Bella and Jake are such a lovely pair to
walk. Today they walked with Resa, one of our rescues. This trio is fabulous
walking together, always sticking to the trail motoring on ahead of me with
their noses to the ground. On our walk this morning, Bella was feeling pretty
frisky towards Resa. She was bouncing all around her, even pawing at her side,
inviting her to run around with her. Resa was happy to give in and briefly
danced around with Bella. The pair quickly realized they had wrapped their
leashes around Jake, who was standing in shock behind them. Bella stopped
playing and wandered back to Jake to give him some kisses, apologizing for
wrapping him up. Jake wasn’t bothered, quickly leaping over the leashes and
motoring on ahead to continue walking. In the yard today, Jake was full of
energy. He was so happy to have so many dogs in his group who wanted to zip and
zoom around the yard. Jake spent most of his time outdoors bolting after Tag
and Dj who were glued at the hip. These two raced in circles around the yard,
non-stop, as Jake bolted after them trying hard to stay on their heels. He did
a great job keeping up, stopping occasionally to check up on Bella. Jake also
took a break from his running and playing to cuddle with me when he spotted
both my hands being free. As Bella saw Jake-getting bundles of cuddles, she
came zooming over looking for attention too. Bella and Jake were happy to then
keep each other company as they sniffed around the yard before heading indoors
to warm up.
DJ was on a mission to play from the moment
he got into the yard today. It took him no time at all to meet the wonderful
Tag, and get racing around with her. Tag has been doing so awesome with us on
her daycare days. She is coming out of her shell more and more each visit,
gaining confidence with all the dogs. Tag and DJ was a match made in heaven
today. Both of these young, spunky, pups wanted nothing more than to zoom in
circles around the yard. DJ got the games going by quickly sniffing Tag over
then play bowing to her, inviting her to play with him. He quickly darted off
before she play-bowed back, knowing that all he wanted to do was run. Tag
wasn’t going to let DJ get far before she got her legs moving and joined in on
his race. Tag caught up to him very fast, and was soon on his heels bolting as
fast as she could behind him. This pair was fast as lightening, zipping in big
circles around the grass yard. A couple of their group mates, including Jake,
Resa, Tinkerbell and Miko joined in on their games for a little while. Resa did
an excellent job keeping up to these speedy pups while Jake was much more
focused on pouncing on them rather than running. Jake briefly slowed them down
by pouncing right on DJ looking for a wrestle. DJ was happy to pounce around
with Jake, but soon got back to running laps with his best buddy Tag. Tag
really tired herself out by running, and running, and running, non-stop. Just
before it was time to come in, she finally sprawled out on the grass, lying
down to catch her breath while some of her group-mates sniffed her over. It
didn’t take her long to re-charge her batteries and participate in one
excellent race before it was time to head indoors.
Tinkerbell is sweet, and spice, and
everything nice. She is such a great addition to our daycare group as she
enjoys participating in a large variety of activities. Tinkerbell always starts
her time off in the yard keeping the independent dogs company as she sniffs the
perimeter of the yard getting familiar with her surroundings. As time goes on
she will wander into the center of the yard, checking out all the playful pups
deciding who she wants to goof around with. Today she found herself dancing
around with Merlin and Miko, before retreating onto a rock to supervise her
young brother DJ playing. Tinkerbell doesn’t mind being apart from DJ, doing
her own thing, but when he gets going she really likes to watch him and
supervise his every move. She decided to race around with him and his best
friend Tag for a bit, before realizing they were much too fast and crazy for
her. After a couple laps around the yard, Tink retreated to my side where she
politely asked for some cuddles. I was more than happy to kneel down and let
her jump right into my arms. Tink gives great kisses and cuddles, which always
draws attention from other dogs. As her group-mates began to leap all over me,
asking for attention too, Tinkerbell decided she would hop up on the picnic
table to get a better view of all the dogs. She watched her friends playing
around from higher up for a brief amount of time before hopping down to check
up on DJ once more. Tink found herself right in the middle of a big chase,
involving Dj, Tag, Jake and Resa. She was happy to participate for a short
while before breaking off from the group to do some more sniffing and exploring
before heading indoors.
Lola was feeling pretty calm today, as this
weather isn’t too inviting. She spent some time sniffing around the agility
yard before making her way back to the door to keep Julie company. I noticed
she looked chilly, so I gladly picked her up and gave her a good snuggle. She was
thrilled to have a cuddle buddy, snorting and wiggling around as I held her in
my lap. She then stuck around in the grassy yard; looking for some more pats
and cuddles. She was happy to get so much attention today. After lots of
cuddles Lola then made her way to the edge of the grassy yard to do some
sniffing. Pearl and Miko kept her company in the sun for a while as she rested,
watching all the young pups goof around. Pearl had a good day today, as always.
Her nose kept her very busy for the first portion of her outdoor time. She
wiggled her way all around the yard with her nose pushed hard against the grass
ans she wandered around. Pearl didn’t want to leave any scent behind. Her good
buddy Miko towards the end of outdoor time, when he not so gracefully asked her
to play, interrupted her. Miko practically flew across the yard right at her,
pouncing on top of her. Pearl stood up and shook off his invite to play, and
then kindly gave in to his request. The pair frolicked around fro a bit,
wrestling and boxing, causing quite a scene. Group mate Merlin also joined in
on their fun, creating a fun trio. These three played around for a little bit
before Pearl decided she wanted to do more sniffing with her sister, Lola,
before heading indoors for a snooze.
