Casey spent the first part of his day with his nose glued to the ground in search of all the good smells the yard and the trail had to offer. After his morning walk with his friends Glenda Lou and Gryphon, Casey set off into the yard with his nose leading the way. His buddies all moseyed around as well, until Barb the Lab puppy got the play time rolling. Casey watched as Barb ran around the yard with Titan, Leah and Poppy, and just couldn't wait to join in himself. Barb raced in and out of the agility tunnel with Casey hot on her tail, but quickly evaded him by jumping on top of the tunnel, followed by a near by rock. Casey stood beside the rock at the ready, waiting for Barb to hop down and continue the race. Thankfully she was ready to run after only a few seconds and she and Casey ran at full speed all around the yard with their friends. Later on in the day, Casey enjoyed a relaxed group outing with even more exploring and investigating, followed by some special time in the comfy chair in the reception area with his Newfoundland friend, Newton.

Casey had a stellar day! His adventures began with nice morning walk. He was accompanied by two of his best mates. I spotted him out the front window pouncing over and over again in the grass. After asking Dylan what he was up to, it was confirmed he spotted a little frog that he attempted to capture. With little success, he continued on his walk with a wagging tail. Next was his special time in the playroom. Casey loved all the games Lauren had planned for him, Charlie and Titan. Treats were a big hit. Casey loves eating his kibble for rewards after sitting, laying down, and giving kisses. It wasn't long before Casey found his item of the day; a fun green rope toy. In the playroom he played tug for a long time trying his hardest to win. He was always happy to sit on my lap and accept some good ear scratches. In the yard Casey was thrilled to have access to the agility yard. He bounded across the yard and zipped through the gate with a giant smile and wagging tail. With his nose to the ground he set off to explore. Throughout his explorations he was accompanied by good friend, Charlie. As these two wandered around together they got friskier and friskier with each step and began to box. Casey and Charlie danced around on their hind legs with their front paws wrapped around one another. After a lot of boxing Casey was distracted by his rope toy that I was dangling. Played some tug, until Caseys strength overcame mine and he pranced off with it. He loved shaking the rope around, then letting go of it sending it flying. Casey leapt all around the yard for the toy with his ears flapping about. Casey had so much fun on this beautiful 28 degree day.

Casey was super excited to start his day off with a walk alongside his poodle friends, Glenda Lou and Gryphon. He practically bounced out the door and immediately got to work sniffing around the trail. For the most part, Casey was happy to just explore in the grass, and occasionally he would trot over to say hello to me. After that it was time for groups. As always, Casey was on his best behaviour and waited patiently on his bed until the door opened and he raced out to join the other dogs. Right away Casey and his pal Titan headed over to check out the pool. While Titan climbed right in, Casey just gave the water a sniff and had a quick drink. He then wandered towards the play structure and spent some time exploring. I picked up the jolly ball and gave it a shake, and as soon as he heard it rattling, Casey came racing over. He poked it with his nose and pawed at it while I was holding it in my hand, and then got ready to chase it. As soon as I tossed it Casey jumped up and bolted after it. He couldn’t quite figure out how to pick it up and settled for just rolling it around on the ground. We played a few more rounds of fetch, then Casey returned to the pool to cool down and have some cuddle time with me before we headed inside.

Friday, September 15th, 2017

Casey started his morning off with a nice walk along the trail with Leah and Poppy, who just arrived this morning. Casey was bouncing up and down in his kennel when he saw me coming down the hall. He couldn't wait to get outside and mingle with his pals. He started off by doing his rounds of saying a quick hello to all. After he was satisfied with his greetings he wandered over to me for some back rubs and chin scratches. His group decided to take it easy today, so he did some exploring on his own. When he noticed no one was using the play structure he climbed up top to survey the yard. Titan and Poppy noticed Casey, and wanted to see what he was up to. Poppy poked her head in, while Titan climbed up in the rock beside Casey. The two sweet boys hung out together here until it was time to head back inside. Later in the afternoon Casey and his friends Titan and Hobart hung out in the indoor playroom for a little change of scenery. Casey found a bone toy that he absolutely loved and spent some time chewing on it. After a little while, Casey hopped off the bed to go and explore the room some more.

Thursday, September 14th, 2017

Casey has really been enjoying this beautiful weather we've been having. Ever since the sun started shining he's been full of beans and ready to play. Today, Casey spent lots of time with his pal Newton, a big friendly Newfoundland dog who was quite content to hang out by Casey's side. The boys were usually near each other during outdoor play time, except when Casey went off to join the race with Vega, Teddy, Delilah and Titan. I'm between spurts of energy, Casey would often be found cooling down with a sip of water from the pool beside Newton, who was usually standing in the water. After play time, Casey went up to the reception area to relax in the air conditioning with Susan and his buddy Newton. The boys relaxed and lounged together to their hearts' content.

Wednesday, September 13th, 2017

Casey was full of pep today and couldn't wait to get outside with his group. He zipped down the hall and did a quick round of the yard to check everything. He noticed that there were some new friends in his group and being the social boy he is just had to go and greet them. His first stop was Charlie. He and Charlie wiggled their bums and tails to say a friendly hello before engaging in play bows and hopping little circles around one another. Another new face to the group today was Vega. I'm sure both Charlie and Casey have met Vega before since she is a resident husky and always enjoys a good game of tag. She came over to see what Casey and Charlie were up to and tried to convince them to chase her. They were too busy in their own games that they politely told her no. That's okay though, Vega went and found someone else to play with. This afternoon Casey joined Kinsey in reception and found an awesome kong bone that had some liver treats stuffed in it. Casey couldn't have been more thrilled as he picked up the bone, pranced around the room showing it off, and then settling down in the chair the gnaw away at the bone to get the little treats out.

Tuesday, September 12th, 2017

Casey was so full of beans today! He wanted to play right from his very first outing of the day, before he'd even had his breakfast. When I asked if he was hungry, Casey raced to the door and gave me a look that said "it's time to eat!" and he was certainly correct. After a little lounge time on his bed, Casey went out for a walk on the trail with his buddies Cara and Titan, who all walked very nicely together. When it came time to play in the yard, Casey was instantly drawn to a chocolate Lab named Max and these two were inseparable for each outing throughout the day. Casey and Max wrestled mainly together, but were joined occasionally by a few other friends, including Chigo the Shepherd, Kane the Weimaraner and Delilah the Bulldog mix. It was so much fun to watch this fun group of playful friends having a great time together!

Casey has been having a great day today. He met up with a new friend, Chigo the German Shepherd in the yard. The two boy were very interested in saying hello and sniffing one another. Once they did a thorough sniff over of each Chigo gave Casey a playful swat with his paw and Casey play bowed back. They continued these antics throughout their group time until Chigo wanted to go for a dip in the pool. Casey wasn't as keen on getting his feet wet today, so instead I found a ball for him to play with. He was thrilled, bouncing up and down waiting for me throw it for him. I tossed the ball across the yard and he chased after it. Once he got a hold of the ball he found a quiet corner to settle down in the grass and gnaw on the ball. After having a rest in his kennel after group, he joined Kinsey up front in the reception area. He loves to spend his time up front lounging in the big comfy chair while watching his friends roam the room.

Domino couldn't have been happier to join forces with some new and exciting husky friends out in the yard today! He was greeted instantly by a very spunky girl named Anja, as well as her brother Bode. They spent a little while getting acquainted before Ayla and Lola, two more huskies, came bustling through the get the games going. The bunch of friends chased each other back and forth across the yard over and over again until they all needed to cool down. The pool was full of cool, refreshing water on this summery day and Domino climbed right in beside Ayla, Lola and Anja while Bode watched from the waters' edge. Break time didn't last long and the games quickly resumed among the husky friends. Domino leapt up onto the agility tunnel only to find out that Lola, Ayla and Anja are all familiar with this move! All four of them tried to jump up at the same time and the tunnel began to roll, sending everyone in a different direction on the grass. I straightened out the tunnel for them and Domino was the first to hop back up and try again!

Sunday, September 10th 2017

Sadie and I started off our day together with some extra attention. I brought her up to reception but it was obvious she'd rather be spending her time in the sun. As I brought out the leash she excitedly jumped on the door raring to go. We trotted up the driveway a few times and Sadie took lots of detours to check out the flowers and long grass to the side of her.  We then took some time to sit on the grass and get lots of ear scratches while she scoped out the yard in front of her. At group play time Sadie instantly recognized me and followed me right to my spot knowing I would give her lots of cuddles and attention. Sadie's favourite spot to hang out was the gravel yard with her good friend Cara. All in all a great week for Sadie and I can't wait to hang out with her again!

