Cats
Daisy enjoyed many cuddles today. When she saw me come into the room this morning, she immediately jumped down from the cat climber where she was curled up and sleeping. She came over to me and started to rub against my legs so I knelt down with her to give her a cuddle. She immediately started non-stop purring. Daisy really seemed to enjoy chin scratches, having her head scratched, and getting back rubs. She enjoyed sitting on the window ledge and watching out the window where the sun was shining on her fur. It was a good place for a nap too!
Dogs Baxter was very excited when I came in this morning. I let him outside for his first group rotation of the day, and he had the best time with his friend Finnigan. Even though it was early in the morning and they had just woken up, they were jumping all over each other and chasing each other around. The boys were practically running laps around the yard. They were definitely like two peas in a pod! After his walk, he was once again playing with his good pal Finnigan. This time they were competing for a rope toy that Baxter had picked up. They looked like they were having so much fun as they were running around. After that, Baxter and Finnigan joined in on Max, Sadie, and Magic's game of chase.
Max and Sadie came in this morning just in time for their walk. They enjoyed sniffing around the trails together. After their walk, they were more than excited to go outside with their group. Instantly, Max started to play with Magic. The two made great playmates. They chased each other all around the yard and had such a fun time. Sadie saw how much fun they were having and started to chase after them. It was non-stop fast paced playing action for Max and Sadie today. A huge highlight of their day was when they were playing with all of the dogs in their group in the agility tunnel. Max would poke his head out of one end then the dogs would chase him around and try to catch him. During the time that they were playing, I thought that would be a good time to work on recall. Max did pretty good with it, when I said "Max come" he would look at me and half the time hesitate then come over or come straight to me. Sadie did okay with it in the beginning, but then as she got more into her game with the other dogs she seemed to want to listen less so we will be working on that! Near the end of the outdoor time, Sadie was all tired out so she found a cool spot by the play structure to have a rest.
Shyla and Maverick had a great start to the day. They were both as happy as could be when I let them out with their group first thing in the morning. Maverick wandered around the yard and came over to me for some cuddles while Shyla followed behind Baxter and Finnigan as they played and she barked at them occasionally. Not long after their group, Shyla and Maverick went on a walk on the trails together. As usual, they had a great time. After walks and on their next outing, Maverick and Shyla excitedly ran out the door to greet everyone. Maverick enjoyed sniffing Amira and Kai, the two new dogs in the group. Shyla enjoyed exploring around the yard on her own but occasionally came over to sniff another dog. Millie was super wiggly this morning as I let her outside. She ran in a circle around my feet then ran all around the yard. Good thing it was then time for her to go on a walk, because she was full of so much energy! Millie walked with Bentley. She enjoyed sniffing along the path. After her walk, it was once again time to go outside. She went out with a new group this time, and made great friends with Charlotte. They almost instantly started playing as soon as they saw each other. Charlotte carefully pawed at Millie, then Millie jumped up onto Charlotte. Charlotte would knock her off then they'd chase each other around. They stuck around and played with each other for the rest of the day! Millie got to spend part of the afternoon with me up at the front for her extra attention. I made sure to give her lots of cuddles and she sat politely for me when I offered her a treat. She curled up onto my lap and sat with me for a while. Cooper gave me lots of cuddles this morning while we were outside on his first outing of the day. He trotted over to me and I knelt down so I could give him some love. He was so sweet and such a little cuddle bug! Today, Cooper got a one on one walk through the trails. He really enjoyed that. After his walk, it was once again time to go outside. He greeted me and all of his doggy friends, then set off to nibble and sniff around in the long green grass that grows around the fence. Every once in a while he'd come back over to me for some more cuddles.
Keegan was very excited to get outside and explore this morning. He had so much energy and that made exploring quite fun He always ran from one end of the yard to the other. He really enjoyed his walk today, as it was a one on one with one of our volunteers. After his walk, he was excited to go outside again with his group. The first thing he did was run around the yard and bark with excitement. He noticed that his friend Jax was playing with a black Kong toy and barking at it so Keegan investigated. Keegan mostly enjoyed exploring around in the grassy part of the yard and sniffing all of the toys laying in the grass.
Mika leaped out the door with excitement this morning and greeted all of her friends happily. She enjoyed wandering around the yard for most of her time outside. It was then time for her walk, during which she enjoyed sniffing along the trails. After her walk, Mika seemed happy to be going outside again. She ran as fast as she could out into the grassy part of the yard. She enjoyed exploring around rocks and grass. Every once in a while, she would sniff one of her friends or come up to me to politely ask for a back scratch.
