What a gloomy day it was! Thankfully though, we get to hangout with dogs all day here at Tails and Trails so this kind of weather doesn't get us down! :). It makes such a huge difference when Sophie comes trotting over to me in the yard to get some snuggles. She has such a warm and welcoming demeanor which just perks you up if the skies are grey and there's a chill in the air. Sophie loves to be around whatever human is in the yard, for the most part, but will occasionally slip off to be on her own so that she can follow wherever her sniffer would like to take her. Charlotte was busy horsing around with her friend Maya. The two of them zoomed all over the yard, attracting the other pups to join in on their fun. Charlotte also broke away from Maya a bit to play with a little cutie named Finnigan, and the two of them wrestled around for a while. Maya has grown into such a photogenic little lady who is quite the discoverer in the yard. In the time we were outside, she managed to find herself a nice bone in the grass which she kept to herself until it was time to go inside. In the playroom, Charlotte and Maya went bananas with each other, chasing each other all over the room. Of course, there was plenty of wrestling fun which means they'll both sleep well tonight!

Emma just cant seem to figure out what Mac's strategy is when it comes to their chase games in the yard. He seems to dart out of her way right as she is about to pounce, which keeps her on her toes. Perhaps sometime soon she'll outsmart him but he just darts away too quickly! Either way, the two of them have a grand old time together! As Mac became preoccupied with a toy, Emma took some time to chase her own tail. This entertained her and I for a little while and then, as she wore herself out and made herself slightly dizzy, I'm sure. She then took some time to quietly explore the rest of the yard.

Well the gloomy skies were not going to get this group down today! Kane got outside with wings on his heels as he got the rest of the group on their feet to chase him down. Boris and Tasha are expert Kane-chasers so they knew exactly how to run him down. Tasha pounced and danced around with Kane just before diving into the longest game of chase I have witnessed in my time here. From a few minutes after they all got outside almost the whole group was engaged in the game and it lasted almost the entire time we were outside. Needless to say, there was not much time for sniffing but Boris did manage to do a little bit of treasure hunting. He found himself not one, but two bones in the yard but the chase was much more amusing to him. Oakley wanted her usual snuggles from me when I first got outside but then with all the commotion going on from the chase, she just couldn't pass up the opportunity to hangout with some of her friends and burn off a bit of energy. Whisper is a good chaser but seems to be a much better referee. She likes to get involved only to the extent of hanging on the sidelines and barking calls to the players involved in whatever game is going on. If she misses anything, Mama Tasha will let the boys know if things are getting out of hand, and Boris always obeys his Mom. Whisper did also hangout for a bit with Oakley. She politely introduced herself and the two of them wandered around the yard for a bit together when Whisper took a break from reffing.

Max and Sadie got a nice walk together this afternoon. The two of them were happy to walk together and make such a sweet walking pair. They each sniffed the same things, darting this way and that to see what went on along the path earlier this morning. After their walk, the two of them got a nice private playroom session where they wrestled with each other until both were equally pooped! They have a way of feeding off each others energy and wear each other out quite quickly. When we go to get them from the playroom, they are usually lying down, having used so much energy to out-wrestle the other.

CATS
It was a good day to be a cat. Instead of having to go outside like the dogs, the two kitties lounged the day away in their nice cozy cat room. Daisy could be found snuggled up in one of her kennel nooks with all her comfy blankets. Kafka could be found snuggling in her blanket nest but got up just long enough to say hi and get a nice neck scratch from me when I came to visit this afternoon. Thank goodness for the nice big window in the room as it keeps the temperature in there nice and toasty warm, like a sleeping bag!