When I opened up Domino's kennel to head out for group playtime he zoomed right past me and jumped at the door. He started his time sniffing out the borders of the yard until he met up with his best buddy, fellow husky, Ayla. They walked side by side everywhere they went and caught up on all the gossip. All of a sudden a huge race began between 5 dogs in the group all chasing around known crazy girl, Vega the husky. They continued running in formation around the yard at 100 mph for almost 10 minutes until the play structure caught Domino's eye. He climbed right to the top and stuck his head out so all his friends could see he was the king of the castle. After a couple more play fights with Vega and Ayla, Domino called it quits and was ready to head in for a cold bowl of water and some relaxation time.

Casey joined his friend Delilah for group playtime today and they seemed to grow a liking for each other's similar cool and calm personalities. Casey wasn't too interested in the wet grass so he headed to his 'spot', the gravel yard. He loves to stare through the fence and check out what his husky friends are up to on the other side and chats them up with lots of howls. If one things for sure, Casey is a huge sucker for hugs and scratches. As soon as I sit on the ground and call his name he nuzzles his nose right up to me and stares right into my eyes. We spent lots of time cuddling on the ground and once he was completely refueled with love he ran off to go see his bud Luigi. Casey and Luigi definitely have a sibling type of relationship where Casey riles Luigi up, they wrestle and then seconds later are best friends walking around the yard together. By the end Casey was sitting at the door ready to head in after another fun but exhausting play time.

Casey was so happy for his first walk of the day this morning. Joined by two of his kennel mates Sadie and Cara, they trotted off into the grass on a beautiful, sunny Saturday morning. Casey seemed to take a liking to his friend Cara as they walked side by side the entire trip and wrestled around the here and there. He came back tuckered out and rushed into his kennel for a fresh drink of water and a nap. I've spent a lot of time with Casey since I began working here and one thing I have to commend (although there are many things) is his incredible calmness and good behavior. Every time I come down the hall while the rest of the dogs are barking and jumping, Casey is relaxing on his bed and waiting to give your hand a kiss along the way. Around noon we let a group of dogs out into the yard to play around and enjoy the day. Casey seemed hesitant until I called his name and he ran over, jumped on the seat and stared right at me obviously waiting for some much deserved head scratches. We cuddled up for a bit until an energetic pup, Luigi, caught his eye. These two spent the rest of their time together, rolling and bouncing around the yard non stop. When I opened the door to come inside Casey bolted through the door and knew exactly where his kennel was and walked right in for another long drink of water. If one thing's for sure, Casey's tail was wagging the whole day.

Domino was go, go, go today. He started off his adventures in the yard with his friends by quickly scoping out his favourite toy, the broken frisbee. He pranced around the yard showing it off to his friends and teasing Ayla. Once I started filling up the pool he quickly lost interest in his toy and splashed right into the pool. Everyone was really intrigued with the hose as the pool filled. I held it up and Domino and his friends all took turns drinking from it. After they all had a refreshing drink they zipped around the yard playing tag. Domino, Chloe, Ammo and Annie zigged and zagged all over stopping to wrestle and tussle before darting off for another lap. Domino loves playing chase, and of course made some time to play with his best friend, Ayla, before heading inside to take a snooze.

Sadie has really settled in to our routine and always knows when it is her turn to go outside. She wags her tail excitedly as I walked up to her kennel to let her out. She started her group time off by exploring the yard from one end to the other. Once she was satisfied with her sniffing she came over to join the fun. She jumped into a game with her good friends Cara and Domino. She left the fun for a cuddle with with me before going off to find someone else to play with. She bumped into young Vega, and they instantly started play bowing and bouncing around one another. Before heading inside Sadie did a few more rounds of the yard making sure she said hello to all her group mates. Sadie was quite an excited girl when it came time for her extra attention. She gave me a look that suggested she was ready for a second walk so that's where we started. Sadie led the way through the hall, pass the reception and right out the door as she was ready to explore.

Friday, September 8th, 2017

Domino was feeling very spunky today, as usual. He was so excited to head into the yard and see who he was going to have in his group today. Domino was thrilled to meet up with Ayla the husky puppy. The pair hit it off immediately and the games instantly began. As he was dancing around with Ayla, Glory, Wally and Ammo joined in on the fun. Domino was keen to participate in the the tornado of games. As everyone broke off into their own little duo's, Domino broke off on his own to sniff and explore. As he was wandering about he came across Cooper who had a fabulous rope toy. This prompted an intense tug match between the boys. Domino's way out of the tug game was by leaping up into the play structure. He sure took Cooper by surprise, and enjoyed the birds eye view of all his friends for a while. Finally he spotted Cara on her own and had to go cheer her up. I have never seen Cara run and play so much, and it didn't surprise me one bit that Domino was the one to accomplish this. These two never stopped running for the remainder of their outdoor time. They used every inch of the yard to their advantage as they sprinted full speed around and around. By the time we head indoors, Domino's tongue was hanging out the side of his mouth and he was more than ready for a midday nap.

Casey loved his outdoor time today. He was intrigued by all his new group members. Casey enjoyed the break from the boarding dogs and soaked up every minute of fun with the daycare pups. His first encounter was with the ever so lovely Delilah. She can be pretty choosy about who she wants to play with, and something about Casey was just right. They danced and frolicked back and forth until Casey got distracted by me kneeling while petting some of his mates. He took this opportunity to zoom over and get in on the cuddles. He happily accepted lots of pets and scratches and thanked me by slurping me all over. After some exploring, Casey was surprised by miss Tasha's forward demand to play with her. She pawed at Casey over and over until he finally gave in. The two were very cute play bowing back and forth. Tasha had her tail wagging very fast as Casey bum bumped her over and over. This afternoon handsome man, Casey, really liked when I sat in his kennel with him for a bit. He nuzzled me and was sure to appreciate every second. We then headed up to the reception area, where Casey seemed to be smiling ear to ear as he got lots more cuddles and hung out on the comfy chair.

Sadie was rather perky during her group today. She seemed to be the centre of attention when she first got outdoors. Domino was fascinated with her in particular despite the fact that they had already met. Domino was so flirty towards Sadie, kissing her head and ears with a wagging tail. She loved all the attention he was giving her. When he walked away from her she sauntered after him looking for more. Domino was busy playing, however Sadie continued to keep a close eye on him. All of a sudden Sadie found herself in the middle of a big game. Rather than playing along she chose to stand in the middle and referee. By referee, I mean woo at all the pups dancing and playing around her. Sadie is always sure to chat and communicate with us to let us know how she's feeling. I love her big howl so much, and so do our huskies. Through the remainder of Sadie's outdoor time she was sure to keep a close eye on her friends while wandering around, sniffing every corner. For her extra time this afternoon, Sadie and I explored a whole new area of the field. Since her very favorite thing - when she's by herself - is sniffing every inch of grass and ground, Sadie was captivated by the side field. We took our time and ended up coming back near the front field and moseyed down the driveway.

Thursday, September 7th, 2017

Sadie was full of beans today! She was eager as ever to go for her morning walk out on the trail and even more excited when it came time for play group. She’s definitely been watching the silly friends in her group as they wrestled over the course of her stay, and felt that today was the day to join in full tilt. Sadie rushed over when she saw Ayla the Husky and Cooper the Lab bouncing around together and threw a playful paw onto Ayla’s back. Domino, another Husky, came racing over to join in the play wrestle, and Sadie was happier still that another friend wanted to have fun too. Sadie happily bounced around the yard from dog to dog, offering to play with each and politely continuing on her way if they declined. She played with Ayla, Cooper and Domino, then with Cara, a little bit here and there with Tsavo the Shepherd, and rolled around in the grass with Sophie the Golden. She was certainly a social butterfly today!

Casey was in a great mood today, especially when he saw the sun was out! He stretched and greeted his friends bright and early for his very first outing of the day, but was eager to head back inside because he knew breakfast was coming. Casey gobbled up his food and went back to bed for a while to rest up before his walk. He enjoyed a leisurely stroll in the field with his good friend Cara, who he met up with again later for the next group outing of the day. There were lots of familiar faces in the group today, but Casey also met a few new friends, including the big fluffy Bear, Spencer, and Cai the Shepherd. He bounced around the yard with these new pals, and stopped occasionally to say hello to the smaller friends in the group, including Izzy the Westie, Barb the Lab puppy and Meadow the Collie puppy.

