Sadie is such a sweet girl. I was lucky enough to spend most
of my day with her, from walks to groups and extra attention time. We started
the day with a walk out on the field trail alongside two of her friends, Casey
and Finnigan. We took our time and Sadie stopped to sniff as we made our way
around the loop, and thankfully managed to stay out of the rain. After her
walk, Sadie joined me in the reception area for some one-on-one extra attention
time. She climbed up into the armchair and flashed her best smile, looking for
some pets and attention. I was happy to give her a head scratch and lets of
pets while she relaxed. Alyssa joined us a few minutes later, and Sadie hopped
down from her perch to see if she could entice Alyssa into petting her too.
Sadie was successful, and enjoyed a back rub from her friend. Sadie then asked
to go outside so we went for a little stroll wherever Sadie’s nose led us. We
eventually made it back inside, where Sadie had a little snooze before joining
the rest of her group out in the play yard. There were lots of good smells for
Sadie to explore during her outing and many friends to greet and hang out with.
Sadie was quite the social butterfly and said hello to everyone, including
Casey and Finnigan that she had met earlier in the day.
Casey had another great day today! He was lounging on his
comfy bed after breakfast this morning, but hopped up in excitement when he saw
the leashes in my hands. We went and got two more friends to join us on the
trail, and Casey was happy as a clam roaming along with them. Out in the play
yard, Casey spent the first little while with his nose glued to the ground,
sniffing away at all of the scents in the rocks by the fence. He moseyed around
for a while until he caught wind of the game of fetch that was taking place.
Casey raced over and started “woo-ing” at me to throw the toy! I gave it a hard
toss and Casey tried to jump up and over the agility tunnel to chase it, but wound
up zipping around instead, silly guy. He came back to play fetch over and over
again, regardless of whether he actually caught the toy; he seemed to have just
as much fun chasing after it. We watched as Domino and Cara hopped up on the
tunnel and Casey was determined to make it all the way up since his earlier
attempt, and with a little encouragement he did it!
Domino is such a fun and goofy guy! He walked alongside
Magic, a fellow Ancient Moon Husky, as well as Molly the Golden out on the
trail this morning. He was so excited and wanted to play with Magic the whole
way around the loop. Once in the play yard, Domino flew around to a few
different activities throughout the day. For the first part of the day, Domino
and Finnigan the doodle raced around the yard and through the agility tunnel as
fast as their legs could carry them, but once he had released his zoomies,
Domino was all about the toys! He watched as I threw a few different toys for
all of the fetch-crazy dogs, and raced after whichever one was being tossed his
way. Domino caught a few here and there and would often parade his catch around
the yard, taking it through the tunnel or even over top! Domino had so much fun
chasing the toys, but took a few breaks here and there to say a more personal
hello to his pals, to have a pet from me, or to climb up on top of the agility tunnel
like the monkey that he is.
