Allie was curled up all snug in the hammock of the cat tree when I entered the cattery. She popped her head up when she noticed my entrance. I headed over to give Allie some pets, which she was quite happy to receive. After a little while it was time for Allie to go away so Gizmo could have his turn out. I think he was aware it was his turn as he started to bang on his door asking to come out. As soon as I released him, Gizmo hopped out, had himself a good stretch then came over for some attention.
Groups
First group of the morning were ready to rock and roll. Zak and and Finnigan met up and were soon wrestling and having a grand old time. Shenzi, Kaos, and Bella left them to their fun and went to go and check out the agility yard. Kaos and Shenzi didn't stay exploring long and were soon racing around together. Zak and Finnigan came charging into the yard not long after. They took a brief break from playing to say hi to the others. When he was finished his greetings, Zak was off running with Finnigan and Kaos. Shenzi couldn't resist all of the action and bounced over to join in as well. Bella was happy to continue trotting around, rooting in all the fresh snow. She did take a bit of a break to come have a little visit with me. While running around, Shenzi spotted a toy sticking out of the snow. She went charging over and snatched it up then proceeded to shake it around for a while. Zak, Kaos, and Finnigan continued to play and wrestle. Eventually we decided to make our way out to the main yard for a change of scenery where Zak went over to see what Bella was up to. He then decided to tag along after her while she trotted around. Shortly after Bella figured it was time to play and she wanted to play with Zak. Kaos, Shenzi, and Finnigan took a break from playing to do some exploring while Bella and Zak bounced around together.
Molly and Hobart were very opposite in what they wanted to do for their group. Molly was so excited to get outside and went racing off to find herself a toy. Hobart looked at me as if to say "really, MORE snow?!", but he was a trooper and went out to do some exploring in the white stuff anyway. When Molly and the rest of the group went charging out to the agility yard, Hobart stayed to continue exploring in the main and far yards. Molly soon found herself the toy that she had been searching for and was quick to give it a good shake. She was satisfied just to find the toy, so she left it on the ground and went racing off to see what the others were looking at over by the lounge. When she was finished investigating, Molly went racing off once more. Along the way she found herself a bone and she settled down to have herself a nice chew. Some of the rest of the group started run around so Molly left the bone to join in. She didn't leave it long, though and was soon back enjoying it. Hobart eventually made his way out to the agility yard and set of to thoroughly explore it like he did the other yards. Kane started to race around with Barley, Bren, and Merida. Molly couldn't resist and went racing along with them.
Next up were the little guys. Benji was about to go running off when he realized he hadn't said hi to me yet. He came racing back to do just that, and after a brief hello he was off once more. Duffy was hanging out nearby as well, though I think he was hoping I would tell him he didn't have to stay out in the snow. He eventually headed back towards the door and spent some time saying hello to Julie who is always intriguing in her wheelchair. Duffy then went trotting out to do some exploring out in the far yard. Benji thought this seemed like a good idea and headed out after him. Benji could only stay exploring for so long and started ripping around the yard as fast as his feet would carry him. I made my way over to have a bit of a visit with Duffy who was looking very adorable in his sweater!
Brooke was so excited to get outside. She happened to find herself a toy pretty much as soon as she got outside. Brooke came bouncing back over to me to show it off. Naughty noticed this and came over to see if maybe she could steal it away. Brooke did a good job a keeping the toy away from Naughty. The two of them then went trotting out to the agility yard together. Teddy and Kizmet both seemed pretty happy with all this new snow. Almost as soon as Teddy got into the yard he was on the ground and rolling around. It was rather funny to watch since he sat to scratch himself then just kind of melted to the ground. Kizmet thought the rolling looked like a good idea. He went a few feet away till he found his own rolling spot. When he was found the right spot, Kizmet dropped on the ground and rolled around as well. Teddy got up for a second to see what his brother was up to but was quick to go back to rolling around. Across the yard, Naughty was also having a grand old time rolling around and Brooke headed over to see what she was up to. She then decided to leave Naughty and go and do some exploring in the snow. Teddy and Kizmet were finally on their feet. Teddy looked like he wasn't quite sure what he wanted to do with his yard time now while Kizmet went to do some exploring. Naughty walked past Brooke so Brooke decided to just tag along with her. It wasn't long before Teddy was back to rolling in the snow. This caught Brooke's eye. She then went bouncing over to see if maybe he might want to play, but Teddy was absorbed in his rolling session. Brooke shrugged it off and went to do some more exploring. A little while later Kizmet was being asked to play by Teddy and the two of them then had a great time wrestling. Nearby Naughty was asked to play by Ranger. Soon it was like wrestle mania with Brooke refereed.