What a great day for Domino! He played with just about everyone who was willing to play today. He started off wrestling with Ayla, of course, who is just such a great match for his style and energy level. The pair raced around the yard at top speed, gathering the attention of some of the bystanders who were still roaming and sniffing around. Sadie was full of energy and hopped over to pounce on her friends, while Cooper kept an eye on the goings on, waiting for the right time to jump into the action. Ultimately, Domino and Ayla always wound up still playing together even when the other dogs came and went. Domino and Ayla watched as Sophie the Golden went into the playstructure and came out with a bone in her mouth! They were determined to get their paws on it, so Ayla circled around while Domino climbed up into the structure to get a better view. Eventually, Sophie left the bone behind and Ayla swooped in to pick it up and have a turn. Domino, the clever boy, went and got a ball and a rope toy, which caught Ayla’s attention long enough for him to snag the bone!

Wednesday, September 6th, 2017

Casey started his day off on the right paw with a nice stroll around the trail with friends Stella and Cara. He waited patiently on his bed after his walk until it was time go outside for groups. Casey wanted to have a quieter day today and stayed in the separate yard for the beginning of group. I gave him some cuddles and then left him to explore and wander the yard on his own. Part way through group he noticed how much fun his pals were having and joined us in the grass yard. Domino and Sadie were happy to see him and invited him to play. Casey bounced around with them for a little while before heading back to the other yard to do some more sniffing on his own.

Domino made sure to do a little bit of everything today. He raced out to the yard with a big smile on his face and pounced right onto the Frisbee. He tossed it in the air, pounced on it again and took of running with it. Ayla caught site of Domino and the Frisbee and just had to join in his fun. She ran, chased and twisted after him trying to get the Frisbee, but Domino was always one step ahead. After a few more laps around the yard he let Ayla have the Frisbee and found a new toy. The rubber ball was lots of fun, especially in the pool. He splashed around in the pool showing off his newest toy to his friends before letting Cooper have a turn with the toy. Now he off looking for someone to play with, and Ayla stepped up to the plate. The two wrestled and danced around until it was time to come inside.

Sadie is such a character and always makes me smile. When I come in in the morning and walk down the hall to say good morning to everyone she always lets out a big "wooo!' She went for a walk in the mist this morning with the youngster Ayla and showed her the ropes on how you should properly walk. Of course, youngsters these days never seem to listen to their elders. Sadie enjoyed her walk and pounced through the long grass. She joined her group outside and spent some time exploring the perimeter. She stopped to say hello to me and then continued on her way. When Casey joined us in the yard Sadie trotted over to him to say hi along with Domino and Ayla. After the greeting was over Sadie gave Ayla a playful paw and play-bow. She may not be as young as she once was but she still sure does like to play every now and again. Ayla was very respectful of Sadie and the two pranced around in circles pawing at one another. It was very cute.
Sadie came to hang out with me in the reception area between her group outings this afternoon. She sniffed around the room but eventually came to see me for some cuddles and pets. Not long after, Sadie ran over to the door and asked if we could go outside for a walk, to which I said of course! We roamed in the field for a little while and Sadie led me wherever her nose directed, which meant that we took our time and zig-zagged all around!

Tuesday, September 5th, 2017

Casey was stretched out on his big bed again this morning when I went to greet him. He had eaten all of his breakfast and was stretching out in preparation for walk time. We marched along the trail beside Casey’s two friends, Percy and Rupert, two Australian Shepherds. After spending plenty of time nosing around in the field, Casey happily trotted out into the play yard to join his buddies on a nice rain-free day. A few dogs approached Casey and asked if he would like to play, but he was mostly interested in being pet by me and watching the goings on around him. Casey let out his playful side when he saw me throwing a Frisbee toy for some of the other guys, who were eagerly chasing after it and goofing around together. Casey barked excitedly each time I raised the Frisbee to throw it, and took off running after it in hopes that he would catch it. He was successful a few times, but even when he didn’t catch the toy he was happy just to be prancing around and having fun. Casey was a little tuckered out from his eventful morning of play, and joined me in the reception area to relax for a while before going back out to play.

Domino was full of beans today, but that’s no surprise! He was delighted to meet another Ancient Moon pup, the lovely little Ayla for their morning walk around the trail. Domino play-bowed to Ayla and knew right away that he wanted to play with her, which he did later on in the day. When I opened his kennel door, Domino went flying out into the yard and started running circles around his pals with his tail wagging furiously as he greeted them all. Domino hopped up onto the picnic table beside his dad, Justice, and fellow Husky pal, Vega. These three crazy cats did some table top wrestling before Domino took off running after Ayla, who was running by as fast as a bolt of lightning. After plenty of running and wrestling, Domino came to the other side of the yard to try his hand at a game of fetch with his buddies Cooper and Rupert. He was such a fast guy and caught the Frisbee quite a few times!

Sadie is such a sweet lady to have staying with us. She was laying on her comfy bed this morning when I went to see her before walk time. She loves being outside and was eager to get a move on out on the walking trail. She didn’t have to wait long before Susan approached with two walking buddies who were just as eager as Sadie to get walking. Sadie happily returned to her comfy bed after her walk and relaxed for a little while before going out for another group outing with her friends. There were some new faces in the yard today and Sadie was delighted to meet all of them. She’s such a social butterfly and takes her time to go around and greet everyone with her tail wagging. Sadie particularly enjoyed spending time with a new buddy, Cooper the yellow Lab! These silly friends bounced around together with the occasional visitor popping in to join in on the fun.
Sadie was raring to get out the front door when it was time for her extra explore this afternoon. She saw the leash and was waiting for me. We went down to the creek and Sadie had no hesitation getting her paws wet. She lept across the water and was ready to keep going, but alas, I didn't have my boots on! So back she came and we moved further down the field to the bridge, where we both crossed happily to the back trail. Sadie could have stayed there all day. She is such a happy, intense sniffer, she takes her time and really savors ever new smell.

Monday, September 4th, 2017

Sadie is such a sweet girl. I was lucky enough to spend most of my day with her, from walks to groups and extra attention time. We started the day with a walk out on the field trail alongside two of her friends, Casey and Finnigan. We took our time and Sadie stopped to sniff as we made our way around the loop, and thankfully managed to stay out of the rain. After her walk, Sadie joined me in the reception area for some one-on-one extra attention time. She climbed up into the armchair and flashed her best smile, looking for some pets and attention. I was happy to give her a head scratch and lets of pets while she relaxed. Alyssa joined us a few minutes later, and Sadie hopped down from her perch to see if she could entice Alyssa into petting her too. Sadie was successful, and enjoyed a back rub from her friend. Sadie then asked to go outside so we went for a little stroll wherever Sadie’s nose led us. We eventually made it back inside, where Sadie had a little snooze before joining the rest of her group out in the play yard. There were lots of good smells for Sadie to explore during her outing and many friends to greet and hang out with. Sadie was quite the social butterfly and said hello to everyone, including Casey and Finnigan that she had met earlier in the day.

Casey had another great day today! He was lounging on his comfy bed after breakfast this morning, but hopped up in excitement when he saw the leashes in my hands. We went and got two more friends to join us on the trail, and Casey was happy as a clam roaming along with them. Out in the play yard, Casey spent the first little while with his nose glued to the ground, sniffing away at all of the scents in the rocks by the fence. He moseyed around for a while until he caught wind of the game of fetch that was taking place. Casey raced over and started “woo-ing” at me to throw the toy! I gave it a hard toss and Casey tried to jump up and over the agility tunnel to chase it, but wound up zipping around instead, silly guy. He came back to play fetch over and over again, regardless of whether he actually caught the toy; he seemed to have just as much fun chasing after it. We watched as Domino and Cara hopped up on the tunnel and Casey was determined to make it all the way up since his earlier attempt, and with a little encouragement he did it!

Domino is such a fun and goofy guy! He walked alongside Magic, a fellow Ancient Moon Husky, as well as Molly the Golden out on the trail this morning. He was so excited and wanted to play with Magic the whole way around the loop. Once in the play yard, Domino flew around to a few different activities throughout the day. For the first part of the day, Domino and Finnigan the doodle raced around the yard and through the agility tunnel as fast as their legs could carry them, but once he had released his zoomies, Domino was all about the toys! He watched as I threw a few different toys for all of the fetch-crazy dogs, and raced after whichever one was being tossed his way. Domino caught a few here and there and would often parade his catch around the yard, taking it through the tunnel or even over top! Domino had so much fun chasing the toys, but took a few breaks here and there to say a more personal hello to his pals, to have a pet from me, or to climb up on top of the agility tunnel like the monkey that he is.

