Annie and Zen couldn’t have met a better match for their group playtime today. Tango the pointer mix was infatuated with both Annie and Zen from the moment he met them, and instantly asked Annie to play. She wasn’t quite ready yet, so he moved on to play-bow at Zen instead. Zen took a minute to sniff him over and have a proper greeting, and then hopped into a play-bow herself. Zen and Tango danced around the yard together, while Annie was busy sniffing around by the fence and looking out into the field. After she’d settled in for a little while, Annie got into a more playful mood and accepted Tango’s offer. Tango pawed playfully at both Annie and Zen the whole time we were out in the yard, and they both loved the attention. Annie spent some time in between play spurts to continue roaming the grass and following her nose, while Zen came to get a quick pet from me before going back over to hang out with her new friend Tango.
Dugan and Bailey were inseparable playmates today. Wherever one went, the other was sure to follow close behind. Keegan and I had a great time hanging out together and watching the silly antics of Dugan and Bailey as they sprinted around and play-tackled one another. Keegan was perched up on my lap while I sat on the picnic table and we were lucky to have a few little visitors come to join us. Teeny tiny Coby and Ziggy the Boston Terrier hopped up onto the table top and touched Keegan on the nose to say hello. Keegan always shows off the cutest little smile when another dog approaches him; he’s such a sweet boy! While we were getting comfy on the table, Dugan and Bailey were still rolling through the grass and bouncing off of each other as they went. Coby was getting very excited watching them play and leapt off the table to go and join in the fun. It was adorable to watch Dugan and Bailey paw and pounce so gently with little Coby. Eventually the chase resumed and the three musketeers were off to the races. Although others came and went throughout their time together, Dugan and Bailey never left one another!
Sophie W was full of great energy this morning like she always is. Always the first one out the door and into the grassy yard, she likes to make sure she is the first one to collect all the toys so she can get her quota of rolls in for the day! Always smiling, this lovely girl brings such a fun-loving energy to her groups and today was no different. She was very happy to see gentlemen Titan and Reese and eventually took a break from rolling and ran over to give them a few nose nuzzles to say hello.
Titan was very pleased with all the attention he was getting from his furry four-legged friends and it was such a pleasure to see him back for a visit. He was spoiled with lots of love and kisses today and of course had his fair share of interactions with all the pups. He especially liked Reese the Lab; he has such a calm energy that seems to suit Titan best. Best of all, Titan enjoyed his time exploring the grassy yard, lots to investigate; this little one always had his nose to the ground! Today is Titan’s first day back with us, and we made sure to give him lots of extra cuddles. After his walk and group this morning he joined me upfront for some one on one time. He hopped up into one of our comfy chairs and curled right up. I joined him on the chair giving him lots of snuggles, head rubs and ear scratches. He dozed off as snug as a bug in a rug. After his time with me, we headed back to his kennel where I got him a nice comfy bed to curl up in during his stay with us.
Reese is such a handsome boy and a sweetheart at that! He gets along so great with the rest of our guests and is the perfect addition to his group. Everyone wanted to say hello to Reese today, and he found himself in the centre of all the action and was thrilled with all of the attention he was getting. But most of all, he enjoyed staying close to my side so he could get all the cuddles he could ever want. I was lucky enough to get to spend some one on one time with Reese this afternoon. He and I went for a short stroll down to the creek to enjoy the afternoon outside. Reese watched with wide eyes as a frog hopped from the creek bank into the water and inched closer to watch the frog swim. He contemplated dipping his feet in the cook water, but opted to stay dry for now. We kept walking a little bit down the creek to the bridge, where Reese stood and watched the water flow underneath. Once we'd had lots of fresh air, Reese and I went to hang out together where I gave him lots of pets and attention.
Finnigan was his usual goofy self out in the yard today and as always he was the star of the show! He had a blast running around and wrestling with Reese and Scotch the Labradors and of course he showed off his signature move, rolling over on his back and pawing at the air like he was swimming. This always gives me a good chuckle and he sure knows that every time he rolls over, I am bound to come over to give him some belly rubs. Prior to heading out for his group, he enjoyed his trail walk with little Ringo and Max. Finnigan is such a versatile guy, he can enjoy his time split between both the small and big dog groups!

Stella was very happy to have silly Finn in her group; she is such a social dog and loves being surrounded by good company. You never see this girl without a great big smile on her face and she loves to follow me around the yard, probably because she knows that’s the place to get the most head rubs! She also loves to find out every morning who her walking partner will be, today it was good pal Scotch the lab mix; together they enjoyed a nice trot along the back trail.
