Nymeria was so happy to see me this morning when I walked up to her kennel with a leash in my hand. She started jumping around until I told her to sit so that I could put her harness on. Once we were ready to go we grabbed her new friend Magic and made our way to the door. She thought the trails were really interesting today and had lots of fun exploring through the grass and trees. She was very happy to have Magic with us and during our walk she tried to play with her a few times, which ended up with them rolling around together and then getting up and running to the end of the leash. After walks, it was time to get down to business and work on some of her skills. We went on a structured walk together where I taught her how to walk beside me. Also while on the walk we practiced her sit and lie down which she did very well, and every so often she got a nice treat as a reward. When training was over it was time to play outside with Magic and Tennya. She ran around with Magic most of the time and the two girls wrestled a bit as well. She finally spent some time playing with Tennya who was very happy to join in on the game.
Tennya and I first saw each other this morning when I went into her kennel to give her some extra attention. She really liked all the cuddles that she got and her tail wagged in happiness when I scratched behind her ears. Sadly, I had to leave her for a little while so she could go for her walk on the trails. Once walks were done, it was time to go outside for group time and she couldn't wait to go and explore the yard with all of its new smells that were left behind from yesterday. Right when she got out she put her nose to the ground and started running around everywhere trying to take everything in at once. She couldn't find where the scents were coming from so she decided to go find a good place on the ground to roll around in. During her rolling, she was sneak tackled by Nymeria so to get her back she chased her around the yard playfully. She had such a great day with her friends today and it was great to see her have so much fun.
Maple was so ready to go outside and play with her friends that when her kennel door opened, she ran as fast as she could towards the door. When we finally got outside, she ran around everyone to see who wanted to play and Charlotte happily joined. They ran around just the two of them for a while and then Indi decided to join them. All three chased each other around the yard and then either Maple or Indi would pin Charlotte and she'd get up and they'd do it all over again. After a while, Maple decided to switch things up and so she went and grabbed a toy that she found on the ground. She ran around everyone in excitement trying to show off her prize that she had found. She brought it over to me and I took it and threw it for her to go get. She got it and happily brought it back for me to throw again. Maple had such good day today playing with everyone and also playing fetch with me.
Will started his day off with a nice spa day in the groom room where he got bathed and groomed after his morning walk. After that, he got to take a short nap in his kennel before it was time to go out and play with his friends. At first he went around and explored the yard to see what he could find that was interesting. When that was done, he met up with his buddy Oban who had joined Will before they started to bounce around together and get excited. They left their exploring to chase each other around the yard taking turns to be the one being chased and the one being the chaser. Will had such a great time running around and exploring with Oban today. At lunch Will came up and spent a bit of time with me so that he could get lots of extra cuddles and even a few treats too.
Charlotte and Sophie are always so excited to see everyone and it wasn't any different today when I walked into the hallway and both of them got up with their tails wagging. I opened their kennel door and they both came running towards me in excitement. I gave them both some cuddles before letting them out with their friends. Sophie, being the quieter of the two, went and explored around the yard by herself while Charlotte was playing chase with Maple and Indi. She had so much fun running around with them and then wrestling where she would always end up rolling around on the ground. Sophie watched in confusion at what her younger sister was doing but then decided to come see me for some more cuddles. They both had lots of fun doing their separate things and I had so much fun getting to cuddle with Sophie; she's such a sweet girl.
Achilles had so much fun today with his pals and I. We first got to spend some time together when he went out for groups. Achilles loved how warm it was getting outside and took some time to sunbathe for a bit before getting back to the important task of exploring around the yard for hidden treasure. He put his nose to the ground and began his search in the far corner of the yard where there is a little bit of grass poking out from the other side of the fence. There was nothing there so he continued his search by running around the yard without lifting his nose, even though he ran into a few of the others accidentally while looking. When he ended his search, Achilles made his way over to me for some cuddles. I knelt down and was happy to enjoy some cuddle time with such a nice boy.
Oliver is such a cute boy and I always love seeing him here because I know that group time is going to be lots of fun with him. We made our way outside with his group and Oliver, being the energetic boy that he is, had to go and take a few laps around the yard before going to meet with everyone. He sniffed everyone in greeting but then decided that today was a good day to just run around in the sun and explore a bit. He really liked how nice the sun felt while he trotted around happily especially since their was a bit of a chill in the air. Once his running around was done, Oliver came over to me for some cuddles but then the energetic side of him wound back up and he spent the rest of the time running back and forth in the yard.
Baxter is such a goofy boy and I always find him to be such a fun and adorable dog. Today Baxter was so excited to be outside because he was in a group full of energetic dogs just like him. He thought it was so cool having so many friends outside that looked just like him, too! With this excitement building up, it was time to go and find a playmate. Baxter found the best play partner and this was Molly a doodle, who was twice his size! They were both very energetic and complimented each other perfectly as play mates. They chased each other around the yard and were thrilled when others joined in and this is how Baxter spent the rest of his day with his best friends.
Maggie had lots of fun today with her relaxed group of friends. She took this nice sunny day to spend some time with her friends exploring around the yard. Maggie, being the sweet heart she is, also had to come over for some cuddles before going and looking for treasure. After getting some cuddle time with me, it was time to get down to business and try and find something she could show off to the others. She loved taking time to explore the yard and sniffed and picked up a few toys along the way. She continued on each time, though, and paused to look out into the field. Maggie spent some snuggle time with me as well before heading back inside.
Lola came in for daycare today and boy was she excited when we all walked into the staff room to greet her. She jumped right up for a hug which almost ended with me toppling over in surprise but instead she got lots of head scratches and hugs. When it was time to go outside I sat down in the yard and immediately she went and sat on my legs so I couldn't move. I just stayed there and gave her lots of extra cuddles while we watched the others run around chasing each other. She enjoyed this for a little while until she decided it was time to go and see just how much fun the other were having so she joined in on their play. After a little while of running around with everyone, she seemed like she was having lots of fun but she just couldn't help wanting more cuddles so she came back and sat on my legs again until our time together was over.