Sunday, September 3, 2017

Casey had a bit of a quieter day because of the weather.  He started on a walk with Millie and Blue, two of his new companions. Casey first let everyone else in the yard get acquainted while he contemplated the rainy yard. Then he noticed Gunner, who was quite interested in Casey. Gunner and Domino were wrestling and Casey joined in with them for a little while. He would stand at the side of them and then leap right in the middle, making everyone jump up and start to run around. Casey loves a good game of chase and he forgot the rain for a bit when he was at the back of the pack with Dom in the front. After he was satisfied with playing along with his friends, he and I cuddled lots in the yard until we went back inside. Casey lured me into one of the outdoor kennels so we could be out of the rain. I sat on the stool and pet his head and gave him a really good ear rub. He rested his head on my lap and then gave me a few nice kisses on the cheek. When we went inside, I went into Casey's kennel and pet him a few times. He snuggled right into his bed in a ball, tucking his tail in and then dozing off for a nap.

Domino had another great day, despite the rain! He made a new friend named Gunner and the two of them became best friends straight away. They wrestled non-stop, and Gunner was even keeping up to Domino when he was being chased around the yard. Domino exhausted lots of energy racing around with his new friend, but when Buddy brought everyone's attention to the rubber ball, Domino was very eager to get his paws on it. I threw it around a few times before it was finally Domino who got to it first. After that, he never let it go! Gunner and Buddy even chased him and tried to wrestle him for it, but Domino held onto it as long as he could. When the others grew disinterested, Domino and I played fetch a few times before we headed inside. Later in the afternoon, Domino got to resume his fun afternoon, and with the rain letting up a bit, he got everyone into a full on game of chase. Domino was at the front with Buddy not far behind. Dom was very happy with the time he spent outside and got back to his kennel to gulp down a bunch of water before taking a well earned nap.

Sadie is very a sweet girl. She and I spent quite a bit of time together during her late morning group. She was a little hesitant to to venture off to the yard but she followed Cara into the grass yard and then she began to explore around. She sniffed all along the long grass and got her face all wet! I went over to her to give her lots of pets but she was very focused on exploring and investigating the new smells. She finally came over to me for some pets and I knelt down and she rested her head on my leg while I rubbed her back and pet her head. She really liked getting a good ear massage! When it was time to head in, the rain had no influence on Sadie at all! She was very content to stay outside and venture through the grass. I went and got her and she cuddled right into her bed inside. Later on in the after noon, Sadie and I spent a little more time together for her extra attention time. First we had a few minutes to snuggle in the playroom. I got Sadie a few treats but she wasn't very interested in them. I then asked her if she wanted to go for a walk, and this sparked her interest right away! She leaped up and was barking at me and jumping up, ready to go! We went and walked through the front field and Sadie was so happy! She wanted to stay outside for much longer but it was time to go inside so she got a nice little treat and headed back.

Maya is such a sweet girl. Her favourite part of her day was her extra attention time, up front. She was so keen to motor down the hall and begin exploring the reception area. She wandered all over, getting her nose into just about everything. She was sure to check out the toy bin, as well as underneath the chairs and desks where potentially snacks may have fallen. She was very excited when I offered her some liver treats. She sat, and gave me a paw without any hesitation in order to receive a goodie. Maya loved being lifted onto the comfy chair, and sitting with me. She nuzzled into my side and dozed off for a bit as I brushed her with the zoom groom. When Susan came in the front door, she was wide awake. Maya began buzzing around again, and got very excited when Susan lifted her into her lap. Maya briefly helped Susan out at the computer, before she returned to my side for some more cuddles. Not only did Maya get some liver treats, she also tried out some peanut butter in a small kong. She wasn't sure how to get the peanut butter out of the little hole, but she tried her hardest. She was very pleased with the delicious snack. When we headed outdoors later on, Maya laid pretty low. The rainy weather wasn't too exciting for any of the small dogs today, however, it was very exciting when I opened the door to the back play room. Maya was the first one to zoom in and begin exploring. She loved being with all her friends in a warm, dry environment. She was quick to snag a comfy spot on a bed and begin supervising the youngsters play. A couple of dogs invited her to play along, but she wasn't too interested. Maya continued to watch all the action going on while laying low around the perimeter of the play room. She was happy to sit in my lap for a while, and then even happier when I carried her back inside so she didn't have to get her little paws wet in the puddles.

Maya was such an active little girl this morning when it came to her long group outing. She trotted right into the yard following behind me and was ready to greet her friends. After sniffing around for a little while, she was ready to explore. Maya followed the fence line as she sniffed out all of the scents that she could. She came over to me for a little head rub and then continued on for another little while. I had gotten her attention when I brought treats out into the yard. She trotted over to me as soon as she smelt them and started showing her all the tricks she could. I had Maya sit, shake paw, and lay down for a few treats. After the basics were done, I tried getting Maya to jump over the agility jump. At first she was a little hesitant but soon enough she was flying over the jump with ease. She and I jumped over it a few more times before she decided to cool off. We went over to the pool where she had a sip of fresh water and even jumped in to cool off her paws. She was ready for an afternoon nap shortly after. When I went to get Maya for her extra attention, she was completely snuggled up in her bed. She must have been in a deep sleep because she only woke up once I started petting her. However, once she was up, she was definitely ready to go. We walked up to the front reception for some activities. Maya was already asking for more treats by the time we walked through the door. I had her show off her tricks once more in order to get some liver treats. She must have still been tired from her group before because she simply wanted to sit up in the big comfy chair and snuggle. The two of us sat there for the rest of her extra attention time as I gave her a long head and ear rub.

Casey and Domino had another fun filled day as per usual. The two boys started their group off right with a burst of speed leading to a good race around the yard. They did a couple laps before joining me to see what toys I had brought outside. As soon as they saw me holding the red toy bone, Domino and Casey both backed up as they waited for me to throw it. It seemed as though I took a bit too long because Domino came pouncing towards me, trying to get the toy. Soon after, I threw it into the air and Casey darted after it. He ended up getting the toy before Domino. We played a few more rounds before the two boys split off to see what other activities they felt like doing. Domino headed straight for the pool. He wasted no time drinking or sniffing but jumped right in instead. I had thrown the red toy bone into the pool so Domino splashed around for quite some time trying to get it out. I ended up distracting him as I brought the running hose out of the pool. He hopped on over and decided he's like to try and eat the water that was coming out, silly boy. He spent a little while doing this before his new friends Cara and Buddy joined shortly after to get a sip of water as well. After all the drinking was done with, Buddy headed off in a chase after Domino for the red toy bone. I ended up throwing it up in the air for them a few times to see who could catch it first. Casey kept himself busy as well with a little girl named Millie. The two of them sniffed each other endlessly and simply enjoyed each others company. They toured the yard together while stopping to sniff toys and friends that they passed. I ended up finding the two of them as the end of the other yard play bowing to one another, how cute. They wouldn't play tackle but would simply bounce around each other. Casey joined me for a little while to cuddle and get a belly rub. We ended up over by the pool so that he could cool off but once he was done, Casey was back by my side, ready for some more attention.

Friday, September 1st, 2017

Domino is certainly enjoying his stay with us. This morning he was super excited for his walk with Casey and Bella, and wasted no time bouncing out the door. He gave Bella a playful poke, then moved on to pounce on Casey. The other two weren’t really looking to play but they kindly put up with Domino’s excited antics until we made it out of the yard, and Domino went trotting off to explore the trail. When it was time for groups, he had some more friends to wrestle with and was quick to pounce on Vega. She happily tackled him to the ground and then the two went racing off together. They ended up poking around the tunnel. Vega jumped up and tried to balance on it while Domino did his best to knock her off, then he went to explore the inside of it. After they had finished with the tunnel, they wandered over to see their friend Finnigan, who was chewing on a bone. Domino tried and failed to steal the toy, and ended up just barking at Finn instead. He then trotted away to join in a wrestling match with Casey and Blue. Just before we wrapped things up and headed in, Domino stumbled across the bone that Finnigan had left behind and settled down for a good chew.

Casey had lots of fun playing with his friends today. He kicked things off with a walk alongside his buddy Domino and a new guest, Bella. When I went to get him from his kennel, he was sitting patiently on his bed with his tail wagging like crazy. He’s got lovely manners! As we were heading outside, Casey seemed eager to start sniffing and led the three of them to the trail where he immediately bounced ahead to start exploring in the grass. Next up it was time for groups. There were lots of energetic dogs for Casey to play with today, but after he bumped into Blue the chocolate Lab, they were inseparable. Blue was bouncing around and play-bowing for Casey, who pretended to be disinterested until he would finally pounce back when Blue was distracted. Every time I looked over the two of them would be wrestling or leaping around together. Occasionally Justice, Domino and Finn would try to join in, but Casey only seemed to want to play with Blue. Eventually they stopped to catch their breath. They both wandered over to the pool, which was empty since it’s a bit chilly outside, and Blue climbed right in while Casey just sniffed around it. Casey looked good and tired…he should nap well this afternoon!