Next up was a group heavy on the huskies. Luckily they all look pretty different so keeping track of everyone was easy. It didn't take long for some crazy antics to start. Boris and Storm were quick to start wrestling and running around. When Shyla started to run around they decided to tag along with her. The red heads, Maverick and Aura, as well as Tasha wanted to do some exploring first. The three went around the yard, crossing paths occasionally as they sniffed around. Storm and Boris took a break from wrestling to have a look around the yard too. It didn't last long, though Boris and Storm were soon back to wrestling and racing around. They were joined by Maya and Chico. Aura was done with exploring for the moment went running over to see what Shyla was up to. The two of them then went trotting off together. Aura then left Shyla to watch the boys' antics. I think she was thinking of joining in, but then decided against it. Not too long after that we went out to the agility yard. Tasha was already there and was off exploring. As I was walking, Maverick made his way over to come for a quick cuddle. He then went trotting off to check things out. Boris and Storm ended up over by the tunnel and Tasha. They both put their noses to the ground to do some exploring when Tasha decided that she quite liked the look of Storm and very much wanted to play. Shyla had set out to tour the yard. She soon found herself being followed around by Maya and Chico. Storm saw this and left Tasha to see what was going on. Aura and Maverick were off around the edge of the yard checking things out and exploring in all the snow. After a little while the whole group ended up in one particularly interesting section of snow. When Tasha had seen all she wanted to see she decided it was time to play with Aura.
The second last group of the morning was a bit of a quieter group. Buffy was quite excited to get outside and get moving. As soon as she got out to the agility yard, Buffy was off running. After she had done a tour of the yard it was apparently time to socialize. Buffy went over to see what Justice and Merlin were up to. Dexter headed out and got straight to business. He was very intent in checking out all the new snow. Buffy, done with Justice and Merlin, went trotting off to see what Scarlett was looking at. Dexter became interested in what they both found so interesting and so went trotting over to check it out himself. Once Buffy had seen enough she made her way over to me for a little visit. It was nice to have all of the dogs moseying around happily, each looking at different parts of the yard but making sure to go and visit one another in between.
The last group of the morning was a fun group. Chloe and Heidi went running out to the far yard right off the bat. Chloe was quite happy to discover a toy shortly after. She snatched it up and went racing off to show it to the others in the agility yard. At the same time, Duke and Bruiser came racing out to join us. Chloe then changed her mind and she was switched directions she spotted a new toy on the ground. This was apparently a better toy and she quickly dropped the other one. Duke and Bruiser continued to play and wrestle and just have a great time. Heidi planted herself near me and watched their antics. Cooper then came trotting out to the far yard. He watched Duke and Bruiser for a moment then went to go do a little exploring. Heidi was then ready to play and went to see about joining the boys. Chloe was now having fun whacking her toy around in the snow while the others met up to play. This caught Phoebe's eye as she roamed around and she went to see if she could snag the toy. Chloe managed to keep her toy and keep playing. When the group went to run out to the agility yard, Chloe snatched up her toy so it could come along too, of course. As they headed out Oliver met them at the gate. He had just been coming to join us in the far yard. Oliver was happy to turn back around and go back in with the group. He was then quick to go back to exploring around the yard. Duke and Bruiser continued to play but now they had the addition of Cooper. Oliver then noticed this and went to see what all the excitement was about. He didn't stick around long and was soon back to trotting around the yard. Heidi took up her position next to me to watch the others antics and get some pets at the same time. Chloe went back to whacking her toy around in the snow. She was pretty funny to watch and some the snow splashes were quite impressive. Cooper eventually took a break from playing with Duke and Bruiser so he could have himself a bit of a roll in the snow. Oliver decided this was his moment and went to see if maybe Duke and Bruiser wanted to play. Heidi apparently needed more love and sat in front of me, giving me first one paw then the other. She's so cute! Oliver saw us hanging out and came over to join in. I gave him some back scratches under his coat and he wiggled around, apparently enjoying it very much!
