Silver was a blast to be with in the yard today. At first he was scoping out all the other dogs. He was in the same group as yesterday so it didn't take him long to figure out who was down to play. He gravitated towards Cooper at first but then decided Madison and Rex were a better fit for him, and boy was he right! Rex was all over Silver outside; jumping on his back, rolling on the ground, getting Silver to pounce on him. These two boys were having tons of fun. Madison joined in not long after and she came in and barelled right into the boys. Rex was the first one back to his feet and ready to keep going. Silver sprung back up right after him and took off across the yard, enticing Rex and Madison to follow. Madison is always so happy to be outside. She will play with any dog that is willing to return the favour. Jasmine was in a spirited mood today! She started off with her usual routine: walking in the main yard, keeping away from the other dogs, and then casually making her way to the agility yard where the games take place. After a little while, Jasmine came up to me and I moved towards her but then she went into a playful stance, inviting me to play. I chased her around the yard but then Madison stole her from me. The two sisters ran around for the remaining time we had outside.
Rex and Fez spent some time apart today. Rex was in the group from yesterday. He is enjoying sharing his weekend away with his new pals. Rex has become best friends with Madison. These two could play together for days and not get tired! They then got to spend time in the playroom together, beyond being outside. Rex was super excited to go in the playroom because there were plenty of toys to play with, from ropes to tennis balls and kongs! Fez spent his afternoon a little more relaxed, hanging out with me in the yard. His favorite thing to do is nudge my hand, begging for me to pet him. Of course I always say yes, just because he is so cute and sweet. Fez loves being outside, but once it is time to come in, he doesn't argue one bit. He settles into a cozy spot on his bed and takes a nice long nap before returning outside later in the day.
Mille had a blast out in the yard today. She and Charlotte were back at it in the yard. These two have the most fun together. Millie is so good with the big dogs, and she makes sure to let everyone know who's in charge. She and Charlotte went about their usual wrestling game. Today Charlotte was making sure to get down and roll in the yard so that Millie could bring her down. Their playfighting is so cute to watch. Charlotte loves that Millie gives her all the attention in the yard, and only likes to play with her. Today Zeus tried to join in on their game and once he came close, the girls stopped playing. Poor Zeus had to find someone else to play with in the yard! After outdoor play was over, Millie was super excited to be inside. She loves parading down the hallways, looking and sniffing the other dogs as she walks by. She went back to her kennel and set her attention on a bone that she found laying in the hallway and didn't look up from it for the longest time!
Sophie was her usual snuggle-bug self outside. It is almost too funny how she tries to keep her distance from the other dogs, but they all seem to drift to where she is in the yard. She eventually makes peace with the fact that they all want to be around her and says her hellos. She and Jasmine have become rather good friends the past few days, sneaking off from the young ones together.
Emma was spoiled today, as she got to spend her spare time hanging out in the kitchen. She loves it in there. She gets lots of visitors coming in and out, and no once can resist giving her some pets and cuddles on their way, so she was loving all the extra attention. It is also warm in the kitchen so it was perfect to snuggle up into her bed after being outside with her group. Outside today, she ventured off on her usual route, making sure she got to every part of the yard. She watched Finnigan and Mac play together for a time, and waited until one of them was alone so that she could take the opportunity to steal them and play with them. Mac went off to see Julie in the yard so Emma bounced up to Finn and the two of them had a quick wrestling match. Emma is so cute when she plays, with her fluffy tail wagging behind her.
Boris was absolutely in love with Zoe today. These two have met before and they decided it was time to catch up with one another. They spent the whole time rolling in the yard and running around together. When their wrestling match would get too intense, sometimes Tasha would step in and try to get Boris to play around with her but he wouldn't. He would stop playing with Zoe for a second, but then once Tasha wandered away, they were back at it. Tasha gave up after a while of trying to convince Boris and she decided to do her own thing. She went to see what Zeus was doing in the yard. He was busy playing with Trooper so she moved on to the gate of the husky yard. She stood there watching them for a little while, and then wandered away. These two were both eager to get into the playroom after, joined by Cooper.
Cooper and Zeus both had so much fun in their group today. At first, Zeus wasn't interested in playing at all. He spent some time alone in the other yard, exploring all the new smells from that morning. Cooper was in full on play mode, right from the get-go. He was begging Zeus to play with him but it took Zeus a while to budge. After Cooper continuously jumping on Zeus and pouncing on his paws, getting him to play. Zeus eventually had to give in because he can't resist a good game of chase. Zeus and Cooper went at it for the longest time, until Trooper came in the yard and immediately caught Zeus' eye. He bounded over to Trooper and she was in heaven, now that Zeus wanted to play with her. It was really cute to watch them play. Zeus would crouch really low to the ground and then Trooper would jump over him and then get tangled up and then the both of them would take off for the other end of the yard and start over. Cooper was suddenly interested in the agility tunnel and spent some time snooping around there, looking for new things in the yard. His tail never stopped wagging for a second when he was outside.
The twins Finnley and Fergus had another great day together. They were on different walks in the morning but later they were happy to be reunited at group time. The highlight of Finnley's day today was going in the playroom with Glory, Sadie, and Brokk. Sadie and Glory had a blast playing together and Finnley gets really excited when the energy picks up with the dogs around him. He isn't one much for playing but loves the company of the other dogs. When he was outside, he stuck close by Brokk, very interested in the young, little husky. Fergus clung to his friends Cabot and Tupper again today. Cabot was very enthusiastic about playing fetch with the rope toy, and Fergus was very excited about trailing Cabot around the whole time. There is something that he likes about these two, very much.
Cats
Kafka is such a cute little panther-cat. Today she was roaming around the cat room by herself and I found her in the cabinet, laying down on a shelf. She meowed at me, inviting me over to give her some attention, which I gladly gave. She's for sure a talker, and never stops meowing which is so cute. She enjoys the cat room, as it is quiet enough for her to nap all day long in a comfy spot.
Sassy was more relaxed today than yesterday. Today she spent most of her time laying on a bed in her condo, enjoying a long snooze. When it was her turn to be let into the catroom, she didn't budge for quite some time. She was in paradise in her comfy bed. After a while, her curiosity got the best of her and she came out of her condo to see what was new. She ventured around, going under the chair and shelves and perching herself on the window ledge, watching some cars come and go in the morning.
Daisy is such a cuddly girl. Her soft fur makes her the perfect candidate for snuggling. I picked her up from her condo this afternoon when it was her turn to adventure into the cat room. She willingly accepted some ear scratches and a rub on her head. It seemed like she drifted off to sleep in my arms for a little while, purring away. She sat with me on the ledge for a while until she decided she had had enough and went to explore. I tried getting her to play with the laser pointed but I think she caught on after she batted at the little red light once and then just left it alone. She's so cute.