Maya had a wonderful day! She started the morning off on a nice stroll with her friend Maggie the bulldog. The two of them spent lots of time exploring the outdoors and enjoying the sun. After that, it was time for groups. Maya happily trotted out the door to say hello to her friends. She was looking quite perky today. Maya bumped into Penny and the two girls gave each other a quick sniff before they wandered towards the grass yard together. There was so much for Maya to smell! Her nose was kept busy as she walked along the fence and checked things out. She also made sure to give the picnic table a thorough sniff as well. Maya’s friend Miko bounced over to see what was going on. He wanted to play with her, but Maya politely turned down his offer and headed over to visit me instead. She sat down in the grass next to me and observed the yard while I pet her. When I crouched down to get closer, Maya immediately began trying to wriggle into my lap. She’s such a sweetheart. Whenever I wasn’t holding her, she was following right on my heels, eager for more cuddles. All she wanted to do was snuggle with me!

Max and Sadie had a blast together out in the yard today; they have really been loving the play structure in the opposite yard and each take turns sitting on top. Sadie loves to poke her head out from one of the circles and taunt Max from above. This sends Max into a fury and he excitedly starts to whip around the yard until its his turn to be the King of the Castle! Max was in an exceptionally cuddly mood this morning and ran over to give me sloppy kisses when I knelt beside him. He’s such a big boy and has so much love to give that he nearly knocked me over with his love! Meanwhile, Sadie had found her usual place on top of the picnic table, not a day goes by without her taking her spot and observing the yard below!

Bailey was in for another day of daycare and that meant our small dog-clan were in for a real treat, she always brings such a fun-loving energy to her groups! Today she joined Beagle friends Coco and Timbits for her morning trail walk and it was hilarious to watch three Beagle bums lead the way in front of me! The fun continued out in the yard a short while later, she wasted no time putting her little nose to work so she could collect all the toys in the yard. She came across a very special bone and excitedly pranced around the yard with it in her mouth in hopes that the others would chase her. Before she knew it, she had sisters Penny and Pippin hot on her trail and she loved every minute of it!

Maya and Rocky must be the sweetest siblings around, we love having them in for daycare on Thursdays! I think the rest of our small-legged friends would agree; everyone wants to say hello to Maya and Rocky when they are in! Before heading outside for their play-group, Maya joined Tennya and Charly for a morning trail walk and Rocky had a special walk out front with Katie. They were happy to be reunited outside and excitedly got swarmed by the rest of the little ones. I knew they needed some encouragement to join us out in the far yard, so I carried Rocky and sure enough Maya followed behind. Rocky enjoyed his time exploring the yard and Maya had some fun running with her friends Jake and Penny.

Domino, Percy and Molly were fast friends this morning and they shared an interest in fetching toys together. We all know Molly the Golden and daycare friend Percy are fetch-fanatics and Domino didn’t want to miss out on all the fun. Domino was literally leaping over the agility tunnel to catch the bone that I was throwing for him – he is quite the agile boy! Percy would look up at me with those big beautiful eyes of his in anticipation for the bone to be thrown. Finally, Percy and Molly both found a toy that they were satisfied with and sat side by side in the grass and chewed away. This gave Domino an opportunity to say hello to his Husky friends Vega and Justice who enticed him to a chase through the agility tunnel!

Casey is the sweetest boy and a favourite of our staff members. Not only is he a cuddly boy, but he also knows how to have a good time with his favourite four-legged friends. Between giving me hugs and kisses in the yard, he was chasing after Domino and friends. He especially liked to guard the opening of the agility tunnel and watch for any intruders that may try to pass him. He really liked this game and his tail and ears were perked right up in excitement. Not to mention, he is a very handsome and obedient boy!

Teddy had such a wonderful day playing with his friends! He was very excited for a walk this morning with his husky friends Issy and Kimi, but the real fun started during groups. Teddy wasted no time sprinting to the agility yard where he immediately started searching for a playmate. He was racing around so fast that no one could keep up with him! Then Teddy noticed his pal Charly playing fetch and came bouncing over to see if he could join in. It seemed that he wasn’t too interested in actually fetching the toy, and had much more fun just running back and forth. Occasionally he would pounce on Charly and she would wrestle with him for a bit before grabbing the toy and racing off. Eventually Teddy wandered away to say hello to the other dogs, and have a sniff around the yard. The tunnel caught his attention and he poked his head in before walking around to explore the outside of it. He couldn’t stay quiet for long, however, and was soon back to playing chase with Charly. Their friend Stella also joined in this time, running ahead of them with her own toy. Teddy seemed more interested in their toys the second time around and did his best to steal them when the girls weren’t looking…unfortunately he had no luck, and went to romp around with Spencer instead.

Spencer made a new friend today and the two of them were nearly inseparable all morning. He met up with Dixie for their walk this morning, eagerly racing to the door with her right on his heels. The two of them were so happy to be outside and wandered all over the trail to sniff around. When it was time for groups, Spencer trotted off by himself so he could explore the yard and enjoy some peace and quiet before the other dogs came to play. Sure enough, Dixie had soon bounced over and was pawing at Spencer to get his attention. She play-bowed and the two of them suddenly bolted across the yard, side by side. When they came to a stop again, Dixie was trying to pounce on him and Spencer was spinning around, doing his best to dodge her. They played a bit more before finally settling down. Spencer wandered over to see what I was up to and have some cuddles, while still keeping an eye on Dixie across the yard. Since it was surprisingly chilly today, the pools weren’t filled, but Spencer seemed to have fun climbing around the empty pool anyways! He went back to wrestle with Dixie a few more times before we finally headed inside.

Tsavo and Cai had lots of fun today! They started their morning off together with a walk alongside their friend Jemma. Everybody was excited to get outside and went trotting off to explore the trail on their own. Cai was bounding through the grass ahead while Tsavo stayed a bit closer, sniffing around the area near me. They went their separate ways for group time. Cai was eager to meet up with some of his regular day care friends as well as a few boarding guests. He gave Stella a friendly sniff before the two of them raced to the agility yard, where Cai got distracted by his nose and trotted over to the fence to poke around in the grass. Instead of running around, Cai seemed content to keep things quieter today and enjoyed some time to himself while he explored the yard. I encouraged him to go through the tunnel, but Cai only stuck his nose inside before giving me a doubtful look and going to find something more entertaining. He made sure to stop by for plenty of cuddles from me as he went about his day. Tsavo had quite the exciting time with her own group; the black Lab puppy, Barb, was quite fascinated by her and Tsavo wasn’t entirely sure what to do. They gave each other a sniff, then Tsavo went to walk away only to have Barb hurry after her, doing her best to get Tsavo to play with her. She couldn’t seem to lose her little shadow! Eventually she was able to sneak away once the puppy was distracted. Tsavo  had more fun exploring the yard, and also spent lots of time snuggling with me while we watched some of the other dogs running around. Her friends Scout and Jemma got Tsavo to play with them briefly, before Tsavo went back to sniffing around with her much calmer companion, Issy. Before we headed inside the two of them came over and Tsavo decided to stick with me for some more attention to wrap up playtime.

Issy and Kimi had a very relaxing day lounging in the kitchen together. They were happy to head outside for their walk first thing this morning, meeting up with their friend Teddy and then trotting ahead to spend some time exploring the trail. After that, it was group time! Kimi happily bounced out into the yard and went to say hello to her friends, while Issy took her time with her nose in the grass and made sure she didn’t miss anything interesting on her way around the yard. The two of them had to pause and let Barb climb all over them, before the puppy bounced off and Issy could continue with her exploration. Kimi decided to follow Barb and walked right into the middle of a game of chase between Jemma and Scout. She got all excited and was spinning around to watch them while they were running around the yard, looking as those she wanted to join in but wasn’t quite sure if she wanted to commit to playing with them. Whenever they got close, Kimi would pounce into the middle of it before she’d scramble back out to watch from the sidelines again. She did eventually start running around on their heels for a few laps, before Kimi decided she’d had enough of playtime and wandered off to explore the yard. Issy had found her friend Tsavo to keep her company while they sniffed around together. She noticed me when I came over to take pictures of them, and after that Issy was basically glued to my side. All she wanted was attention! We walked all over the yard together and any time I wasn’t distracted by another dog, Issy would be poking around my hands for some more cuddles. She’s such a sweetheart, and has the cutest face for the camera! Both she and Kimi definitely loved being the center of attention in the kitchen all day…

Jemma is always a delight to have for day care. We started the morning off on a walk with her friends Tsavo and Cai. She was so excited to get outside and immediately bounded ahead to start exploring the trail. Jemma was still quite bouncy when it was time for groups and wasted no time racing out the door. Right away she claimed her perch on some of the pallets in the middle of the yard, and Barb raced over to join her. The puppy was eager for some playtime and Jemma looked like she couldn’t quite figure out what to do with the little dog jumping all over her. Eventually she leaped away and ended up on top of the picnic table, observing the yard from her new spot. Her friend Scout raced over and put her front paws on the table, stretching up to give Jemma a poke with her nose. Soon enough the two of them were sprinting across the yard. Scout ran around the tunnel while Jemma darted the other way to surprise her. They both pounced on each other and had a quick wrestling match before Jemma was bounding away again. She ended up on the pallets with Barb climbing around her feet while she played with Scout. She raced a few more laps before stopping to catch her breath, and visited me for some cuddles. Jemma looked ready for a nap when we headed inside!

