Goliath was quite happy with all of the dogs today! He enjoyed a walk with Delilah and Tayler this morning, and after that it was group time. Goliath hurried out the door and immediately bounded over to say hello to Maggie and Joey. The three of them sniffed each other over and then Goliath slipped away to see what the other dogs were doing. He bumped into Cabot and Tupper, and happily pounced on Tupper in greeting. The two of them briefly wrestled and bounced around together. Soon Goliath was on the move again. He said hello to Teddie and Kizmet as they were exploring, and chased after Arly and his toy. Eventually Goliath ended up beside me, looking for some cuddles. I gave him a nice back rub and then we walked around the yard together while Goliath sniffed anything that looked interesting. After a bit, he met up with Joey again. Goliath quickly play-bowed and then they both went racing across the yard. The two of them were happy to wrestle and play for a while, until everyone slowed down for a break, and Goliath went trotting off to explore some more before we headed inside.
For his extra attention today, Goliath and I made our way out front. We headed over to the long leash, with Goliath darting back and forth, trying to sniff everything on the way there. I found a Frisbee hidden in the grass and Goliath quickly bounced to my feet, waiting for me to throw it. He enjoyed chasing after it, but every time he caught it he couldn't quite figure out how to pick it up, and just pounced on it instead. We played with the Frisbee for a while, and then Goliath was happy to show off his skills with sit, lay down, and paw. After that Goliath enjoyed a nice cuddle session.
Teddie and Kizmet were very excited for their walk this morning. They joined their friend Arly and I, and quickly got to work sniffing the trail. Teddie attempted to keep up with bouncy Arly and he was zig-zagging in front of me, trying to check out everything that Arly had been interested in. Kizmet, on the other hand, was much happier to just stroll along beside me and occasionally pause to stick his nose in the grass. Everybody was ready for a nap once we got back, and Teddie and Kizmet sprawled out on their beds to rest before groups. Once it was time for groups, they were both on their feet in a flash and out the door in no time. Kizmet seemed to have more energy than his brother this time, and headed over to check out the bone that Arly was chewing on. He even played a short game of chase with Arly. Every once in a while, a dog would wander past and Kizmet would bounce around with them before he returned to sniffing. Of course, Kiz couldn't let group time pass without his cuddle time! He sat down and happily flopped against my legs while I pet him and we watched Teddie exploring the yard. Teddie was in the center of all activity today, and although he wasn't quite in the mood to play, he seemed to appear every time a few of the dogs started running around. Teddie would cheer them on and occasionally join in for a brief wrestle with one or two of them. When he wasn't taking part in the action, Teddie could be found with his nose in the grass or snuggling beside me for some attention. Overall the two of them had quite a fun day!
Maggie was in such a good mood today. She started things off with a fun walk today alongside Aurora and our puppy Vega. She mostly entertained herself by exploring the trail, though occasionally Vega would bump into her and the two of them would bounce around while Aurora observed. Maggie had a great time playing with Vega. She was still looking to play when group time came around, and hurried out into the yard to see who would run around with her. Maggie decided to see what one of the new dogs, Joey, was up to. They both gave each other a good sniff and then bumped shoulders before trotting over to the grass together. The two of them explored the yard for a while, and whenever they crossed paths, Maggie would play-bow and they would both bounce around. Eventually the pair split up and Maggie wandered over to say hello to me. She flopped down at my feet and waited patiently for some cuddles. Once Maggie was satisfied with her back rub, she went bounding away to find someone else to keep her company. She was racing back and forth across the yard, clearly on an important mission. She said hello to Charlie, Teddie and Arly, before ending up beside Joey again. This time they were joined by Goliath, and Maggie cheered on the two boys as they wrestled. They all seemed to be good friends by the time we headed inside!
Charlie had a great first day with his group. After walks this morning, he bounced out the door with everybody else and was soon racing around to say hello to everybody. He slid to a stop at my feet and I had him sit for a picture; I hardly had time to pat him on the head afterwards as Charlie was running off again. He was so excited to explore. Once all of the dogs had been sniffed, Charlie set to work sniffing the yard instead. He poked his head in the tunnel and walked right in one end. He marched back out as fast as he could, leaping away as if nothing had happened. Eventually Charlie slowed down and wandered over to see what I was up to. I could tell he was having fun because he had a big doggy grin on his face. He leaned against my legs for some cuddles and watched the rest of the dogs going about their business. Charlie was calmly making his way to the other side of the yard when suddenly he got a burst of energy and went flying towards Tupper, who stepped out of his way and watched in confusion as Charlie ran around the yard. He was racing laps for quite a while before Charlie finally bumped into Arly, Goliath, Maggie and Joey, who were bouncing around with each other, and he leaped right into the middle of the action. Needless to say, Charlie was ready for a nap once groups were over.
