get just that little bit too far away. Cooper was quick to go and snatch it up and he had some fun tossing it around before he went racing off with it. Chloe was close on his heels, determined to catch him. Cooper ended up dropping the ball when he ran into Parker, Oliver, Heidi, and Bruiser. He then decided to leave the ball and do some socializing. Chloe was quick to snatch her ball back and go racing off.