Wednesday, August 30th, 2017

I had the pleasure of spending another day with Casey in the yard and we had so much fun! Casey was full of love for the first half of his group. All he wanted to do was sit beside me and get lots of pets and attention. After he was happy with our time together, he ventured off to hangout with his friends. Casey got a game of chase going and he chased Domino and Vega around the yard. Casey really liked Vega today, one of our husky girls. He followed her around for quite a while, getting her to wrestle with him. They had a blast! Casey was very flirty with Vega and kept putting his front paws on her back and pawing at her face. Once they started running, Domino joined in and Casey was thrilled. Ever so often, Casey would stop running and just watch his friends as they went around the yard. Each time, I went and sat beside him. I could tell he was happy because his tail would start to whip from side to side. He went back and forth with cuddling and playing with his friends. When the others were occupied chasing each other for a bone, I grabbed another toy and Casey and I had our own little game of catch. I threw the ball in the air and Casey leaped to get it. He didn't catch it but leaped on it as soon as it hit the ground. He liked this game and kept returning it to me each time.

Domino loved the group he was with today! They all had so much fun together and he was always doing something he loved. He began his playtime by immediately climbing in the pool. He was the first one in there so it was nice and clean! Then he moved on to play with some toys. Domino's friend Molly grabbed a rubber bone and Domino was determined to get it from her. He chased Molly back and forth until she finally gave in and dropped it. It was then his turn to be chased with the bone! He is a very quick boy, so the others had to work really hard to catch him! Domino had 3 of his friends hot on his trail, and he was quick to avoid them, leaping all over the agility tunnel and bolting from one end of the yard to the other. Eventually his friends caught up to him and Casey was the victor and walked away with the bone in his mouth. Once Casey drooped it, it was up for grabs again and Domino waited patiently for me to throw it again. Domino and Molly grabbed it at the same time and then a tug-of-war game started out. Domino then raced around, chasing his friends. He ended up with the bone in his mouth, and carried it into the tunnel where he had a little alone time with his toy! He is such a cute guy.

Issy had a really great day today! She got to spend lots of time with Isis in the kitchen and out for her group. Issy was very adventurous while she was outside today. She first wandered around and sniffed the grass until she was satisfied with her findings. After, she said hello to Barb and Isis. Once she came full circle around the yard, I was waiting for her where I gave her lots of pets. I rubbed her ears and scratched all down her back. She was very content with her back massage. I left Issy to do some more exploring and returned to find her snooping around the agility tunnel. She had followed Isis and Leia in there, where they were playing. Issy didn't join in on their wrestling game, but she was very happy to be in their company. Towards the end of her group time, Issy made  her way to the pool, where she fancied taking a quick dip. She slowly put each paw in the water. She took a few steps around, and Scout jumped in there with her. She didn't stay long and left, shaking off before she went back inside. At lunch, Issy was treated to some cuddles from Nicki and Tiff and a little biscuit.

Leia was so happy to be back at Tails & Trails! She got to spend the day with her mom and her new friends! She and Aurora shared a kennel today and throughout the day, I caught them getting lots of snuggles in while they could. During their group time, Leia reunited with Barb, Kinsey's lab puppy and these two loved each other! They wrestled all over the yard, rolling over each other in the grass. When Leia showed interest in the pool, Barb went right over to make sure Leia got in there with her. They then began splashing and wrestling around in the water- it was the cutest thing to see! Aurora of course wanted to get some play time with her little princess Leia too, so she played with Leia in the grass. Each time, Leia lay down and let her mom gentle wrestle with her. They both had so much fun. Later during their playtime, Tiffani came to visit our group and she picked up Leia and gave her lots of cuddles. Leia was very polite and gave Tiffani plenty of kisses to return the favour. Leia was happy to head inside for a little afternoon rest.

Bailey came in for another day of daycare with an abundance of energy! Right from the get go Bailey showed us that she was definitely ready to play. She joined the little dogs during her group time but was more focused on all of the toys in the yard. As soon as she outside, Bailey was racing to the far yard and already looking for a toy. She picked up a pink ball and immediately started doing laps around all of her friends. It was almost as though she was trying to show off her new prized possession. She sure did look very proud to have found it. Once she was done running, Bailey brought the ball over to me and the two of us began a game of tug-of-war. She is so strong whenever we play that I can barely hold on. The two of us went back and forth for a little while until my hand slipped. Bailey went off and started running laps of victory. While doing her laps, Bailey found an even better toy, a bone! She and her best friend Barbara tore around the yard with the bone in her mouth. They flew all over the yard and even stopped to play around in the pool for a short while.

Max and Sadie were the happiest pair to be back for another day of daycare. They joined me out in the yard for one of their outdoor play groups and decided to take it easy at first. Sadie went over to the furthest yard in order to sniff around the fence while Max greeted me with plenty of kisses. This continued for a short while until the two of them suddenly started racing around. It was almost as though they had both gotten a burst of energy at exactly the same time. Max darted towards Sadie and the two of them went flying around the yard as fast as they could. They jumped on and off of the picnic table, ran through the agility tunnel, and even rolled around on the ground while play tackling. Soon after they had slowed down, the duo was ready to cool off by the pool. Max was the first to stick his paws in and get a drink but Sadie followed close behind. Max and I hung out by the pool for a bit longer as I gave his head and ears a good rub. Then I decided to join Sadie for some play structure fun. I had her follow me in and out of the play structure and soon enough she was darting through every little circle that she could fit through. To end off their group time, Max, Sadie, and I all sat up on the picnic table and cuddled for a little bit.

Wednesdays at Tails & Trails mean some of our favourite daycare friends are in for a day filled with fun! Finnigan, Chloe and Oakley were part of an epic playgroup out in the yard today. Throw in Haley the Shepherd, Stella the GSP and Charly the Golden and we have ourselves a full on yard party! Before all the fun started in the yard, these three pals were eager to head out on their morning trail walks. Chloe joined Scout for her trot while Finnigan and Oakley joined forces for theirs. Once walks were over, Finnigan and his friends were ready to get the pool party started. Finnigan really enjoyed his time surrounded by all of his favourite ladies and he was quite the hit at the pool! In usual Finnigan fashion, he fully submerged himself in the pool until only his eyes were peering out over the water. Big-girl Chloe thought that looked like fun and tried it out for herself; luckily we set up the bigger pool just for her today! She was able to stretch out her long legs and was splashing up quite a storm. Then they were off; Finnigan found himself playing an epic game of tug with pal Stella while Chloe was whipping around the yard and in and out of the agility tunnel away from Charly and Haley. I could see her floppy tongue and big eyes peering out from the opening of the tunnel to see if the coast was clear and then she would take off like the speed-demon she is! Oakley was quite amused with all of the action out in the yard today. She had her big ears and tail perked right up in excitement every time Chloe and friends whipped by. She even went over to the opening of the tunnel where Chloe was hanging out to investigate. But once Chloe took off, she quickly ran back by my side where she had the front-row seat. There were definitely lots of cuddles and head scratches today, but for the most part she was off exploring the yard. Good friend Haley tried to intercept her and get her attention on one of her laps and Oakley excitedly gave her a few head nudges to say hello but very politely let her know that she was interested in the chase around the yard. She had the perfect seat by my side and took full advantage of my attention while the others were off, smart girl!