Merlin is such a great addition to our
Tuesday daycare days. He is always so excited to partake in any action, whether
it is running, playing, or simply cuddling into my lap. Today Merlin did a
little bit of everything, with a smile on his face the entire time. He was so
thrilled to see two new friends, Dj and Tag partaking in some intense racing
around the yard. Merlin wanted nothing more than to zip around with them,
however these two have longer legs than him and could move very fast. Merlin
tried his ardest to keep up, but ended up running in smaller circles in the
muddle of the yard while they ran in bigger circles on the outskirts of the
yard. His tactic worked very well, as he stayed pretty close to them. After he
out-ran himself, he made his way to my side to get some attention. Merlin is so
soft I am always more than happy to nuzzle into him. He gave me some good
cuddles and kisses before breaking away from me to meet up with his buddy Miko.
Miko and Merlin were so cute together, pawing at each other’s sides politely
inviting one another to play. Finally, Miko made the move and play-bowed to Merlin.
Merlin happily took the invitation and leaped right on him. Miko and Merlin
made for a great wrestling and boxing pair. Equal in size and strength, resulted
in a fair match, with lots of pawing and bouncing around. Miko was so thrilled
to have a friend who liked to play just like him, which kept him very busy for
his whole outdoor time. Of course, Miko took a break from Merlin to meet up
with his girlfriend Pearl and play around. He also happily played around with a
stuffed animal for a while, until Merlin came bolting back at him inviting him
to play some more. Both Miko and Merlin were ready to head back indoor into
their kennels where they both cuddled up on their cozy blankets to snooze away
the afternoon before their next outing.
Dougie was thrilled to start his morning
off with an individual trail walk since his walking buddy wasn’t here yet. He
loved the extra attention and happily frolicked along the trail. Dougie is a
strong and energetic boy therefore I couldn’t wait to get him out in the yard
with friends to run his energy out. Out he went springing into the yard with a
great big smile on his face just in time for the sun to come out. There were
lots of energetic pals in this group to keep him entertained like Charly one of
our daycare girls who is toy obsessed. Dougie loved watching her run back and
forth to fetch the toys and although he wasn’t interested in stealing the toys,
he would nudge her on her way back to start a wrestling match and she happily
accepted before fetching the next toy. Dougie also met the lovely Husky sisters
Francis and Nu-nu who were just as eager to play as he was. Francis joined the
chase between Dougie and Charly who were running laps around the yard and
stopping to wrestle in between. Dougie loved having the company of these two
ladies this morning and was definitely in need for an afternoon nap before
heading back out to do it all over again!
As per usual, the first thing Chloe C. did
when she got into the yard was spot out the toys she could play with and get
them in her mouth before someone else could. She grabbed the blue Frisbee and
even went about her business with it in her mouth just to ensure no one could
get it. It was a good thing she did since there were some other toy fanatic
pups in the yard including Chloe S and Achilles who would give her a run for
her money. This happy go lucky girl made her usual laps in the yard, toy in
mouth, making sure to do a few jumps on and off her favorite agility tunnel. It
wasn’t until then she noticed a new toy in the yard I placed out there just for
her, an orange rope toy. She thought to herself, how can I get both the rope
toy and Frisbee in my mouth at the same time and her eyes got big with
confusion. Too late, Achilles quickly snatched it up so she continued on her
way with hopes that he would forget about it soon. There was another special
lady out with Chloe C today and that was the sweet Kai. At first, one might
think that she is quite reserved due to get sweet and gentle nature but boy was
I wrong; she had a blast today chasing and playing with big Barley who can get
just about anyone to chase him with his goofy personality. Kai found it quite
amusing to watching him run laps around her, making sure to stop and lye down
in the mud puddle, why is it that all the white dogs immediately find this
puddle? He was clearing enticing her and the others to play because she dove in
head first towards him and jumped up on her hind legs in excitement to wrestle.
From the corner of my eye I could see her ears flopping in the wind as the
group of dogs gathered together to play. She also met Magic the Husky and
really took a liking to her as well and the three of them were inseparable for
the rest of their time outdoors.
It was a big and exciting daycare group
today including best pals Tasha, Boris, Max and Sadie. The four of them wasted
no time and immediately got to playing, it had been a couple of days since they
had seen each other so that meant a fun and playful time together. Boris and
Max started to wrestle and Max gave him his typical play-bow, meaning he was
excited for the invitation to play. These two goofy boys found the only dug up
hole in the ground and thought it was a good place to play. They each took
turns lying down in it as the other pawed and barked from above. This got the
girls going and they ran over to play, Tasha jumped up on Boris’ back while
Sadie tried to grab a hold of Max ear to get him out of the hole! Meanwhile,
Percy another fun daycare pal barked in excitement as he ran circles around
them and would join the chase action, they were usually chasing Boris who would
sprint across the yard with Max not far behind. Mocha and Issy couldn’t believe
all of the commotion before there eyes but that didn’t stop Issy the curious
girl from making her usual rounds in the far yard. She just made sure not to
get in the way. Everyone was very interested in these two ladies as everyone
always is. Mocha was very brave today and ventured away from her usual spot at
the door and happily let everyone come over to give her a big sniff and hello,
she is always good to tell them when they are getting too close like the
confident girl she is. Issy eventually made her way back to keep Mocha company
as they watched the crazy five in the far yard; I stood with Mocha for a bit
for some extra cuddles as we watched together. Back in the far yard, the
playing continued and they all took turns chasing after one another. Sadie was
especially playful today and enjoyed Percy’s vibrant personality. I can always
count on Tasha and Boris to get the group going because if they aren’t
wrestling with one another, Boris is usually off enticing someone to chase him
and that means Tasha won’t be far behind. As usual Max is always that one to
take him up on the chase offer with Sadie right by his side.