Tasha and Boris were so excited for it to be time for their group. They went charging out the door with Justice, Molly, and Charly. As soon as everyone got out to the agility yard Boris, Tasha, and the others started to race around and wrestle. They all went tearing around the yard a few times. Boris then noticed Magic looking at something in the rocks and became curious. He went trotting over to check it out with her. It wasn't long before they were joined by Charly and Tasha. After that particular section of rocks had been thoroughly checked over. Boris decided to head off and check out more of the yard. Tasha set out to do some exploring of her own. She did a quick lap of the yard before making her way over to see what Boris was looking at. Not finding what he was looking at overly interesting Tasha went trotting off to do her own thing once more. Boris left what he was doing to make his way back over to Magic. They spent some time rooting around in the dirt together. Tasha grew bored of her exploring and went to see what Molly was up to. She did a little pounce and whacked Molly with a paw. Molly wasn't overly pleased with that action and decided not to play with her. Justice had made his way over to Boris to see if he wanted to run around some more. Tasha figured this was a good chance for some more fun and went and joined them. It didn't take long for them and the rest of the group to go charging off around the yard. They then ended up over by the tunnel where Boris had some fun running on it while fending off the others.
After his very first morning outing, Duffy was happy to stretch his legs out on the walking path with another dog friend and Tayler. Duffy wasn't quite sure what he wanted to do with himself when he first got out for group time. He went trotting out to the yard then made his way back to wards the door. Duffy wasn't interested in the door though, he was intrigued by something beyond the fence and spent some time staring out. Once he was done with the fence watching Duffy tagged along with me as we made our way out to the far yard. He left my side to go tour around the yard and see what he could find. Along the way Duffy spotted Abby. I'm not sure what drew him in about her, but it was pretty much love at first sight. Duffy went running back into the main yard so he could give her a once over. After that he ended up just following her around. Duffy seemed pretty content to trot along after her, pausing occasionally to check out something that caught his eye.
Miko was curled up asleep when I went to grab him for his extra attention. I felt a little bad waking him up, but as soon as he realized I was there to grab him, he got so excited. Miko started bouncing and dancing around my legs as we walked down the hall. When we made it up to the front room Miko went running off to check and see if anything had changed since he was last there. I went and grabbed some treats which quickly got Miko's mind off of the rooms secrets. He came racing over to my feet to demand some treats. I asked for a sit, which he was quick to give. I then asked for a down, which he also did quite quickly. After a couple more sits I tossed some treats so he could hunt for them. Miko seemed to enjoy this, though he didn't put a whole lot of effort into finding the treats. We took a break from treats for some cuddle time. Miko hopped up on the chair and was happy to rub himself against me and the chair while getting a ton of pets. It wasn't long before he was feeling all frisky so I grabbed some toys. Miko settled on the fox toy and had some fun shaking it and dragging it around. He also had a bit of a tug game with Adam. It was then time for some more pets and attention. When it was time for the first group Miko was off getting groomed. So for second group he looked extra handsome. Miko was excited to get outside and went bouncing off around the yard. It wasn't long before he stopped to take a moment to check out a particularly interesting section of yard. Miko noticed me watching and came over for a quick pet. That done he was off with his nose to the ground. Once he was bored of exploring Miko took off running around the yard. There wasn't even anyone playing with him, he was just so happy to be racing around.
Delilah was pretty happy to for it to be time to head out for group. Her tail was wagging as soon as I started heading towards her kennel. We made our way outside to join the rest of the group. Delilah was about to set out to check out the yard when she was stopped by DJ. She stood patiently while he checked her over and then continued on her way once he was done. Delilah went trotting out to the agility yard. Her nose hit the ground and she was off in search of something interesting. Delilah lifted her nose and decided to go a little further into the yard to do some exploring. It didn't take long for her to make her way over to my side for some pets and attention. Once she'd had enough Delilah left me to go and tour around the yard once more. After a couple laps she was back at my side wanting some more love. We were soon joined by Pirate, DJ, and Sunny who all spent some time saying hello. After that Delilah headed back out to see if she'd missed anything interesting around the yard.
Miss Allie was all cozy and cuddly in her nice brown bed this afternoon when I popped in for a visit. She hopped onto the window sill and then onto the cat tree to see what was going on. Since she loves to get into the treats if she has the opportunity, I got out a bag of her favorites and offered her a couple. The crinkling bag got the attention of our other two guests, Cynder and Nightmare and they were right at the doors of their suite, ready to come out. Since the cats hadn't met yet, I opened their door and they bounced right out. Allie watched the new guys a little suspiciously but she was way up on the cat tree, so she was pretty tolerant about them coming out and exploring at the same time. She enjoyed lots of head scratches and seemed very interested in what Cynder and Nightmare where up to, so I left them all out together for awhile. At supper time, after feeding Allie, I opened the cabinet to get Cynder and Nightmare's crunchies ready and was shocked to see all the treats scattered all over the shelves. Allie is famous for getting into treat bags and she had struck again. The funny thing was, she wasn't that interested in being given treats, but getting them herself was much more satisfying.