Tuesday, August 29th, 2017

Casey had another great day today! He was a little angel on his walk, joined by his two gal pals Annie and Zen. Both these girls are quite a bit taller than Casey, and it was funny to watch them walk together. At one point, Annie and Zen were walking on either side of Casey and they sandwiched him right between them! Later on in the morning, Casey met some other friends outside, and his favourite friend was Stella, who arrived last night. Stella is so full of energy and Casey had a blast chasing her around. He chased Stella all around the yard, and when he finally caught her, the two of them wrestled around for a few minutes before returning to their game of chase. When Casey was standing by his friends, taking a break, I took my chance to get some cuddle time with him. Casey sat down right beside me while I pet his head and rubbed his ears. He then gave me a few little kisses on my nose. Once Casey saw Percy and the other dogs go in the pool, he trotted away to see what they were doing. Once he was standing right beside the pool, he got a few splashes of water right in the face! He immediately backed up, confused as to what Percy was doing. He stood back for a while, being very wary of the water. Once the others had left the pool, Casey then went and stuck his nose in and took a few sips of water. That was enough for him! He moved on to play more with Stella and race around. We reunited a few minutes later and snuggled for a few minutes before heading back inside.

Percy had a blast today! He couldn't decided between playing with his toys, his friends or going in the pool, so he did a little bit of everything. He began by playing with Stella, who is his new friend outside. Percy loves to chase Stella around the yard. She's a bit faster than Percy, so they ran around for what seemed like forever! Once Percy needed a break from running, he found himself a rubber bone outside and carried it around. He's never been one to play fetch so he was very happy to carry his prize around the yard with him. After a few laps of the yard, and the occasional race after his friends, Percy was ready to take a dip in the pool. It was finally full enough for him to do his swimming routine. He got in and lay down as best as he could, then proceeded to dig his paws in the water. He is so cute while he does this, and got some of the other dogs wet while he was splashing around. Percy then went in and out of the pool, juggling different toys and racing around the yard until he returned inside for a well needed nap.

Issy had little Barb clinging to her for most of her morning. Barb really loves Issy and Issy is very patient with and nice to Barb. Issy got outside and made her rounds of the yard. She sniffed along the fence and then headed back towards the gravel to hang out with Ricky. Barb was right under her nose the entire time, looking up at her and trying to lick her nose. After she made her rounds of the yards, I got Issy to join the rest of her group over in the far yard, where she continued to put her nose to work. I went up to Issy and snuggled her for a while. She loves getting cuddled outside, and then returning inside to her cozy spot in the kitchen. She is such a spoiled girl! After her group, Tiffani and I sat down for lunch in the kitchen with Issy and she enjoyed a little treat of her own.

Lola and Pearl had a very relaxing day at daycare today. Pearl started her day with a very nice walk accompanied by Vanna, her little friend. Lola went for her own walk too, a slower little stroll in the front field and then the two girls met back in their kennel. When it was time for their group, they went their separate ways again. Lola stayed more towards the door, and explored the gravel, while Pearl headed right for the grass. Pearl had her little nose glued to the grass and let it guide her all through the yard. She ended up underneath the picnic table. I went over to see what she was doing and called her name. She had found something very interesting and didn't look up when I called her. I left Pearl to finish her exploring, and returned to Lola to give her some cuddles. Lola sure loves a good bum scratch! It wasn't long before Pearl noticed her sister getting lots of attention and she came over to get some too. Pearl got a good back and bum rub and then these two ladies were off to their kennel. They went back to their cot, but before I could put their blanket down, they huddles together on the cot. I placed the blanket down on them and they were content to sit underneath it. I couldn't resist getting a cute photo of the two!

Max and Sadie were eager as ever to head out on their morning trail walk. They patiently sat and greeted me at their kennel door but they could hardly contain their excitement and their  bums wiggled until I gave them the go ahead. They happily stretched out their long legs and enjoyed an energetic trot down the trail. During their outdoor play session, the two of them took a quick dip in the pool followed by a few laps around the yard to dry off. Max found a special bone out in the yard and the two of them took turns running around with it in their mouth. Sadie brought her special treasure with her up onto the play structure while Max hung back to show me how high he could leap over the agility jump!

Domino started his morning off with a trail walk joined by friends Molly and Percy; he was pleased to be in such good company on this beautiful morning. When it was time to head back outside, he was thrilled to meet up with daycare friends Boris and Tasha and boarding pal Bing. It definitely was a Husky party this morning and everyone had a blast chasing Domino and Boris around the yard and in and out of the agility tunnel. Every time I would call Domino’s name, he would greet me with the biggest and most beautiful smile. He is such a friendly boy and our four-legged guests sure have been enjoying his company. Boris especially loved his rambunctious energy and the two of them were nearly inseparable for most of the morning. Throw in Husky ladies Vega and Tasha to the mix and we had a full on group wrestle and everyone was literally leaping over the agility tunnel. Boris and Tasha had the best time running around with Domino and needless to say, they were perfectly paired for a day of fun together!

Max and Sadie were bursting with energy today. They started their morning off with a nice trail walk with Susan, where Max was gung ho to speed ahead and Sadie wanted to take her time to sniff every blade of grass. When it was time for their group outing, Max and Sadie were so excited they couldn't sit still. After waiting patiently they finally relaxed a little and and sat nicely in their kennel. I let them outside, where they both took off doing a big lap of both yards. They slowed things down and did some very thorough sniffing, checking up on all the fresh smells from their week away. Max took a quick dip in the pool while Queen Sadie hopped up into the play structure to watch her brother from above and enjoy the cool breeze. Max did a few more laps around the yard while Sadie came over for some cuddles and lots of kisses. I offered them some cookies before heading inside, but they decided they weren't quite yummy enough for them. Max and Sadie quickly settled into their kennel on their big comfy beds to rest before their next turn.

Bella and Jake zoomed into the yard without any hesitation when their group time rolled around. Today the pair was particularly interested in the newer portion of the yard. They had their noses to the ground for a large amount of their outdoor time. No matter how much I bounced around Jake, or tried to cuddle Bella, they were determined to continue sniffing around. Finally, little Abby came darting around the corner to check them out, which got both Jake and Bella fired up. Jake instantly starting dancing around with Abby, resulting in Bella getting all excited too. Bella was more concerned about her brother goofing around than Abby; regardless she played with the both of them. Bella only played for a little bit, bouncing around, pawing at her brother, and barking at Abby until she decided to break off and continue exploring. Jake on the other hand was absolutely fascinated with Abby and her sparkly, spunky, personality. He couldn’t get enough of her fast games, which included a lot of racing and running as well as some boxing and dancing. After numerous laps around the yard, Bella re-joined the fun. The trio continued to zip and zoom around the yard, enjoying each others company and the wonderful weather until it was time to return indoors.

It’s been a while since I have last seen Tanner, as I’m not usually in on Mondays. I was so thrilled to see his happy self bouncing around in his kennel first thing this morning. He was so excited to get clipped to a leash, and head out for his walk. Tanner enjoyed the company of two new friends, Casey and Finn. The trio kept me very busy along the trail as they all seemed very excited to have one another around and there was a lot of playing involved in our walking. In the yard, Tanner took his time to settle in. He sniffed the entire yard before making his way from dog to dog to say his hellos. When he came across Finnigan, a light went off and his energy came out of nowhere. Tanner began zipping and zooming around with a big smile on his face. As he was running around he stopped at a couple dogs to play bow, inviting them to play. A couple dogs were very interested in Tanner. He had so much fun playing with Finnigan and Bing, running around boxing and wrestling. He continued to play until the whole group joined in. He took this opportunity to break off from the action and meet up with me. As usual Tanner poked his head between my legs asking me to please pet and cuddle him. Without any hesitation I put the camera down so I could give him a really good scratch, pet and cuddle. Tanner was very pleased with this. When I stopped he began howling at me and jumping all over me, asking me to please continue. Tanner and I then spent the remainder of outdoor time hanging out together, supervising the busy games going on around us.

Finn had such a stellar day. He met a new best friend, Bing. Bing is a new boarder, and he couldn’t have met a better match than Finn. The moment Finn got outdoors, he instantly had a bounce in his step, and began zipping and zooming around seeking a buddy. When Bing came along, Finn’s eyes lit up and they were inseparable from there on out. I don’t think I have seen Finn run as fast as he was running today. He had lots of his group mates chasing him around the entire agility yard. Finnigan even looped through the agility tunnel, and around the mini fence. He was so fast on his feet; it was a lot of fun to watch. When Bing finally caught him, Finnigan did his famous stop, drop, and roll. He drew a lot of attention to himself when he did this, which he loved. As he was flailing about on his back, and pawing at the air, all his mates danced around him. Finally he leapt up and began boxing and wrestling with Bing. He led Bing to the pool where the duo cooled down. Finnigan wasn’t afraid to lie down in the water and get nice and wet. Finn kept at these shenanigans for his entire outdoor time. If he wasn’t swimming or running he was wrestling and boxing with his mates. He had such a busy day!