Maya and Rocky were glad to burn off some energy on their walk as soon as they came in this morning. Rocky took the time to sniff around the trails, and Maya would come over and check out whatever Rocky was sniffing along the way. After their walk, it was time for them to go outside for their first outdoor rotation of the day. Maya was super excited to go outside and greet all of the new friends in the group. Once she greeted everyone, Maya started checking out an orange frisbee that was lying around in the grass. She carried it around for a while, then decided to explore the yard. Meanwhile, Rocky enjoyed relaxing with his face facing the sun. He looked so comfortable lying in the grass that I thought he was going to fall asleep right there! When he wasn't relaxing, he was exploring the yard with Maya. Lexi and Penny had an awesome day. In the morning, they ran side by side out the door and into the yard for their first outing of the day. Lexi hung out with me mostly and got lots of cuddles, while Penny was very adventurous and explored around the yard. During walk time, the girls got to hang out in the playroom together. They enjoyed having that time to play around. On their next outing after their time in the playroom, both the girls were super excited to go outside. Penny was very happy to see a few new doggy friends in the group, and she started leaping around the yard trying to chase them. Lexi was happily greeting friends and getting cuddles from me. Penny was playing with Flora a lot; they would pounce around at each other and it was super silly. Lexi even joined in on their game for a little bit.
Apple and Sky enjoyed a walk on the trails together as soon as they arrived this morning. It was a great way to start their day. After their walk, it was time to go outside for their first group outing. The two quickly greeted all of their new doggy friends as soon as they got into the yard. After that, Apple ran into the grassy part of the yard and started rolling around in the grass while stretching her legs out. Sky enjoyed sniffing around in the long green grass and occasionally nibbling on it. After wandering around the yard for a while, Penny ran up to Apple and began to paw at her. Apple started to pounce around playfully. All of a sudden, Apple took off and Penny started to chase her. The two girls had so much fun playing together!
Batman barked with excitement when he saw me come in this morning. I let him outside with his group, and he seemed quite happy to see them. He galloped around the yard. Not too long after his first outing it was time for walks. Batman walked with his friend Finnigan. They had an awesome time together on the trails. On his next outing after walks, he was also very excited to see his friends in the yard again. Batman happily greeted his group when he got outside. He then ran around the yard and explored for a bit. He loved going from one corner to the other so as not to miss a single smell. Kai had a good first day. When she came in this morning, she was immediately leashed up to get outside for her walk with Amira. They had both just came in today, so they took a lot of time to explore the trails together. After walks, it was time for her first outdoor play time with her group. She greeted all the dogs in her group. Everyone was super happy to see her. She then came over to me for some cuddles. She rubbed her head against my leg then ran off into the yard to explore. She hung out with her new friend Amira occasionally. Viggo was ready to explore the yard first thing in the morning. He ran around from corner to corner of the yard to sniff around. Not long after that, Viggo went on his walk with Charlotte. They had a good time together. After his walk and when he was outside for his next group rotation, he was quite playful. He watched Millie and Charlotte having a ton of fun together. He then went over to Bentley and started to playfully pounce and paw at him. The two boys began to play! They jumped all over each other and were swatting each other off. It was awesome to see these not-always-playful boys have such a great time. Sophie and Charlotte both had a great day. On their first outing of the day, Sophie came over to me for cuddles. When I'd stop petting her for a second, she would rub her head on my leg to tell me she wanted more. Meanwhile, Charlotte enjoyed playing around with Birdie. When it was time for walks, Charlotte went with Viggo on the trails. Sophie went on a shorter one on one walk which she really enjoyed. On their next outing after walks, Charlotte instantly found a play mate, Millie. The girls loved playing together and enjoyed bouncing and pouncing around. They non stop played for the entire time they were outside. As usual, Sophie was getting lots of cuddles from me. She sat at my feet with her head resting on my legs. Birdie had a lot of fun today. First thing in the morning she was already playing with her pal Charlotte. They burned off a ton of their energy by runnning around. When it was time for her walk, Birdie was super excited. She went on her walk with Lola. They had a great time together! After her walk, her group went outside again. Birdie was bouncing around the yard when she got outside. She loved to run all over the place while the other dogs in her group followed. Birdie found a nice spot in the yard to dig around in and Charlotte hung out with her as she worked. After that, Birdie found a frisbee on the ground and picked it up. She started to run around with it as her friends chased her around. |
