Victory and Gracie were excited to have Charly the Golden join them this morning for their group outing. Victory was especially pleased to see Charly back, she knows how playful she is and missed her over the past couple of days. Although much bigger, Victory playfully jumped and pawed all over Charly just trying to get her attention away from playing fetch. The two of them ran circles together around the yard and wove in between the rest of their four-legged friends. Gracie excitedly ran and took cover on top of one of the wooden platforms to get out of the way and had her big ears fully perked up in amusement! Gracie was very pleased to feel that warm sun today, a much needed break from all of the rain. She loved to graze her nose amongst the tall blades of grass on the side of the fence to lick the morning dew! One thing is for sure that these two ladies love to get their cuddles in whenever they can. Victory was tongue-out and bum to the ground while she accepted head rubs in the yard. Gracie was all ears and squinty eyes as she got her fair share of attention; spoiled ladies! And the fun didn’t stop there; both ladies headed inside this afternoon for their respective extra attention sessions and took a break in the shade!

Charlee, Roxy and Trixie are just the sweetest trio to ever grace my presence! Their little bums wiggled in excitement when I approached their kennel door bright and early this morning with leashes in hand to head out for their morning trail walk. And not to mention they greeted me with the silliest smiles and were eager to get out the door to soak up that sun! They absolutely adored their trot along the back trail this morning and were just as excited to meet up with the rest of the small-dog gang outside upon their return. Roxy and Trixie noticed that I had treats in my pockets, so they happily followed Bailey and Miko into the far grassy yard to see if they could have a taste! Charlee decided to stay in the front yard to keep pals Bella and Julie company as they explored the yard. Roxy and Trixie were determined to get a treat and sat patiently together while Bailey and Finnegan climbed all over them because they were too excited to sit. At last these two obedient ladies were rewarded with their treat and this got the attention of sister Charlee. She ran over just in time to join sisters and get a snack herself!

Everyone was excited for treats this morning including daycare pals Miko and Bailey! These two are equally full of such great energy and I think the only time they stopped moving was to collect their treats, but then they were off again. Bailey had a blast wrestling with Ringo the spaniel, although an unlikely pair, they were fast friends and Bailey definitely brought out the silly side in Ringo who is a few years her senior! Miko-man was up to his usual shenanigans today, darting back and forth across the yard in usual fashion. He loves when Bailey is in for daycare; these two silly pups feed off one another’s spirited energy and always provide such great entertainment for our boarding guests. Miko ran around so much today, that he had to take a break and join Winston the bulldog in the shade for some rest and didn’t hesitate to come inside today, that’s a change!

Sophie had a huge grin on her face from the moment I saw her this morning, but that’s no surprise! She was ready to get moving after breakfast and marched out onto the trail alongside her walking buddies. She stopped here and there to stand and hold her face up to the sunshine or to roll around in the dewy grass and wildflowers. Sophie was still smiling later on in the morning when it was time to head out for her first group outing of the day. It was quite a warm day and most of the dogs in Sophie’s group were lounging around in the shade and relaxing, but Sophie had to time to rest and lots of silliness to let out. She flew around the yard with her ears flapping in the wind, and stopped to pick up a toy in the grass. I went over and offered to throw it for her, and Sophie hopped up and down in excitement and anticipation. I tossed the toy a few times until Sophie took it to the other side of the yard to have a good roll on top of it, silly goose. Once she’d had lots of fun, Sophie came and snuggled up to my leg to ask for some head scratches and pets with Bode the Husky. She was happy to return to her kennel for a drink and some time to cool down before heading out again this afternoon!

Boris and Tasha started their day off with their usual walk, but were pleasantly surprised to be heading off the beaten path and down by the creek. Katie had her husky Sky off leash when she decided to go for a splash in the water, so Boris and Tasha followed Katie down to the water’s edge. After a good sniff around in the long grass by the creek, Sky led the way back out onto the regular walking trail to finish up their trek. The pair were as thrilled as always to be heading out into the yard on such a beautiful and sunny day with a few of their regular daycare pals, including Grandma Issy, Mocha, and Percy, as well as a newer friend, Sammy the labradoodle. Boris trailed around behind Sammy around the yard, hoping that she’d like to play with him. She eventually gave in to his request and she and Boris hopped around, pawing playfully at one another. Meanwhile, Tasha was busy following her nose around the big rocks, all while keeping an eye on her Mama Issy in case she sniffed out anything interesting. Boris eventually had to head inside to have his bath at the spaw, which was when Tasha decided to let her wiggles out! She jumped up into the playhouse and back down again a few times before racing over to play in the pool water alongside Percy. She was loving the cool water on her paws until it was time to go inside and relax for a while.

If there’s one thing that Percy loves more than toys, it’s the pool! He raced around the yard with a toy in his mouth for the first couple of minutes of our group outing, until he noticed that I was filling the blue pool with cool water. Percy dropped his toy and ran over without hesitating and hopped right in to have a splash. He started digging in the water and it flew out behind him in every direction, spraying some of the other dogs behind him! They didn’t seem to mind the cool down, and Percy continued to dig around for a while until he was sufficiently soaked. I went and found Percy’s toy from earlier and we spent some time playing fetch together, which dried off his coat while he ran back and forth. Percy took some time to relax near the end of our first outing together when he went to visit Mocha, who was sitting in the shade by the door.

Issy and Mocha went for their morning stroll accompanied by Charly the Golden soon after they arrived this morning. The trail is Mocha’s favourite place to be here at daycare, and she was as happy as ever to be out enjoying the beautiful weather beside her best friend Issy. Issy trotted along and stopped to sniff with Mocha along the way, always waiting patiently while Mocha decided to roll around in the long grass. Issy continued to follow her nose and explore in the grass during her group outings throughout the day, while Mocha perched on her favourite place by the door in the shade. Issy met up with her daughter Tasha every now and then to sniff the same spot and say hello, but continued roaming in the sunshine. Mocha had a few visitors on her doorstep, including Percy and I, and I of course gave her lots of head scratches!

It was so lovely to have Miss Sammy back for daycare today! She was very curious about all of the smells around the yard since the last time she’s been with us, and spent some time following her nose and taking it all in. As she roamed, Sammy came across Boris the Husky, who she’s met a few times here. Boris was very happy to see her and offered to play right away. Sammy wasn’t sure she was quite ready, but after a little convincing she was hopping around and pawing with him playfully. After their little play session, Sammy went over to cool her paws in the pool with her friend Percy. Percy was splashing around and spraying water all around, so Sammy didn’t even need to hop in to cool off! She did take her turn in the pool, though and did some water digging herself. Sammy finished off her first group outing of the day by visiting Issy the husky in the shade by the door and getting some pets from me.