Casey was quite the hot topic in the yard today. Every staff member, and dog, was excited to have him back. Casey was so thrilled to meet so many new faces today, his tail never stopped wagging. In the yard it seems as though every single dog wanted to play with him, even the dogs that are usually more reserved. Casey took every invite and opportunity that he had, and was sure to play with everyone. He was especially fond of Justice, the husky. These two made such a great match for playing. They were both very keen to box; standing tall on their hind legs with their forearms wrapped around open another. Both Casey and Justice liked hopping backwards and darting in circles before returning to the boxing position. Casey didn’t only box with Justice; he also boxed and wrestled with Bing, Domino, and Tanner. It could have been weather with the sun shining, and the pools out, he was sure to take advantage of everything. He loved dipping his paws in the water to cool off, but never stayed in long. He wasn’t too keen on getting wet. Casey continued to play with everyone for his entire group outing. When it was time to return indoors he had a great mid day nap which recharged his batteries enough to have just as much fun in the afternoon.

Domino continues to have an amazing time with us. He is one of the happiest dogs ever. His outgoing personality combined with his fun loving spirit, makes for an absolute joy to have. He is a great member to any playgroup, always contributing to the fun and getting all his friends to goof around. Domino was excited to be out in the agility yard for his whole morning outing. There were so many new smells to uncover that it took him a bit of time to really get playing. He zoomed around with his nose to the ground taking in all the interesting things the grass and rocks had to hide. Once he finally settled in he quickly met up with his husky friends to begin playing around. In the middle of all his games he spotted Casey, and made a beeline for him. Domino had a lot of fun boxing with Casey. The duo was a great pair, batting back and forth and dancing around with one another. It wasn’t long before Justice joined in, and Domino was even more excited. After some team fun, Domino broke off to dip in the pool. He loves the big pool! He had so much fun splashing around with his friends in the cool fresh water. Domino was a big suck for the toys today. We had a lot of fun tossing around a blue saucer. He tried very hard to keep it to himself, which caused a big game of keep away He was in the lead as several of his friends chased him around. The fun never stopped, even when he hopped in the pool and dropped the toy his continued batting around at it under water. Domino couldn’t have had more fun during his group time. When it was time to come in, he brought his toy into his kennel and had a nap with it by his side before returning outdoors for more games.

Lexie started her day off still sleepy from the night before, but the moment I opened her door she was raring to go. We walked outside and she basked in the morning sun just before bolting around the yard to sniff out the yard. She met up with a bunch of her group mates and began another day of fun and exploration. Extra Attention is where Lexie and I really bonded today. Although she started off a bit timid, by the time I gave her a couple of scratches and kisses we were best friends. She loves jumping up on the big comfy chairs at reception and scoping out the bucket of fresh treats on the nearby table. She met up with her golden retriever friend Amber and after about 5 minutes of them sniffing each other out they decided to play around with a couple of squeaky toys. Lexie and Amber parted ways as we embarked on another walk around the front yard. In our last play date of the day she made sure to follow me around knowing I would give her the cuddles and scratches she wanted. All in all a great day for Lexie and I can't wait to hang out with her again!

I met Amber for the first time today and the second she ran through the door she was a ball of energy... and cuteness of course. One of the staff members even went as far as saying she was the cutest dog ever. She immediately gave out lots of hugs and kisses to everyone in the room before a green squeaky toy caught her eye and she fell in love. Alyssa took her out for a nice long walk and she was ecstatic to be jumping around the grass on such a beautiful sunny day. During group playtime there's no doubt about it, Amber's one of the most popular dogs in the group. She has tons of friends always wanting to play with her, varying from a little beagle named Bailey to a big husky. This is most likely due to her friendly and welcoming personality that draws everyone to her. Amber loves getting big hugs and scratches around her ears but above all she loves sitting on staff members like she's a small lap dog. After a long day of trotting around the yard, chilling with friends and getting loved up she is pooped and ready to have a great nights sleep so we can do it all again tomorrow.
Amber and I had lots of fun during her extra attention time! At first she came up to the front, and she greeted Lexie and April. She was a very good girl and politely said hello to them all, not jumping up once! After a quick hello to the rest of the staff, she and I went outside for a little walk. Amber was so happy to be running around. She ran through the grass field, not stopping to sniff anything for a few moments. After we slowed down and walked along the trail. Amber stopped to sniff the longer grass and posed for some very pretty photos. Once we walked along the trail, we made our way back to the front where we met April again. April and Amber shared a few sniffs and Amber even play bowed to April. She leaped up to April to play, but I got her to sit down and say hello to April again, but with no jumping. Once we were back inside, Amber got really comfy on the chair and got lots of pets from Tiffani and myself. Right before going back to her kennel, Amber did some tricks for a few little treats. She sat down and gave me her paw a few times. After that I got her to sit and then lie down. She is such a good girl.

Nymeria had a great day in daycare today! She spent lots of time with her husky friends, especially Ayla and her cousin Vega. Vega and Nymeria got to play fighting right away, where Vega chased Nymeria onto the table and they pawed at each other. Nym stood on the table while the rest of them were below her. After a few minutes, she bounced off and took off racing towards the other side of the yard. Not long after that, Nymeria noticed the pool being filled and leaped right in. She got her face and paws all wet and then began digging in the water. It was very cute to watch. She continued doing this, which attracted the attention of Ayla and Domino. Domino jumped right into Nym, splashing everywhere and Ayla squeezed into the kiddie pool with them. It got pretty crowded with the three of them in there, and to solve that Nym simply lay down in the water. Once she was done, she came out and shook the water off while she was right beside me-silly girl! She went back and forth between the pool and the picnic table, playing nonstop with everyone. She really was little miss popular in her group!

Domino is so handsome! I love getting to spend time with him. To begin his day, he went for a morning outing and then met some new friends, Nymeria and Bing on his walk. Bing and Domino became fast friends and tried to play a bit while walking. Lauren let them play for a few minutes but then they continued on the trail, walking very nicely side by side. Later in the morning, Domino met his friends again outside, but this time it was Nymeria who he wanted to play with! Nymeria was a ball of fun today and Domino wrestled with her for the longest time. Once Domino's friends went to the pool, he got so excited and raced over there. He was running so fast that he leaped into the pool and tripped a little bit, slipping face first into the water. He was okay, and bounced right back up. Nymeria took this as an invite to play, so these two love birds wrestled around in the pool. When Domino wasn't playing with his friends, he came over to Lauren and I for some cuddles. He loves to give kisses sometimes and today was one of those times! I knelt down to pet him and scratch his ears and he was very content, with his tail wagging back and forth. He took another race around the yard before it was time to head inside.

Maggie had a lovely day today and was in a very happy mood! She was very excited to go out this morning but sat very nicely, like always, and waited for Alyssa to open her kennel. She wandered around the yard saying hello to everyone with a wagging tail and a happy smile on her face. She also had a great time during her walk and was very content as she trotted along the trail with her buddies! This afternoon we all headed outside for playtime, and she came right out into the yard and mingled with all the dogs. She was also very happy to follow me around and get a scratch behind the ear every little while. She enjoyed relaxing in the shade with her friends Leah and Poppy, but would run out onto the grass for a cuddle whenever I called her name! She is such a sweet girl and is always ready for a cuddle! She was also having a blast exploring the pool and the play structure with her pals Haley and Dougie.

April had such a wonderful day today! She was very excited to get outside this morning and trotted around the yard saying hello to all her buddies. She had a great time during her walk and was in a very adventurous mood. She ran all over the trail—exploring all the different smells and having a wonderful time with her friend Maddy. Then, we headed out into the front yard for her extra attention time where she met Amber, the sweet Golden Retriever. The two of them had a nice big hello with tails wagging before Amber headed back inside. Then, April bounded through the grass with a big goofy smile on her face before flopping down and getting a big belly rub. She was very happy to lie in the grass with me and soak up some sun while I gave her a long scratch behind the ear. She was very cuddly again today so we lay there for quite a while and relaxed before Susan came over to say hi. April was so happy to see her and gave her a big kiss before sitting back down with me and posing for some pictures. She was a great model! During outdoor playtime this afternoon she hung out a lot with her pal Willie. The two of them explored the yard together and came over to get a scratch behind the ear while I sat at the picnic table. Then, she decided to go and cool off so she jumped into the pool with Maddy and Dougie. They all had a blast splashing around in there!
